The great thing that Pete Erskine does teacher as is he always starts from the fundamentals and basically builds on those in a way that anybody who wants to know anything about playing can get something from.
What he does here is a perfect example.
Less is so much more .Beautiful playing Mr Erskine .
GRANDE !!!!...un vero GIGANTE
So much space and grace in Peter's playing. A true master in music.
Listening to this guy is truly addicting!
I liked, and subscribed!😊
Watching Peter drum is like a work of art.
cymbal work is extremely satisfying. extra tight, can watch this all day
very nice relaxed approach...drums and cymbals sound great!
So pleasing to watch and listen to my old hero in the days of speedy technical wizards! Wow
the truth is he is among the real wizards of drumming, I could sit here and listen to him play for hours over the blazing speed and technical advents made by skilled modernist drummers.
I think Peter Erskine is one of the few drummers ever to really understand what the drums are as a "music making" instrument. He could do all of that flashy stuff, but everything feels so much better if he's tasteful and inventive.
It's great to feel like you're enjoying playing like this !! congratulations teacher !!!! my respects and thanks for so much musicality !!
Peter, your playing is so fresh! It reminds me of the first time I heard you with Maynard on PBS in the 70's. You sound great! Your an inspiration to us to keep at it as we get older! Thanks!!
Not only is he better than ever, but those drums sound magnificent!
This is beautiful!
Thank you Peter. I love Bob's music. He did wonderful things with the WDR big band.
Tasty and groovy, as usual. Thanks Mr. Erskine.
The video was originally made to highlight the new Zildjian Flash Splash cymbals.
That's awesome and here I thought it was supposed to be an example showcasing the definition of jazz drummer
I didn't notice....
:)
As our story continues...
We find Yoda, in his studio.
Somewhere in the Dagobah system..
Majestically Wielding The Force ...
I drive my wife crazy by asking Alexa every night this: "Alexa - play Peter Erskine." 🎶🥁😎 love ya Peter, keep in the groove! DC
Lol!!!!, how funny is that
Mr. ERSKINE
From one drummer to another I must say, I came across this video and you are one tasty drummer. Nice real nice. O and the splashes get extra pay at the end of the night
Fabulous! Thank you so much Sir !!!!!
Merci M. Peter Erskine !! ;-)
Fantastic, the time the control the perfect hits and drum sound truly a master. Thanks for getting me in to jazz years ago and for keeping me interested now.
Ahh, that would explain it. Not that any of us should dare speak of your attention given to that sweet sounding little devil. You had us sold at 0:20 seconds. Brilliant and wonderful as usual!
Il numero 1 della musicalità!
This is amazing! Downloading the app now. I think I have the full Fuzzy Music app catalog now. Keep up the awesome work!
A master at his craft. Nice stuff Peter.
Beautiful playing!!
Beautiful!
Groovy, tasty, tight. Enjoyed it a lot!
You're on fire Peter!
"The drummer should be the first instrument to be recorded, you can't record the drums after the other instruments and make it groove"....Peter Erskine: hold my beer.
That drumming was fkng amazing.
Really inspiring.
Splashes, sound sweet! But, man that crash on your far right is a KILLER! You sound great too, but that's because you're, Peter Erskine!!! :) Thanks, Peter!

@@StraightNoChaser86 haha you are correct , well in that case it´s a 16 k custom crash
The new star drums sound similar to the old rogers drums = more ringy than gretsch and a bit brighter. They are similar in construction to rogers as well. Very nice product and Peter Erskine is a fine player.
Awesome!
nice sound! i like:-)
Amazing groovy player!!
Smooooove!
Great's Maestro!!!
🔥❣️🔥
Hi Peter, longtime fan here. Quick question about your match grip before you move to the traditional: is this a particular style or a new technique? It seems you're holding them very close to their ends, not at the fulcrum. Thanks much, always a pleasure seeing and listening to your work and your instructional videos.
Mr. Erskine.....what ride do you have to the left of you?
"Thumbs Up" x 1,000,000
Is it just me wanting to hear Dr. Gadd play this?
...ma quanto si diverte a giocare con la batteria ...
Creative, musical, excellent. You hold your drum sticks very high just like Asians hold their chop sticks: at the very end. Are you married to an Asian woman? :)
To much "splashing" for my taste
