- Here's Ray Stevens performing "Such A Night" live on TNN's Country Standard Time in 1990. This show was hosted by and includes an introduction by Boots Randolph and Jeanne Pruett.
The song "Such A Night" was written by Lincoln Chase and originally recorded by the Drifters in 1953, but many versions by other artists followed over the years. In particular, Elvis Presley's 1960 recording was a big hit which Ray Stevens always loved. Ray released his very own version on his 1982 "Don't Laugh Now" album.

This is a new one for me. Thanks for sharing!
A great performance and I love the extensive intro by Boots and Jeanne. The show, 'Country Standard Time', aired on TNN and it was a performance clip series. In each episode, hosted by somebody different each week, performances compiled from various country music programs of the past would be spotlighted. Although the episode of this TV series is from 1990 the performance by Ray Stevens is from a 1982 episode of 'That Nashville Music'. I don't know if Ray ever hosted an episode of 'Country Standard Time' or not. Those who hosted the show the most happened to be Jeannie Seely, Faron Young, Johnny Russell, Lynn Anderson.
I love Southern Air. It is so funny with Jerry Clower and Miss Minnie.
And The Mississippi Squirrel finally came true in 2021 or 2022. 😂😂😂❤❤❤🐿️
Ray is still cranking out tunes(Bubba became Charlene)! Go Ray Go!👍
I loved all of his songs.
