I'm a simple man. I see Steve, I click "Like."
I’m thrilled that you are back and on the mend Steve!!! Nobody does it better than you.
Hey I heard that in a song before 😂
Nothing better than Steve Magnante explaining the history and the technology of a car.... LOVE IT.
Looking good Steve.
Thank you Steve!👍
What a gorgeous GTO, paint looks flawless. Thanks for the walk around Mr Magnante, keep healing. High Octane Classics, thanks for making these videos ~ Chuck
Thanks for keeping Steve using his memory and teaching us on every video.
Be well Steve!
You are looking stronger everyday, Steve! Well done 💪🏼🍀
I really enjoy these classic car reviews with Steve. I don’t know how in the world he remembers all the details, but it sure is fun to watch these videos and learn.😊
Awesome to see Steve back to work!
Thanks! My High School friend had a real one!
Good to see you back doing what you enjoy.....
We got the VIN (from the HOC website), we win: 2 for Pontiac, 42 for GTO, 37 for two door hardtop, 0 for 1970 model year, P for Pontiac, MI assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Pontiac MI plant was the "home" Pontiac plant and closed in 1988 after last assembling the Fiero and the last of the "G" body RWD cars.
No tag, can't brag, but in its current configuration, it might go something like this: ST70 for 1970 model year, 24237 for Pontiac (2) GTO (42) two door hardtop (37), PON for Pontiac, MI assembly, 258 or 268 for Black interior trim, 06 06 for Orbit Orange lower and upper exterior paint, among other codes.
1970 was also the year for the short-lived "VOE" (Vacuum Operated Exhaust) option which only found its way into about 233 cars. It raised the exhaust noise and was canceled in short order. A commercial called "The Humbler" was run on TV during Super Bowl in 1970 showcasing this option. GM management immediately pulled the commercial after it ran. Prior to that, the infamous GTO ad with the caption, "You Know the Rest of the Story" showing a GTO waiting for a street race on the Woodward Avenue turnaround in Detroit equally drew the ire of GM management for promoting street racing. It wouldn't be the last time that GM (especially Pontiac) would flip the proverbial bird to the US government or the EPA. They would do it even through the 1979 model year with the advent of the last W72 equipped 400 V8 Firebirds.
The best walk around I’ve watched in a while. Well done sir.
I remember walking past one of these, brand spanking new, on the way to high school. Sharp, sharp car.
Dazed and confused anyone? The cars and music were awesome. Great to see you getting better steve
Nice!!! 👍👍
Thanks Steve
Steve is so much more valuable than a Judge. Great to see both. Really. I tell people .
You dah Judge Steve !😊
Sammy Davis Junior.👍
Great job Steve keep doing videos we all love them !
I remember my cousin bought one brand new exactly like that one!! Your looking good Steve!! Get your health back to 10% my brother!!!!
all gto’s are nice, my favorite was the 64 and 65’s
Man that’s definitely a well done tribute! Definitely a beautiful car. But My favorite year and probably most of us fans is the 69 version, carrousel red, with the Ram Air 4 With the 4 speed manual.👌🥰👍Continue getting well Steve!
Very nice and always loved that particular color, two lane blacktop...also looks like it may have a small coolant leak, unless that green under the intake runner is something else.
So good to see you on my 📺 Mr Maggs 👍 you're showcasing my Dream car, not nit picking but I think the Judge package came out in February 68 not that it matters. It's missing the hood tach as well. Thanks for sharing your wonderful videos were all so happy to see you up and around. ❤
Well done steve, I do enjoy a pontiac story of any year really, I had a 69 lemans "custom s" back in the 80's, my buddy had a 68 lemans, another guy had a 68 also, picture this onna Friday nite..three lanes of Pontiacs at a light all in a row launching at the green and racing down speedway Blvd in tucson arizona @ way over the speed limit lol, three lanes of thunder, lite to lite and cruising parking lots and turning head's etc with our hoods off..a beautiful site indeed!!
Great video of the GTO. The Judge is in reference to Sammy Davis Junior's character on Laff In, "here comes the judge".
Thank you Steve
Beautiful car I'd love to buy it definitely big fan of this particular car!!!
Good to see you back Steve!
Love it Steve! Best Wishes! 😊
Seeing 15 of these on an open auto rack railroad car was quite the experience. Pontiac only built a relatively small quantity of these, so seeing that many was quite surprising and seriously cool!😎 ❤
Great looking car
Thanks, Steve. Genuine Judge or not, I sure wouldn't kick that out of my garage. 😉
Two Lane Blacktop! 👍 I think Warren Oates would approve.
My brother owned 2 gto's , a "65" convertible 4 sd. Tri power, and a "67" 4 speed fully optioned.
,Lookin good Steve
Reference to Timothy Leary 😄👍
beautiful car. thanks for the video!
Great walk around Steve . I graduated High School with a 64 GTO 389, 4spd. Now at age 65 I settled into a C6 corvette….keep getting better brother. 😎🏁👍
❤Thank-you STEVE
Not a yellow car guy, but that is a great looking car! Looking good Steve…
🔥🐐🔥
We all know Steve’s been sick, but aside from the limp I think he looks better than ever. He’s dropped some weight, looks more relaxed, and just seems to have a better demeanor in general - not that there was anything wrong with before. Here’s to hoping he feels as good as he looks.
It's great to see and hear you up and about! I always hated those horribly ugly 'eyebrows' over the wheel openings. Didn't like them when they were new, haven't changed my mind.
Looking better every video Steve, so happy to see you recovering. Look forward to seeing your videos every day
What health issue did he have?
The water neck is leaking. The 70 in my mind, is the best looking GTO. Beautiful clone, great color combo. But I have a Rallye 350 so I would like it.
Agreed beautiful Car
Very unlikely it's the water neck. If you're a Pontiac guy you know the thermostat bypass that is right below the water neck is a known leak issue. Right now 69 Judge is leaking from the exact same spot and the coolant collects in the same spot.
Without the goofy decals it’s one of best looking muscle cars ever.
Thanks Steve. Good to see you
I love your videos Steve I wish I could help you financially. I did subscribe/like your videos
Steve, hope ur doing well, looks like the one in two lane blacktop
As far as I know, Pontiac decided to put 'cast' rods in all the 400's (RA 3's and even RA 4's) except for the RAV which weren't very strong either.
Friend of mine had a pretty nice '69 GTO in the 80's but he never got it back on the road. Sadly watched it rot into the ground behind his house.
🖖
Here come da JUDGE!
2:54 Looks like a coolant leak or spill on the timing cover.
"500 foot pounds of torque, whatever that is ? , it's all right there in the glovebox if you wanna take a look " , " How come you ain't still in Bakersfield?"
What’s the price on this GTO?
How much $
Thanks
Lush!!
I rather have the M-22 Rock Crusher
No Judge
Definitely not austere
Sigh... it's not a self-respecting GTO if it's wearing fake Judge badges.
