I am in tears seeing Nadal play again.... One last clay swing 😢
I don't think it's his last. I know him he is cunning he will continue to play
dont be so pessimistic
vamos rafa. happy day!
@@chocosquirrel3319 His body is breaking down. No amount of cunning can change that.
I'll be surprised if he can finish the entire clay swing (Barcelona + Madrid + Rome + Roland Garros + Olympics). I'm not sure his body will hold up.
@@alburaq3290He isn't going to play Rome that's for sure. What's the point? Too close to RG And he doesn't need to play all those tournsments to be an active tennis player.
Look at the crowd!
It looks like One of the Grand Slam finals
Everybody is happy to see him playing
I was there it was epic
Well it's his home crowd but yes, the crowd cheered like hell
Same thought❤😊
In Spain......yes
Only to his fans. Cry about it, Djokovic would destroy him
No matter what anyone says about him retiring, let's all appreciate getting to see him work wonders on the clay...vamos!!!
Totally agree. I know it's just first round against a no name player but it's a win just to see him back on court.

The all time best clay player. The best of the best . I am overwhelmed with joy to see him back doing well. He is a gem and i love him. For me Tennis means Nadal.

Crazy to think the last clay court match he played was demolishing Ruud at the 22 RG final!
Honestly!!!! Man, this was like looooong ago!!! I still remember I was delaying to reply my to be wife because I was watching him, then I told her about my fav sportsman Rafa. And just on the brink of our 2nd anniversary since we met Rafa came back on clay. These 2 years were honestly soooo long to get back our Rafa on clay again 😌❣️
Yeah, Nadal won his 22nd major there and was the leader in the Slam race while Djokovic was still at 20.
Then Nadal got injured after the Taylor Swift match at Wimbledon the next month and Djokovic won his 21st major. Nadal would continue to struggle, losing to Tiafoe at US Open while Djokovic didn't play the event.
Nadal's injuries would continue on in 2023, allowing Djokovic to win 3 of the 4 majors and take the lead in the race at 24 majors.
Nadal will try to win his 23rd major and a 15th Roland Garros title in May.
@@bitanmandal977that is a beautiful story
@jollyjames30 playing Taylor Swift at Wimbledon obviously took a lot out of him!😂
He really plays with so much power and passion.

Finally... My heart is melting away 😢

He can hold his head high, too...he played very well. But....Nadal!
Gioia nel vederlo, ma anche tanta paura ❤
HOW does this man go so long without a pro match, then show up with straight sets victories like at Brisbane and Barcelona? Brings a tear to my eye each opportunity we get to see this incredible champion
talent + experience + he's Rafa
They are pro level. Slight injury cost them a lot.
If they play, it means they are injury free.
They are always good in technical and tactical wise.
Only body fitness makes difference.
@@rogerfederer1519 Not true. Rafa has almost always played with some injury. A lot of ATP players also play with some small problems

well he was just bread-sticked 6-1 off the court by De Minaur who isn't even a Top 20 player on clay and who has never done anything on clay ... so yep. he's cooked.
Imagine playing a match where the court is named after your opponent :)

Amazing to see nadal back on the court 👍
Oui après a voir s’il peut déjà passer de minaur
There can only be ONE KING OF CLAY..... its a treat watching RAFA on Clay.
Nadal has clearly been working hard on his fitness and it showed
That's the point
Yeah, he looks pretty good from the baseline. The serve is a problem, though. Hope this was just a precaution
The serve bothers his Abdomen. He's already stated he can't be consistent with the serve. He's not g'woin to beat a lot of the big guys with this serve. He'll have to have good placement going forward.
@@justusbeweel1109 His serve is not so important on clay... but it could be a big problem against the top 10 players
Fitness has seldom been a problem for Nadal. His body is breaking down. I'll be surprised if it holds up for the entire clay swing. Hoping for one good last season from him.
As Novak and Federer have said, no one hits the ball like Rafa. The vicious combination of spin and speed and well placed angles is devastating. One wonders if we will ever again see a player like Rafa.
There was a Russian guy 15 years or so ago hitting the same forehand right handed, but the level of play was obviously different from Rafa's. Nadal is so much more than just heavy spin balls on clay. And this is coming from someone who doesn't like Nadal at all.
Nadal made records on clay that no one will break for the next 500 years!!!❤🇪🇦

I had tears in my eyes when Rafa entered the court. One last time! Very, very solid performance by Rafa, hope he can keep it up. Flavio seemed shellshocked to play one of the "goats" on some points, though.

So good to see Rafa playing. Hope he stays healthy for a good run at RG.
Beautiful day for a beautiful person. ❤
Every shot Rafa hits is at least 2 of the following:
-Super heavy
-Within 2 feet of baseline or side line
-At opponents weakness
-Sharp angle off the court
But his bread and butter play of big lefty forehand with side spin to the ad court at right handers backhand accomplishes all 4 🇪🇸❤

I’m overjoyed watching Rafa play and win on clay again. I know we only have a few handfuls of these left so I’m grateful and cherishing each one. We love you Rafa and we’ll miss your greatness! Absolute legend.
Welcome back king. Go for the title
A legend.
The forehand cross-court at the service line that drags his opponent off the court is a thing of beauty. The GOAT of dirt ballers.
The Man is the reason I started watching Tennis. Over the years, over the decades on different surfaces and on clay brings all those memories when I sneaked some time out of my schedule to get glimpse of his matches, constantly following scores at crucial junctures. He has outpoured joy on so many occasions, bringing Deja Vus, and here he is again relishing his sport, achieving unprecedented heights and conquering feats only a handful have achieved.
I cant demand anything more from him and he wont be playing forever. Its emotional, its sad, its inevitable and its bringing me deep into the ocean of memories which he has provided all those years.
Rafa💪🏼
Back in 2010, I saw a guy with a pirate typed T-shirt shouting around a tennis court and picking all the balls with his racket like it would depend his whole life not letting his rival answering his demonic shot.
Good start. Welcome back to business. 🎾 so happy to see you back again ❤
The favorite, exciting, and best player of all time on the clay surface and maybe in general. Rafael Nadal.

THE MAESTRO IS BACK 👑, VAMOOOOOOS RAFAAAAA 💪🏻🎾❤️🇪🇸
I've always been a Roger Federer fan. I remember those crazy moments hating Nadal (Nadull back then) for not being afraid of the Swiss, for being so hard to hit out of balance, for being such a fighter and generally pain in R's ass. It took years and growing up to appreciate what this man actually brought to tennis: unbeakable spirit, insane movement and court coverage, always improving his game (like he did with his serve), focus, cold blood (even when Robin Soderling was mocking him) and of course unbelievable spin rate. I'm still not his fan, nobody's fan, but I wish Rafael stay healthy and share his talent for tennis with us for as long as possible.
I'm glad to know you've grown up!
It's nice that we're getting this sort of informal farewell tour for this incredible champion. We never really got much of a warning or buildup for Federer's departure, so I'm really glad to see it happen for Rafa. Just hearing that iconic grunt and watching that signature forehand fire is wonderful.
Not gonna lie did not expect that power from nadal at all. Hope he stays fit
He did much better than I thought he would.
The last man from the best generation of tennis players, can’t love him more than we already do can we?
Definitely not the last man
He is, based on the caliber he possesses as a tennis player and as a person. No artificiality about him, nothing pretentious, all genuine, everything from and of his heart. These are what make him the greatest player of all time. One cannot be a good player unless he is also a good person. You cannot separate the personality of a tennis player from his behavior in and out of the tennis court.
@@Ethel-Wobo Novak isn’t on the same gentlemen level as Rafa or Roger, be happy to disagree.
For someone like me, who has not been in the tennis game for long, and as a Swiss who loves Spain - the language/culture/people, but unfortunately missed seeing Federer live (e.g. in Basel), it is so nice to see this legend and dear person (just like Federer) play. Thank you for that - it was certainly an incredible atmosphere live. 🙏🙏♥️♥️🇪🇦🇪🇦 For me, the two best and favourite people; Federer & Nadal. 🇨🇭🇪🇦🏆

It's such a pleasure to watch Rafa playing! Unforgettable.. He looks well rested and ready for action. Fingers crossed he stays healthy a little bit longer...
bro has installed an update on his backhand.
since a couple of years already. It is his most reliable shot, funnily enough. Sometimes it lands short, but the BH is actually very heavy (I mean, he is a right-hander that plays as a lefty) and rarely falls completely apart. One of the most underrated aspects of nadal.
I was shocked seeing how much power he can deliver with that backhand
He literally had the best double handed backhand on tour after Novak for many years 😂
That is actually something Ruud mentioned, his backhand is so heavy he couldn't believe it the first time he played against him..
We miss you Nadal!
So happy to see him back!!
