A photo scrapbook is great for your situation. A double page layout with the person’s name in a plain large font. A few pictures of the relative at different ages (to jog memory if necessary) and one very recent photo. That helps connect memories to today. And thanks for sharing your story. I love that you bring us a little your non crafty life. I am in the same boat with my mom. It's so hard watching them age. I. also send my mom cards all winter long when I leave MN for the sunshine. Makes both of us happy.

Your story touched my heart. I try to send out encouragement cards all year to family and friends. Your card and tag are beautiful!
The last couple of years of my mom's life, she was bedridden and living in adult foster care. It's like being in a nursing home but on a much smaller scale. It's a private home that's been adapted to care for 3-4 people in a more homelike environment. Since I lived 2,000 miles away I couldn't be with her so I called her every week and sent her a handmade card or flowers, just something to brighten up her day.
These two are beauties! I really enjoy your step-by-step process.

Beautiful!! I have my mother, who has dementia, living with me. It can be difficult. Hardest part is when she realizes her mind is going and seeing her struggle. Very cruel condition.
I love this tree. I haven't seen it before, but I probably wouldn't have purchased it. Now that I have seen it used, my goodness, it is gorgeous and looks perfect on your card and tag. I have to add it to my stash. My mum is 91 and lives 4000 miles away in the UK. I have to use WhatsApp to call her, as she is hard of hearing and has to lipread our conversation. The nice thing about that, is I also get to see her.

It’s so hard when our mom’s have health issues and worse when they pass ….my mom had dementia for her last 10 years of her life but never forgot me ( only child ) my husband & her second husband…my dad died at 43 yrs old so she remarried .
She fell at 87 and lost the use of her right arm then the ability to work , so her husband couldn’t care for her and I couldn’t lift her or move her around as I have double knee replacements and herniated discs so she had to go to nursing home ( not nice places ) I do crafts so I decorated her room for different holidays ..,she lived there 8 months before she passed ….so very hard . Dementia is so cruel as any form of mental confusion ….a little piece of your heart breaks when they have bad days
