Trent Reznor design was absolutely brilliant. They kept it to Q3, after that it gets cheezy. I'd like to know why they removed it... what happened in the meeting room with the sound designer?
I get the consistency of colour: blue for health items, green for armor... but it just makes more sense for health to be red or purple, and the powerups be blue. I hope we can change the colours in the future as it's only a hue change of the item skin.
What happen to Quake ? I really hope they make another Quake with both campaign and Multiplayer. It literally got me into FPS and Music. Quake 2 changed my life Quake 3 competed it

Quake live used to have a non-demonic slightly altered, more bassy version of the vadrigar voice they later re-implemented after the critique of the different va. at around 3 minute mark in ua-cam.com/video/eRm1RC1Fz9M/v-deo.html it felt a lot more echoey and deep than the original and eventual vadrigar. While very different the current announcer in Quake Champions is really good too. I think the middle Quakelive va, doom 4 va and early Champions ones are the worst overall.
I was expecting some interesting commentary when I read "History of Quad Damage". A little disappointed but still good to hear the voice clip. The sound affect that either instils fear or a sense of power in the player.

Original quake did not have quad damage, it was doubled damage. The first quad damage was introduced in quake 2 hence why it was called “quake 2: quad damage”

There's something godly feeling about grabbing a Quad and then just sweeping a whole bunch of Demons, Ogres and Shamblers down with the Thunderbolt.
Q4 is best because the sound design is the cleanest of all installments.
