Ammoon POCKVERB Reverb & Delay Demo playthrough (no talking) part I

- Опубліковано 11 вер 2024
- Part I demoing / playing through the sounds on the Ammoon POCKVERB Reverb & Delay pedal. It's an affordable device that can do Reverb sounds, or Delay sounds, or a combination of both. Pretty versatile, it's even got a Reverse Delay setting that you often only find on the more expensive pedals.
This first video I'm looking at the Reverb settings and the Delay settings, in the next video I'll look at the combined sounds. I started with Reverb sounds, the Delay sounds come in around 6:33
Played way too long on this one (enjoyed it, that's what happens :)).

Thank you for the tasteful style of your demo. No hyperactive yelling and talking. No click baity title with a facial expression of someone who just stumbled upon a briefcase with 2 million dollars in it. This is just informative and very well done Sir!
Thank you, I really appreciate the comment!
Many content creators should read this comment, thanks!
@@guilhermelimasatolep Thanks! :)
These demos are tastefully informative and entertaining.
So many people put up attempts of demo and reviews that feature them nattering away while staring at the camera. These demos tell us what we need to know in writing without intruding on the sounds. These also work as background music.
I found your channel after I bought one of these pedals.
So of course I liked and subscribed.
Thanks David, I appreciate the kind words. I'm glad that there are people that like my style of demos. Comments like these give me the motivation to keep on making more :).
Got one and it is well worth the price. Those nice warms analog sounds are usually only available on expensive pedals. Maybe Boss and others should be considering making more affordable pedals if they want to compete.
Yeah this is a very nice sounding and versatile pedal. The more expensive pedal manufacturers definitely still have the biggest piece of the pie, but it's nice to have some good and affordable alternatives these days.
Well worth price? You sound like you bought it for $400. It’s very very very good pedal for this price range. This pedal is better sounding than most $200 above sh*t overpriced reverb pedal
Exactly what a pedal demo video needs to be.
Thanks a lot!
Beautiful place to come to , great tones , best content on you tube .
I appreciate the comment, thank you so much!
Great demonstration and I am buying one after listening to you!
Thank you! I hope you'll like playing the Pockverb too :).
Howdy, Rudy Bressers. this is surprisingly exciting video. thanks. :)
Hi there! Thanks for the compliment, I appreciate the comment 😀
Thanks for the video!!! tomorrow i will have one of this pedals and i´m so excited.
Thanks! That's great, I hope you have a lot of fun playing with it.
Extremely great pedal for the price than most other above $200 Overpriced reverb-delay pedals
It certainly is, it still has a spot on my pedalboard. Love the reverse delay on it!
Awesome demo, needs more views!
Thanks for the nice comment!
Esse vídeo me convenceu a realizar a compra. Obrigado!!!
You're welcome! I hope you like it :)
Nice Playing as well
Awesome demo man ! Thx
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching :)
I don’t have much history with pedals but would this go great with songs like, aventura - mi coranzoncito ? That genre involves reverb and delay and chorus
For reverb and delay it could definitely be an option. There's no chorus sounds however. Maybe the Zoom MS-70CDR instead?
Hi, thank you for your demo. Plese could you tell me if it's possible to use taht with Battery 9 vlt ? Thank you a lot.
There is no battery compartment. You could use a battery to 9v adapter wire. Otherwise you'll have to use a 9v adapter with this one.
I'm wondering what's the catch with this pedal because functionality-wise it's jam-packed, even if we disregard the cheap price. I'm not aware of other delay + reverb pedals with so many options in this form factor. Is the sound quality underwhelming? It doesn't seem so but that's the only thing I can think of.
BTW I enjoy your demos. I recently acquired a Joyo American Sound partly because of your video of it.
Thanks for the comment, I appreciate the support! For me the delay sounds are very cool, the reverbs are ok, but not fantastic. So that's where I think you can see/hear the lower price point.
But it's still a very nice pedal, especially considering the fact that you can combine the two effects. There are certainly reverbs out there that can sound better, but you'll definitely hurt your wallet more with those :).
Pedals are relatively cheap to build. It's mainly the brand, quality control, and insurance you're paying for when it comes to name brand pedals, rather than actual functionality. The nice thing though is that with most of these pedals being on Amazon, Ebay, and Aliexpress, it's pretty easy to get your money back in the event you do get a lemon.
Hi Rudy, doest this pedal boost the signal when engaged? Thank you
Hi! It's been a while, I can't really remember. I don't think it did however.
I want this on my board for ambient stuff but I'd also like to use the delay or reverb for a more classic sounding metal tone sometimes. Does it sound good with gain?
I hope someone else can answer that question. Myself I'm not a high gain player, so it's a difficult question for me to answer :).
hight gain with reverb? 🤔
Yes it sounds good with overdrive or distortion and metal.
im still watching the vid but, does this have a trail pop when you turn back on? i have the caline snakebite and that problem, so im planing to replace the snakebite with this pedal
Not as far as I can remember. I haven't played it in a little while (too busy I'm afraid). But there's no noticeable pop if I recall correctly.
For a person who isn't much into Delays, and would like to get a good value reverb, would you think this Pockverb would be best or a TC Skysurfer? Or a third option, maybe? It's not that I dislike delay, but I'm shooting for a decent verb and the dealy would just be an extra. Ty
Depends a little on what kind of reverb you like. If it's not specifically a spring reverb you're looking for, then you could go for the Caline Snake Bite. It goes from small to pretty big, has a good sound and tone control as well. I have a demo on the channel if you're interested. The Skysurfer is def OK too (also have a demo of that one by the way 😄).
Love this video! Awesome tones. Any chance I could use this for an ad I’m creating?
Thanks Rudy
Hi! Of course, that's no problem as long as you mention that the music is written/played by me :)
@@RudyBressers absolutely!
Hi Rudy! I’m actually looking for a delay pedal right now and i dont know much about it. I want to have heavy dub sound what you can find in King Tubby works, do you think this pedal might be useful?
Hi! I don't know his music, but there's a lot of different delay and reverb sounds you can get out of this pedal. Or you could use plugins instead if you want to produce music?
@@RudyBressers thank you for the answer! Nah I’m just a beginner guitarist who also obsessed with gadgets, just tryna get specific psychedelic sound :D
@@arthurgizun1385 That's fun, I hope you find some nice gadgets to get creative with :).
Hey I really wanted to get a flashback and hall of fame from tc but thie caught my eye and it kinda solves two problems I have. Is it durable and because this sounds amazing regardless of the price.
Hi! It has been durable so far. It's been on my pedalboard for quite a while now without any problems. Still working 100%👌.
I would like to ask if an acoustic guitar with a built in pickup, would work with this?
Yep, that should work too.
Hi that's really amazing vid and love the background! I'm mainly just look for ambience type of reverb and some reverse kinda type or swell like that hahaha so do u think this is better or the caline snake bite? and also I already got a delay pedal so kinda stuck in between haha tq!
Thanks! The Snake bite is very nice too for ambient stuff. But it doesn't have reverse or swell type effects. So if those are important to you, the Pockverb might be the best choice. Or possibly the Cuvave Dig Reverb? (The Cuvave sounds a little more 'digital', but it also has a sort of swell reverb.)
@@RudyBressers i see but for the swell thing, any reverb pedal will be able to perform that technique right? If yes then probably i will get snake bite since it give a bit more freedom on adjusting the sound to own preferences i think 😅
@@zhengkai7996A swell type of effect is definitely not included in every Delay pedal (most of the time it isn't I would say). So that would be something to check beforehand. 😃
The Snake bite is indeed very nice if you want to tweak the sound of the reverb.
@@RudyBressers @Rudy Bressers alright thanks ya! That really help me a lot to decide which one to get
@@zhengkai7996 Great, good luck! Hope you enjoy playing whatever you pick 😀
hello, did you experience little bit heat on the pedal? mine slightly heat up while playing eventhough play about 15 mins
Hi! I can't really say I noticed that with my pockverb. As long as it doesn't get crazy hot it's probably nothing to worry about.
@@RudyBressers ok then thank you. worried the problem beyond
I'm sold. I just bought one on line for $50
NiceI Hope you enjoy playing it
@@RudyBressers I got it yesterday and it sounds great! I even tried using a mic with it and I got the same echo and reverb effects that I got with my guitar. I like it!
@@COWBOYBARNMAN Nice dude, that's great to hear! 😀
You've tried a trillion reverbs VST, digital and analog. Which make and model seem to be your go to one ?
Digital (as in vst plugin) I like Valhalla Vintage Verb a lot... Really a great sounding plugin, versatile and not too expensive (50$ I think).
Regarding pedals I like the TC Electronic Hall of Fame II for weird stuff (big reverbs for example), using the mesh function with the footswitch.
For more 'normal' sounding reverbs the TC Electronic Skysurfer pedal is pretty decent, and also very affordable.
There are still a lot of pedals I haven't tried of course :)... Although some brands are a bit too pricey for me like Strymon and Eventide.
Nice vid and nice playing too bro! Would you say that the reverb side is "transparent" and faithful to your core guitar sound?
Thanks dude! The reverb side doesn't change the core guitar sound too much I feel. But it's the combinations of reverb and delay (and the fact this has a reverse delay) that makes this pedal really nice. If you're mostly interested in reverb sounds, perhaps there are better choices. Like the Caline Snake Bite for example.
@@RudyBressers Thanks for the input man. I use a Marshall Reflector and a Visual Sound Dual Delay for those moments were the effects must be subtle. But when they have to shine i use a Line 6 M5. I was wondering if the Ammoon could do both roles for jams and little venues gigs. Is it that versatile?
@@bahiajones It definitely can do both (I have used the pedal noodling at home, playing in a rehearsal room, and playing live :).
The only thing to keep in mind is, that if you want to change the settings for each song, you will have to turn the knobs. Which isn't always easy playing live. In such cases the Line 6 you have now, might be more practical because you can probably store presets in that pedal.
@@RudyBressers You absolutely right, i just don't wanna carry my entire pedalboard to a beach house drunken party, but still i wanna sound good. Thanks again and keep the great work.
@@bahiajones Ah ok, in that case I think it's a safe bet haha. Thanks for the comment! :)
If you press the switch off... Do the tail of the reverb or delays still remain?... Or it suddenly stops together when pressing the swtich off
When you press the switch, the tail stops immediately.
@@RudyBressers you can have tail when switching off! "Connect the power, when PockVerb is turned off, hold the Divide Led for 2.5
seconds to switch ‘Trail On’ / ‘Trail Off’. The Divide Led will quickly flash to
show that the Mode has been changed"

@@metabrisa5789 Great tip, didn't know that. Thanks! :)
@@metabrisa5789had this pedal for three years never knew!
Can you do the oscillation effect on the analog delay?
Sorry but I can't remember, it's been too long.
Is there a dotted 8 in the delay?
You could set it up manually using the tap tempo (switch). But there's not an easy divide button like on the MXR Carbon Copy Deluxe for example.
@@RudyBressers oh okay thank you uhm last question, in a pedal chain is delay before reverb or delay after reverb?
@@JAY-EL07 Usually delay before reverb (that's how I use it too). But you can experiment with delay after reverb for some different effects. Ultimately if it sounds good to you that's what's most important :)
@@RudyBressers Thank you so much for your help. Keep on rockin' bro!
@@JAY-EL07 Glad I could help dude, you keep rockin' too! :)
U said no talking but the guitar is talking 🥰
Thanks! 🙏😄
this one or joyo atmosphere reverb? ure great tysm
Thanks! Personally I would choose this one (the Ammoon) becuase of the reverb/delay combinations, and also the reverse delay which I'm a big fan of. But it is a matter of taste, I'm sure you would be happy with either one.
are there any volume drops in any of the modes?
Nothing too crazy as far as I can remember. But it has been a while :).
@@RudyBressers thanks man, had issues with another multi reverb that kept reducing volume when activated
@@nah3 hopefully this one will work better for you
@@RudyBressershi whats the best combination of delay and reverb would your recommend in this pedal?
Works for surf rock?
It could work, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice.
Can you use this for live vocals?
I don't see why not. As long as the vocals go through a preamp first, for example a mixer or DI box with a built in preamp. Otherwise the signal will be too weak going into the pedal.
@@RudyBressers Ive got a Behringer Xenyx q802usb mixer. but it does not have any effects, so I thought this one might work. I've been looking for answers for days if this pedal would work. Thank you for answering. I appreciate it.
You're welcome :). I think that mixer has an effects send and return too, so it should work perfectly 👍

What do you mean exactly? :)

Does it have trails function?
Yes it does 👍
