The white stuff is called wax bloom and it happens when the wax separates usually in the shipping process. Not all of the pat mcgrath lipsticks will have the white film so please don’t go out and buy it just for the “frosted” effect. This IS NOT a colour changing lipstick.

I have this green lipstick when you put it on it slowly starts becoming a cranberry color but the lipstick doesn't change color it stays green and it doesn't stain your lips green only a cranberry color 💗 I recommend it!!

I used to have a colour changing lipstick called True Lips. It was a bright yellow/orange colour but when you put it on, it changes colour and gives you the colour that looks best on you. They'll TELL you it changes to "your perfect shade" but realistically, there is no technology in existence that allows it to calculate what your perfect shade is on the fly. That doesn't exist. That's not what it's doing. What it's ACTUALLY doing is changing colour based on your PH - which is why it looks different for each person. It's a glorified litmus test.

Been using that for years. I am horribly allergic to synthetic red dyes. If I used lipstick like anyone regularly would, my lips will swell about 3 times their size, which cracks the skin. That takes about two days to happen. Now my lips are oozing from all the liquid from swelling. They are cracked, sore, oozing. Tack another 3 days on. About day four, they are now down to regular size, but the cracking last about another week. Then, after that comes the bumps. They feel like fine sandpaper. Most people can’t see them, but I feel it and when I run my tongue over them, that’s what they feel like. It makes me feel like if I can just catch an edge, I can peel the whole thing off, but I can’t. It’s skin. We’re up to about 2 weeks now. Another week and finally the bumps are gone. That’s what happens if I put on any red dye. I have to be careful of medications, juices, candies, etc. and I wear a medical bracelet. Internally, it can make my throat swell and kill me. If a person hugs me and has on blush, I can be affected. Not as bad as my lips, but I can get a rash. My skin has always been smooth, no pimples, nothing. So if I get a rash, everyone wants to know what happened, especially since most times it’s on one side. That cheap green color change lipstick was the only thing I could wear even if it wasn’t the color I wanted. Now, Burt’s Bees is what I wear. All of their products are made with a natural dye from minerals, plants, and the carnelian bug ( don’t go yuck😁. A lot if you are using products with Carmine in it( bugs are dried out till they’re just shells. Then ground to a fine powder. So I’m safe with Burt!s Bees. Bare Minerals is Ok, but I have to watch some of their products. Forget Sephora. They still slip in a bit if synthetic dye and I can’t take the chance. But I’m going to check out the product she’s using. Wish me well! I mean it!

I put it on and there is a chemical reaction with my skin and it would turn a shade of red. It wasn’t the red I wanted, but it served the purpose. It was more a stain than a lipstick. Thanks for the warning. I don’t need a flare up. But I sure wish I could use your brand.
