I just love how the anime portraits Saitama and Genos, Saitama looks like a goofy idiot but he's actually a mass destruction killing machine and Genos looks like a emotionless killing machine but he's actually a "cinnamon roll too good for this world, too pure"
Genos was created so we have someone to compare Saitama´s power. Without it there is no scale, since we don´t know in-depth most of the villains. For example, there´s a reason why Genos almost always fights the villains first, so if he´s defeated, we know the villain is really strong.
@@The_Curious_Cat Genos is also a parody of a very high level super powered hero who keep getting beat down by the villains to prove to the viewer that the villain was uberpowered before it gets defeated by the main character, Saitama.
Theory.Saitama failed the writing exam because of his answers What if a monster appeared? Punch em. What if he is stronger than you? Punch em. What if he has a hostage? Punch em faster. What if he is waaay stronger than you.? Punch em seriously. What if he is way way unbelievably strong? Punch em with two hands. End of exam.
He probably got a lousy score because his reason for being a hero can be a terrible reason compared to a lot of the people in this show. Which is why most the monsters and people he tells get angry when he says "Hero for fun."
If you think Saitama's sense of justice is average, then you have also been dupe by that so call test. His deeds of moral (Which I don't want to talk about since they haven't gotten up to it yet) has clearly shown that he far above the average when it come to justice. It's just that Saitama is Saitama. Example: Question: Why do you want to be a hero? Saitama: It's my hobby.
I got the opposite honestly. He never seems to care that he is saving people, that he is upholding justice. He doesn't seem to care when he successfully defeats a villain, or ends an evil scheme. He always seems to be depressed, he always wants a STRONGER villain, which kind of goes against any sense of justice. He has a good idea of what a hero is intended to be, in which they should stand up to any challenge that they can make a difference in, otherwise they don't deserve to be called a hero. The idea that there should not be danger levels of disasters however, is a terrible idea. If all the C-class went to try and stop SeaKing, they would have been massacred. It would not have even bought time, as he could have torn through them in a second. If they all went to the meteor to try and stop it, the vast majority would not have been able to help in any way. Also, the wiki has the individual strength scores of each character, and Saitama has a terrible Justice score. Genos has his own score for Saitama, with it being superior to everyone, in most categories. But lets be real, Genos adores Saitama a bit too much to be an unbiased observer.
That's the thing now, though. If you see him from just after he started his training regiment his devotion to saving lives could probably be compared to Mumen Riders. Also you have to consider the fact that even doing what he is doing right now is pretty impressive considering if he wanted literally anything he could simply take it with no reprecussions. Instead he works for what he needs, sure he may pinch pennies but even that shows how he values not leveraging his power over innocents.
That's incorrect, in that very same OVA he was shown to already be aactively fighting monsters without recompense, the paid aspect simply added incentive. As to the average scale of justice, tell me what would the average response have been to a massively muscled individual who was walking around casually maiming people? I'm fairly certain the average person would have run and hid, if you think otherwise then you are either not an average person or deluding yourself.
That's the thing - few of the other characters are actually weak (Genos, Sonic, etc), it's just that Saitama's so absurdly strong that they just appear that way.
Yes they are pretty weak, genos for example cant even bust a meteorite, putting him WAY below the likes of naruto and others of around that level of power, and even low tier dragonball, not even Z
So was Saitama responsible for the creation of the Hero Association? It was established 3 years ago (which was when Saitama started training) when a stranger saved the grandchild of some millionaire from a monster, just like Saitama saved the ballchinian kid from the lobster monster....
And the wonderful thin is that Saitama itself dont realice the profound IMPACT that he has in the society, like the creation of the H.A or the "monster" that lives in his district... and he is depressed because of that
Belrevan First of all, a bad guy punched saitama, wow major spoilers. the crew sometimes couldn't even remember a character's name they just saw in the episode, let alone one the haven't seen before. almost no one notices the clouds split from the mosquito girl fight. even people pointing out parted clouds never mention this one for some reason. both the ground and clouds are split from that slap. in fact there's an argument to be made that the very first punch split the clouds because it was dark and dreary, then the punch with over head explosion, and then light out and blue sky. you could say every punch does it simply because of how strong his attacks are. in fact i believe the only ones not shown to part the clouds or even hint to it is the car guy in episode 1 and the power suit guy in episode 4.
+Iron Woodkid You most likely do if you comment on it, but you definitely are if you get mad from someone not mentioning it. Your comment is filled with passive-aggressiveness. Your nerd rage about it is pretty hilarious
The reason why Genos didn't got blown away by the Saitama's punch shock wave is simple. Saitama threw his punch away from Genos, then got in front of the shock wave of his own punch to protect Genos. You can see that the dust created by the punch starts a little behind than Saitama is curently standing at 7:50. I love the show because of these littles details, like the clouds curved at the end, implying that a huge wind hushed through.
No comment on the punching machine destruction from Eric and Shane? Genos is a Cyborg, which means he is a Human with robot parts. Androids are robots that resemble humans or try to appear humanlike. So the written test was all him and his human brain.
I mean, his cybernetic enhancements help him register information quicker, but I don't think it was stated that Genos has some sort of database filled with knowledge of everything, only things he has seen, known, and experienced. If the written test was about something like "What would you do if a monster shows up at City A" that's just a general question which just requires an opiniated answer and is graded based on the organisation's response to the answer given. Idk, they don't show what kind of test they give for the written test so it could just be anything.
the ranks are C, B, A and finally S according to ones performance during the entrance exam, heros are droped in a class coresponding to their scores. once you reach rank one in your current class you can request to be moved to the lowest rank in the next higher class so amai mask can, at any time, request to be moved up to S-class, but chooses not to because, as rank 1 he can prevent others who are weaker than him from being moved up to S-rank, he basically volunteers as a measuring stick for future S-class heroes, making sure that those who achieve the highest rank are truelly deserving of it.
Saitama actually influenced the creation of the hero association. When he saved the butt chin kid, the dad of that kid thought of making this association so villains can't harm people anymore. 🤓
Why did Saitama fail the essay and have such a low score? Well, with all the category types of threat levels and the different monsters that would be written into various scenarios, Saitama probably wrote "Punch it" in every answer box. Seeing as how it actually works for him.
To clarify on Genos, you can be placed on S class based on your scores and he qualified based on his scores to be on S class. The House of Evolution stuff just made him someone to look out for.
Nowhere is it said that perfect scores grant you S class, especially considering many of the S Class started as rookies, whose freakish power was later recognized. Being able to consistently defeat Demon level monsters on your own is basically a prerequisite for S Class. Genos has enough firepower to obliterate mountains, that alone makes him worthy of S Class.
the best thing about the show is, that sometimes they have that high quality 10/10 art. and then seconds later its like that "low quality"-stuff. love it.
If you look at the punch scene you see the wind comes from behind Saitama, which means he punched and then moved in front of the blast to protect genos. That is why genos wasn't obliterated by the punch.
Eric went straight into one of the main theories about Saitama's power: his obsession. There was a theory floating around about how the obsession of certain characters had led them into extreme changes, and Saitama's specifically was to not be the just strong, but to be the absolute strongest hero ever. Saitama moves faster than the shock wave and receives it in his back, protecting Genos. You can see it in slow mo. Such a great little detail the animators did
In the Genos VS Saitama fight scene, not only did Saitama's "death" punch blow a hole in the entire cliff, but he also put a hole in the cliff behind it as well. Another thing is that the Hero Association was made by the father of the butt-chin kid. The association was made to bring Hero's together because of the heroic acts of Saitama at the time for saving the butt-chin kid, although no one knows that because of how much Saitama has changed.
they literally already went over Genos backstory before the house of evolution episode, he was a kid when the doctor took him in and then to give him the strength to get the revenge on the cyborg that killed his family turned him into a cyborg.
The comments section for these reactions are awful because it's either people complaining about the dub, people complaining about them reacting to the show, or people complaining about what should come next
Haven't seen anyone else than you bring up the dub. But since you're talking about it, yeah, the dub's really bad in some places. Mostly the comedic parts.
I'm not sure if you even still read comments for this video lol but the reason Genos wasn't knocked over/obliterated by Saitama' s punch is bc Saitama moves in front of him to protect him from the shockwave. You can see that the wind comes from behind Saitama in the shot, which means that he had to of been further back when he actually made the punch. You probably already know this now since it's been a while but yeah 😂
I love the kind of excitement you guys show when you watch this show. I don't know, it reminds me of when people watch superhero shows for the first time in their life or something along those lines.
8:06 "That’s just the wind!" I can’t wait to see the feats that saitama has accomplished in the manga. Another "That’s just the wind!" moment happened in the manga but it’s the air pressure from saitama sneezing.
Loving these OPM reactions. Can't wait to see you guys get to some of the later parts of the series. From Episodes 6 on out, the fights and the over-arching story pick up incredibly.
Exactly. And the fact that he knew he lost control for 7 days means that he's probably done it more than a few times to know that it's a week long rampage.
the death part maybe amazing, but there is some thing to that. If you look closely, its not only the landscape at the back of genos was damaged, but also the the landscape next to it,maybe 30km away, just sharing guys.
They should definitely react to hxh, since its such a unique shone anime, and also want them to see mob psycho 100, funnier than even opm imo, well the sub atleast. although i'm really liking my hero academia so far, its nothing 'unique' its a standard shone anime, but i wouldn't really mind them reacting to that as well, haha
I wonder if they noticed the second wall of land being blown apart in the background too. It's a very small detail that I only noticed about a week ago.
BigFatSammich Also if you pay attention, the shockwave of Saitama's "Death" Punch actually came from behind him (its only a split second so you have to watch carefully) meaning he punched, moved In front on Genos i.e. protected Genos from the shockwave from his own punch!!! Unlike that poor mountain range behind him :P That was why Genos' head was not blown off....
Sammy Dray yup! That's exactly what happened. Saitama knew he would be too strong for Genos and simply showed him a tiny sample of his power(which still could've killed him) and stepped in the way to protect him from the shockwave. People often think Saitama isn't very intelligent due to his bored and carefree expressions but that isn't the case at all.
Saitama punched several meters away from Genos and what he did was to move super fast in front of him to protect him from the air wave. When the wave is blowing you can see that they are not in the same place of the origin of the punch
"Are those boobs on his shirt?" Yes, yes they were. If you look above it the shirt said OPPAI, which is Japanese for 'tits'. XD Totally appropriate interview attire.
Regarding your discussion around intelligence/knowledge. There is an interesting conversation in NieR: Automata between two machines. It went something like this. "Why should we even read books? We already have all the knowledge stored in our database." "Because it's only stored in our minds - only through reading it enters our heart." So that might give you an idea :)
I like to think that Genos is smart and has learned a lot mostly by his natural abilities, and that it is mostly his physical abilities that come from his cybernetics
The rankings are not based on strength and power alone, the second part of the exam, the written exam, appears to have higher priority than the physical exam. High class heroes are given rank mainly through feats of heroism and the mindset of a hero rather than their skill and power, unlike Saitama who has overwhelming strength and lacks the mindset of a hero. Higher class does not mean the hero is stronger, though Tatsumaki and Blast seem to be exceptions to that.
Genos vs Saitama fight is a absolute masterpiece it's so good that some of the new generation anime have gotten inspired by this piece of art!!!! Hands down the best Animation quality I have Seen I give a crisp salute to the animators
nice theory guys, but actually "Genos" can always be upgraded much in the same way as Perfect Cell from DBZ. and yeah he has all sorts of details stored in his membrain almost as "X"
Genos got S-Rank because he destroyed that building, but he scored 100/100 on his test as well, 50 for the physical exam and 50 for the written exam, because he even mentions to Saitama before they know their rankings that both parts of the hero registration were incredibly easy, referring to the two exams.
So, what happened with that punch.... it was directed towards the head, but the fist moved faster than the shock wave and the fist and hand protected Genos' face..... very cool stuff and control from Saitama.
here's my opinion about the discussion 1. hero association didn't know about carnage kabuto, the house of evolution's base they were monitoring got destroyed and suspected genos was the one who did it 2. genos wouldn't get an S rank if he didn't confirm he destroyed the house of evolution's base and just got a perfect 100 3. genos is smart enough to pass the written exam but being a cyborg w/ quick access to information got him the perfect score 4. genos' case isn't the same as general grievous, he was a regular 15 yr old boy when a cyborg murdered everyone else in his town and almost killed him. so basically the cyborg parts were doing most of the work and not genos himself, but he is improving as the series progresses not just because of the upgrades but also improving mentally 5. a brief explanation how saitama is that strong is he broke his limiter
WARNING, one punch man have more after the credits, watch until the end, and jump after the ending, you guys don't need to record, but watch that extra scenes for the past episodes.
There's a fan theory about the fact that he may have acquired his powers by reaching buddhist enlightenment due to his dedication and efforts. Becoming bald would symbolize that.
The Hero ranks are based on Japanese school Grades. In addition to ABCD&F they also Have S, which works like the American A grade. S= 90-100 A=80-90 B=70-80 C=60-70 D=50-60 F=0-50
Intelligence is literally how much information you can process. Meaning your ability to retain information is directly linked to intelligence. It doesnt make you knowledgeable. The other way around isnt necessarily true tho. Being extremely savvy in one field doesnt automatically make you intelligent. Savants are the exceptional example of this. A guy who cant even tie his shoes or hold a spoon can paint an exact replica of Tokyo after a 30 minute helicopter ride. This is an actual example.
The Blind Wave i know you guys like D&D due to the fantasy aspect and one punch man with realism of a character like Saitama existing in the modern day and having to deal with modern day problems. So i would love to suggest an anime that's a combination of the two. Called the Devil is a part timer, its a great anime thats worth a shot and anyone who sees this like if you agree.

*Episodes 2, 3, and 4 have all been blocked!*
Any anime scene:
Blind Wave: looks like Dragonball Z
The comments section for these reactions are awful because it's either people complaining about the dub, people complaining about them reacting to the show, or people complaining about what should come next
I see barely anyone complaining about the show and suggestions for the next reaction isn't really complaining.
Haven't seen anyone else than you bring up the dub.
But since you're talking about it, yeah, the dub's really bad in some places.
Mostly the comedic parts.
'That's just the wind!'
- Calvin
They didn't notice that Saitama is the reason why this hero registration thing was created
To be fair I didn’t either until I rewatched the series a few months back
How?
@@isaac4283 when he saved that cleft chin kid from the crab monster, his father made the association
Genos cyborg sensors showed up with “death” when saitamas fist came towards him.
8:10 - Look closely at this, and you'll see not just the clouds above split, but also a SECOND plateau in the distance split apart.
Without a doubt one of the best English dubs out there, well done from the actor of Saitama especially
I keep coming back to you guys reaction for one punch man. You all are the best reactors out here on youtube!
The animation budget for this show is inconceivable.
When they were watching this, they didn't knew that "rookie crusher" will be their new favorite role in any anime.
TONPA-SAN
Genos: I want to live here!
Saitama: f*ck no
Genos: I have rent money
Saitama: f*ck yeah
8:06 "That’s just the wind!" I can’t wait to see the feats that saitama has accomplished in the manga.
Another "That’s just the wind!" moment happened in the manga but it’s the air pressure from saitama sneezing.
Loving these OPM reactions. Can't wait to see you guys get to some of the later parts of the series. From Episodes 6 on out, the fights and the over-arching story pick up incredibly.
Carnage Kabuto's creator said "He's going to go on a rampage again" which means it's not the first time.
Exactly. And the fact that he knew he lost control for 7 days means that he's probably done it more than a few times to know that it's a week long rampage.
Amai Mask is a parody version of Light Yagami (Death Note). They even share the same voice actor in the Japanese version of both shows.
I'm so happy y'all are watching this show! Only 4 more days until Thrones!!!
One punch man shows that you can make an over powered character interesting and have a personality
8:14, THE CLOUDS TOO!!!
the death part maybe amazing, but there is some thing to that. If you look closely, its not only the landscape at the back of genos was damaged, but also the the landscape next to it,maybe 30km away, just sharing guys.
i hate how the english version skipped most of the dialogue during the saitama vs genos scene
Tubb inater It doesnt they just cut out half of the episode. They didnt show it.
8:09 Exact reaction when I saw the scene as Calvin. There are going to be few more plain jaw dropping scenes coming up. :)
That bird sound when he beats down Sneck is such a lovely detail.
My hero academia and HunterxHunter should be the next 2 anime reactions
They should definitely react to hxh, since its such a unique shone anime, and also want them to see mob psycho 100, funnier than even opm imo, well the sub atleast. although i'm really liking my hero academia so far, its nothing 'unique' its a standard shone anime, but i wouldn't really mind them reacting to that as well, haha
*+MobUrameshi* HxH is awesome but it will take too long for them to finish it with their one episode a week format.
HunterxHunter would be amazing but it's far too long for them to do because it would take them 2 1/2 years
Attack on Titan should be next :/
*+DildoGaggings* *Death Note should be next. There FTFY. :P
You guys i can't wait for you to see the later episodes, there are some epic showdowns!
Guys you're gonna notice as the story goes on that Genos case of taking credit for Saitamas achievements was only the first.
I wonder if they noticed the second wall of land being blown apart in the background too. It's a very small detail that I only noticed about a week ago.
BigFatSammich also notice that where the mountains were destroyed, Genos's face somehow stays intact.
Fidy Yam
just shows how durable genos is
Luis Ramos Or how much control Saitama has
BigFatSammich Also if you pay attention, the shockwave of Saitama's "Death" Punch actually came from behind him (its only a split second so you have to watch carefully) meaning he punched, moved In front on Genos i.e. protected Genos from the shockwave from his own punch!!! Unlike that poor mountain range behind him :P
That was why Genos' head was not blown off....
12:20 no. He will be legally called caped baldy. In fact so far title has not been mentioned in story at all.
If Blind Wave replied,it would be awesome, wish you guys the best
Hope u get it duddde
You will get it 100%,if they don't they fuckin sucks
You will get it
Come on guys, don't try to pressure them into replying to comments. You know it's a minefield of spoilers.
Loving your reactions for all vids you guys do, especially GOT. You guys are so insightful.
Saitama punched several meters away from Genos and what he did was to move super fast in front of him to protect him from the air wave. When the wave is blowing you can see that they are not in the same place of the origin of the punch
ooooo I didn't know that.
I think based on Saitama's obvious strength he should be considered at least Rank A.
fun fact- sneks tux is made out of a monster snake skin, nealry indestructible in fact.
"Are those boobs on his shirt?" Yes, yes they were. If you look above it the shirt said OPPAI, which is Japanese for 'tits'. XD Totally appropriate interview attire.
watching this in 108060fps is honestly the best thing..
Notice the mountain after the other mountain also has a GIANT HOLE!!
Regarding your discussion around intelligence/knowledge. There is an interesting conversation in NieR: Automata between two machines.
It went something like this.
"Why should we even read books? We already have all the knowledge stored in our database."
"Because it's only stored in our minds - only through reading it enters our heart."
So that might give you an idea :)
TheHappy_P0tat0 yeah, but clearly everyone knows that King is the strongest. wink wink
Genos vs Saitama fight is a absolute masterpiece it's so good that some of the new generation anime have gotten inspired by this piece of art!!!!
Hands down the best Animation quality I have Seen
I give a crisp salute to the animators
nice theory guys, but actually "Genos" can always be upgraded much in the same way as Perfect Cell from DBZ. and yeah he has all sorts of details stored in his membrain almost as "X"
Genos got S-Rank because he destroyed that building, but he scored 100/100 on his test as well, 50 for the physical exam and 50 for the written exam, because he even mentions to Saitama before they know their rankings that both parts of the hero registration were incredibly easy, referring to the two exams.
thank you guys been waiting for this.
I've always wondered what are they writing on those papers
The ranks from bottom to top are C, B, A & S where S stands for Super.
When Saitama finally gets his superhero name, it is, in fact, The Caped Baldy.
So, what happened with that punch.... it was directed towards the head, but the fist moved faster than the shock wave and the fist and hand protected Genos' face..... very cool stuff and control from Saitama.
It is rumored that Saitama only made a 21 on the written exam because in every question on how to defeat a villain he wrote "I'd punch it."
Love the "over 9000" reference (# applicants / 1.22) =D
8:10 that had drop tho lol, it was almost as big as mine when I first saw that shot lol
Genos is intelligent, he did get his full essay marks without a problem.
Oh! This is one of my favorite episodes.
here's my opinion about the discussion
1. hero association didn't know about carnage kabuto, the house of evolution's base they were monitoring got destroyed and suspected genos was the one who did it
2. genos wouldn't get an S rank if he didn't confirm he destroyed the house of evolution's base and just got a perfect 100
3. genos is smart enough to pass the written exam but being a cyborg w/ quick access to information got him the perfect score
4. genos' case isn't the same as general grievous, he was a regular 15 yr old boy when a cyborg murdered everyone else in his town and almost killed him. so basically the cyborg parts were doing most of the work and not genos himself, but he is improving as the series progresses not just because of the upgrades but also improving mentally
5. a brief explanation how saitama is that strong is he broke his limiter
WARNING, one punch man have more after the credits, watch until the end, and jump after the ending, you guys don't need to record, but watch that extra scenes for the past episodes.
Genos gets beaten up a lot, so it's pretty easy to forget that he's just as OP as everybody else, unless you watch that fight they have.
ONE has stated that Saitama hasn't spent a single dime that Genos has given him for his part of the rent.
S= 90-100
A=80-90
B=70-80
C=60-70
D=50-60
F=0-50
Guy on the right is perfectly correct. Dung beetle bullshit was there for saitama's overaction of the sale.
The one who took credit for Saitama's deeds is someone else entirely different :P That info should start season 2, hopefully.
The prize for the spicy noodle challenge is about $44.
"Are those boobs on his shirt?"
Shirt: Oppai⊙⊙
"I don't know"
Me: no, it translates to plot
The Blind Wave i know you guys like D&D due to the fantasy aspect and one punch man with realism of a character like Saitama existing in the modern day and having to deal with modern day problems. So i would love to suggest an anime that's a combination of the two. Called the Devil is a part timer, its a great anime thats worth a shot and anyone who sees this like if you agree.
I'm guessing that on the written test he just wrote "I'd punch it"
