  • Scrivener is a premier writing tool used by authors all over. But there may be some things in the software that you're not used to.
    In this video, I'll show you how to export your novel from Scrivener into manuscript format (what Scrivener calls compile) and how to save your own manuscript compile template to save you time in the future!

    Sir How did You convert it To Word Doc please

  • @TheGuardianofAzarath

    Interesting, i've been using scrivener for a couple of years now to write fanfiction, i usually do one chapter per 'scene file' as they would appear when compiling, i just find it flows easier than keeping all the scenes in their own files (especially for something i'll be posting to AO3), then when i'm done with a chapter i just go 'file>export' rather than 'compile'. But i've recently given some thought to tackling some original work, so i decided to take a look at the 'novel' template and....yeah. :P

      @ZSDiamanti  7 місяців тому

      😂 yeah. That’s kind of a different beast for sure. But if you’re already pretty familiar with most of Scrivener’s ways, it shouldn’t be too difficult for you. 🤙

    I am so terrified Scrivener is going to ruin my novel. I do not understand the compiling stuff. Once it compiles can I still go back into the story and make more changes?

    • @ZSDiamanti
      @ZSDiamanti  Рік тому +1

      Absolutely! Once you compile it into a Word doc, you can still change things in the Word doc or go back and change it in Scrivener and recompile. What I do is write the book in Scrivener, compile it to a word doc, and then upload it to Atticus so I can make it pretty and format it so that it will be a beautiful book when I export it as an EPUB or print version. 😊

    I’d have to view this clip several times to benefit from all the information. Certainly useful. As others have suggested, the music is a distraction. And a little less pace on the presentation would be kind of you.

      @@ZSDiamantiThanks for your gracious reply. I’m new to Scrivener but using it to write a non-fiction story. I originally wrote the story in Word 10 years ago, and had a whack of research in folders all over hell’s half acre.
      And so many drafts!
      My effort was the literary version of Where’s Waldo.
      I chose not to pursue publishing it then, but now I’ve renewed my efforts, importing everything into Scrivener.
      Oh boy. Scrivener is the light at the end of the tunnel…….finally.
      I will spend some more time viewing your excellent clip once I get the manuscript where I want it.
      Best regards!

    Thanks for tackling this subject, but if i may offer some constructive feedback, the music makes the video totally unwatchable for me. Not just in the loud sections. I'd get rid of it altogether.

    How do I get rid of the # between sections of a scene and chapters?

    • @Kramrevilo666
      @Kramrevilo666 10 місяців тому +1

      I may have figured that out, can you tell me how to get the chapters to separate, when I compile they run together

    • @ZSDiamanti
      @ZSDiamanti  10 місяців тому

      Ah yes. So each chapter has to be in its own folder on the left hand side. Also, did you figure out the scene breaks thing?

    • @Kramrevilo666
      @Kramrevilo666 10 місяців тому

      Still working on the chapter issue, figured out the scene breaks I think.
