+samsonpker I just bought myself an 03 4runner sport with 260,000 miles on it. Paid 6500$. Runs like a charm, 4runners and Toyotas in general have very high resale price because of their reliabliity.
It's April 2021 now & this 2003 4runner is still up to par with a lot of SUVs now a days, i'm sure equivalent 4runners from around 2003 are at least half the asking price of $17,900 that this SUV was.
Dude it's a toyota, that's why it's worth so much. Sure, you could get a p.o.s. 7 year old car for 5 grand, but if you want quality it costs money. You're obviously not aware of Toyota quality or how they retain value like crazy
I love this car! I have has a sr5. I guess they lost the keyfob huh? you missed the power outlet in the c. console, the buttons on the left of the steering column, and kinda the sub in the back. I know you had no way of knowing but the front two seats make a bed/recliner, the tailgate doesn't needs to be slammed but you let it click shut and it'll do the rest, back of c. console silver is trash bag holder and it looks like they broke one of the two horns sorry Im very OCD about this. great vid!
area859 V8 or V6. I have not had any major problems with mine except a timing belt change and just regular maintenance. Their was a headlight that wouldn't come on but that was a simple and cheap fix, so yes they are very reliable the only problem I have with 4Runners is the mpg, it's bad especially on mine yours might be better other than that it's great.
There's one for sale for $8999 with 129k miles, it' low mileage for the year but i'm kinda terrified to pull the trigger on it...about to go test drive! It has the V8 engine and it's the limited edition with leather
area859 one thing I don't understand is why do the V6 4runners get 10 more horsepower than a V8 it's weird as hell, good luck hope everything goes smoothly. Make sure to floor it 😂😂😂😂😂
You all need to become more aware auto markets. 4runners are VERY desireable SUVs. Put one of those in 4WD and it'll take you anywhere. They retain their value like mad. That's why my buddy got offered 6 grand for his 94 4runner with 160k miles. Talk to any 4runner owner and they'll tell you 2 things: 1: Yes, I love my 4runner 2: Yes, it is worth a lot And no, I don't own a 4runner. I'm just aware.
I have been looking at '03s thru '06s in these and have to say the dealership did a remarkable job cleaning up and /or refurbishing the underside and engine compartment. The usual application of black undercoat and engine 'steaming' is either WAY too obvious or just looks like crap.
i'm a fan of the 4runner, looking at 'em now in fact, but for an '03 i'd prefer the 6 cylinder...the 8 cylinder got a boost in '05 to make it respectable, but V-8s pre-'05 aren't worth the price premium imo...
@jwatwater I guess they lost the key fob. This suv idk why but one horn is broken and only one is working lol. and I always thought it was tougher than the previous generations but that's my opinion.
Thinking of buying either this generation or the 96'-02' as a first car. Anyone encounter anything bad or really good about these cars? How is gas mileage?
a 1996 limited was my first first car and it got great gas mileage and was comfortable and reliable with over 200k miles on it. some people get theirs over 300k.
A friend of mine has a 4Runner almost just like this, same color and everything--except its a 2006....but what I've noticed is that the brake and accelerator, they're very weird and awkward when using them....it's like braking and accelerating was very touchy and abrupt, and it was practically new..... wondering if anybody else has driven one and noticed this?
i know you shouldn't but you should floor every car just ones, its not that their gonna break :P this max 2000 rpm thing is buggin me, especially with the good sounding v8's, ok lets just say whenever you film a v8 suv or sports car you should red line it , do we have a deal ? :D
@DmpPure SUCKY. 16 city 20 hwy. Says the review. my sister had the 2004 model, I loved that car, but there's no way it got that good. She would spend $60 to fill it up (when gas was a decent price) when the gas light was on. Awesome car. No complaints other than gas mileage.
wow... no power locks? my moms 2001 has power locks... eh... keyless entry is what I mean, and both front windows are auto. her horn is very easily to accidently hit. I never did really like this model 4Runner, it looked to... "soft" to me. not like a true suv. but still, a nice video
I love the big woosh the I-force v8’s make at startup
this is an 03 and was for sale in 10 for $17900 with 92000 miles. that shows you how indestructible these things are.
+samsonpker I just bought myself an 03 4runner sport with 260,000 miles on it. Paid 6500$. Runs like a charm, 4runners and Toyotas in general have very high resale price because of their reliabliity.
Bryce Ogilvie woah buddy, that was not a good deal my friend. I paid $6,000 for a 2002 with only 121,00 miles.
this is one of thoes small stealerships.
samsonpker I'm in the process of selling my 02 but nobody is buying it ):
yea i know bro, I have a 1999 limited works great.
Great vid. I'm buying one of these next month and I'm so excited
did you get one! I did haha! :)
you get the 03? How is it? I just bought myself one with about 185k. The car shakes when I brake... I'm guessing the brakes...
Mustafa R Sounds like you have warped brake rotors.
Got a brake job done. Problem solved! Seized callipers was the problem.

Saabkyle- you the man. Ive seen some of your other reviews- and this is a car i am actually probably going to buy so good to see all the ins and outs!

beautiful suv, but im getting mine for less than half that with only 10k more miles
the 2003-2009 Toyota 4Runner was assembled in
Tahara, Aichi, Japan
Hamura, Tokyo, Japan
I love my 2002 4Runner SR5 only has 149,860 miles
I'm looking to get a 2004 4runner limited with 130k miles? should I be concerned? are they reliable?

There are any V6 version of it ? Limited
Isn’t it weird that this gen 4Runner had a V8 and the Tacoma never had a V8?
Yes.why didnt toyota put a v8 in d tacoma.4.7 hmmm
@@tashinasimpson1927 Not worth it, most who want a V8 want the bigger Tundra.
be careful, kyle, dont let the pedal get stuck!
I love Toyota 4.runner Ltd
So SUVs can have a rear window that goes down?
Not all of them. Not all pickups, either.

Sold my 94 for 4k this year, 150,000 miles
I have the same 4runner as this one is .. But uh, It has a LCD / Navigation and a better meter plus many more features
13,000 miles more and 8 years after this video was published . Bought mine for $2800 :)
From your mom?
These just don't die although the older ones might be a bit more reliable due to the lack of silly electronics.
hey kyle, can you do a 1997 limited 4wd if at all possible, if you cant find a 1997, 1996-2002 would be fine, id really appreciate it, thanks
does this car have the autostick ?

Why does everyone care so much about it's price? This video was made so we can learn more about it. STOP COMPLAINING!
whats the miles per gallon just asking
Not tooo loaded. Same engine as the first gen sequoia, you should do a vid on the new Toyota sequoia!
Can you please do a 1999 Toyota 4Runner SR5
Can You Please do a video on a newer 2011 Ford Taurus
Any videos on 4runners before 2003 like 2000 or so? That's the style I like. I Love the power window on the lift gate.
@Goldenrod636 toyota sequoia, 1st gen tundra, some 2 gen tundra's, all 4runners, and land cruiser. I dont know about other car makers
Can you please please please do a test drive of it ,already thanks :)

+Speedysnail9999 you've probably gotten something by now but both the 3rd and 4th gen 4runners are amazing. I've owned both
I waited for the whole video to learn about the buttons on the dash to the left of the steering that you didn't discuss :(
I agree with dawoud47.. you don't sound as excited as I usually hear on you other vids..

Alejandro Peralta I wish bro looking at 05 sport edition v8 with 200k and they want 6k it’s mad nice tho

DmpPure it's about 18/24 but you never get that. My dad has a 2003 and gets bout 16/20
Why does this look like the 2005 Tacoma but the 2003 Tacoma has the old design?
same for sequoia and tundra
Hello, I wonder if I can buy a car like this for $10,000!??
It's that much because it's a certified used Toyota.
@jameswwe2 not on a 4runner, thats prob like 15k, really look at blue book.
@paonmao00 come to california. there are so many cars here for dirt cheap.
Can anyone help me out? I want to confirm the engine weight of toyota 4runner 2004 v six
Why don't you just turn the hazerds on
The interior looks a lot similar to the Tacoma.
it's made off the Tacoma base

im buying the same car for 2400$ one owner and no accidents and no problems
TOYOTA should've discontinued the 4RUNNER in 2000 and bought it back in 2010. with the design like the way the 4RUNNER is today.
I’m more of a fan of the 3rd gen models (1996-2002)
Elijah Films Agreed only positive this one has over those is no pink milkshake.
This truck represents a bygone era of Toyota over engineering.
17K for a 2003,92K miles?!......GTFO.17K you get a get a good new vehicle.
