- Walt Disney World’s EPCOT used to be about celebrating the future with friends from around the world, but these days it seems like it’s more about DRINKING around the world with your friends. Are EPCOT’s best days behind us, or is there more of the Old EPCOT left over than we think? It's time to get OLD SCHOOL at EPCOT!

NOTE: In this video, Breedlove mistakenly says Dame Judy Dench is the 3rd narrator of Spaceship Earth when she is in fact the 4th. The original narration from 1982 to 1986 was provided by Vic Perrin!

There needs to be more Breedlove here on AllEars! Thank you for sharing your love of Epcot ❤
Totally agree! Breedlove videos are the best!
I would love to just spend a day in the parks with Breedlove!!
Same… when I win the lottery and I will.. I will have to see if he is available to come with us to one of the international parks
Honestly used to think Epcot was boring. Now my eyes have been opened over the last few years thanks to all ears. Cheers for the tips.
1982 EPCOT is almost unrecognizable with the lack of IP. Oh, to go back to those days! 😢
It's frustrating. I understand that it's safer to make an attraction based on an existing IP, in the same way that it's safer to make a sequel or remake when making a movie. But just like that industry it churns out occasional hits and a lot of middle of the road stuff that just qualifies as "fine but kind of uninspiring."
Wake up to find we’ve been blessed with a 1.5 hr-long Breedlove video 🙌
Breedlove videos are good for my soul ❤. Back in the 90's I lived in Florida and we used to go to EPCOT every year as a class field trip!
New Breedlove video? You know we're seated and ready to be entertained
Such a perfect video for Breedlove to do!
I absolutely love this video. The history lessons I get from Breedlove are always valuable imo. Learned a ton this time.
OMG I just got so hyped, I genuinely just wrote a research paper on what remains from classic E.P.C.O.T, this video is like a cherry on top for all my hard work! 💖
When's the video coming out? I need my fix and Yesterworld/Defunctland only update every couple months anymore? 😁
What are the odds that that opening day map would have still been there at the front of the park? Breedlove should go buy a lottery ticket.
I thought he brought it from home...
Bucket list addition: Spend a day with Breedlove... the nostalgia, the memories, the feels... everything about this video is amazing, especially our host!
I love Breedloves knowledge on Epcot! love this park!
LOVED this video!! I hope Breedlove does one for all the parks!! Breedlove if you see this, thank you for being you, I love your enthusiasm and the joy you bring in your videos! Honestly we need more Breedlove videos ❤
In the late 80’s I visited EPCOT as a teenager and was kinda bored. In the 2000’s I went again several times and enjoyed the country offerings of food and drinks. I just recently took a trip to with my husband and daughter and it was hands down the best experience for all of us between the rides, Journey of Water attraction, shows, characters, and the food festival offerings we enjoyed it all.
Breedlove ❤
35:11 To answer Breedlove’s question from the video, Schmitt Söhne IS still in business! I just had a bottle last week in memory of 1982 Epcot
I'm going to Disney in the summer for my make a wish and you guys have made me do much more excited. I really hope you guys understand how helpful you are. Maybe when I come we could meet up and do a challenge together.
As always, Breedlove is THE best. I remember Epcot ‘82 very well. ❤️
Great video and coverage of old and new. I have such fond memories of EPCOT from when I was a kid including talking to Smrt-1 in Communicore, Kitchen Kabaret in The Land, the OG Figment, and selecting the ending of Horizons.
This was such a great informative video! I would love to see Breedlove doing this series at all the other parks.
Love the singing coming out of guardians - real joy of a shared experience
I first visited EPCOT on a school trip in 1986 and it blew my mind! My favorite theme park keeps getting better. Thanks, Breedlove!
i may be among the youth, but i was born at the wrong time. i LIVE for "old epcot," it was absolutely the most charming disney park ever. i loved this video so much, its a good way to accept that the past is the past, and that we wouldnt have the amazing attractions we have now if it werent for giving up old epcot.
I just love Breedlove's conversational style, knowledge, and sense of humor. Keep the videos coming, Breedlove!
So glad to see another Breedlove video!! Would love to see more of them.
Just wanted to thank Breedlove and AllEars... I worked in Epcot for three years and you guys continue to show me things that I didn't even know about the park that I once called home. Keep up the great work!
Breedlove you need to do more of these!!
When is the Breedlove Best Vegan Eats series coming out??? I want one video for the parks, one for resorts and one for Disney Springs. Please 😊
Merry Christmas and hugs Breedlove! ❤️🎄☃️
Breedlove, you just about made me cry with Figment growing up with us. He was little when we were little and now he's grown up because we're grown up 💜🥺. I never thought of it that way, but it fits.
This video is absolutely perfect. I can feel how much he loves Epcot and all of the nostalgia it brings him. I can totally relate to this. Please do more videos like this BL. Maybe do a series of decades for Epcot. You can do the snacks or food that still remains etc. It’s so interesting and brings all the good feels 🥹❤️
My husband has the same relationship with impressions de France - his dad would blast it in the car! We may very well be rope dropping it on our trip in a few weeks!
Wow! What a great video!! Thanks Breedlove! We need to see you more on AllEars! This was so informative and reminded me of what used to be there. You are old school Disney and I love that!
Where did you get that map?? That is awesome!! And such a fun activity navigating Epcot from the opening day map! Breedlove and his soft ice are back in full swing…
What a great video! It was so nostalgic and I didn’t realize how many things are still in existence from opening day. I tend to focus on how much has changed but World Showcase, in particular, has a lot of original offerings. Excellent job, Breedlove!
Great video Breedlove! I've been wanting to see this exact video about EPCOT and now I'd like to see one for each park. It was so neat to see what was still there from the opening day and what also what wasn't there anymore.
Some wonderful cinematography! How about a series about the best photo-ops in the park? Not just Photo pass/Memory Maker, ride photos and meet and greets but also secret spots with great views of park icons and rides!
Loved this!! Love old Epcot ❤
This was great! Thanks for bringing back a bit of nostalgia Breedlove!
Thank you. That was fun!
Wow! That map brings so many memories ❤
Had to watch this great vlog before I could go get ready to visit my favorite Christmas Market of the season. A lot of things I never knew about.
Love this video! Breedlove is the best!
Thanks for the stoll down memory lane. I was a young teen opening year, and my family went to Disney World every summer. I remember opening year at EPCOT. I thought it was the most amazing park in the world. Great episode.
albeit a longer video, I LOVED this! Taking a stroll down memory lane was amazing.
I honestly think this could be a series. I know y'all talk about opening day attractions at MK a lot, but what if breedlive followed and old map from either the 70's or 80's around MK and then did opening day map tour or HS as well. This would be so fun!
9:11 classic breedlove
Schmidt Söhne is still in business. I love their Rieslings.
I can’t believe that Breedlove has a map from the opening of EPCO in 1982. What other memorabilia o you have stashed away. More videos like this please.
I remember Earth Station from my first Disney trip in '96. We made a reservation for the Mexico restaurant!
I remember taking my son in 2004 and he did the Hershey experience or whatever it was called.
Well who would have thought that Reflections of China takes you on a journey through Mexico... Lolol
I loved this, like Breedlove I'm very much an old school Epcot person.
What a cool video! I’m sad that I didn’t have time to watch it until now, but I’m super excited that there are two more in this series to watch (and hopefully another one coming). Getting to see the old map was SO cool! What a great map!
There are a lot of things in Epcot today that I’m so glad we have, but there are so many things I wish we still had. Like Horizons! As someone who doesn’t like Mission Space (even Green mission!) due to claustrophobia, I would love to have Horizons back, especially since I never got to experience it. I’m sad that I didn’t get to ride Soarin’ on my last trip since it’s back to the California version (pine is definitely better than grass! Also, oranges!!), but I only got a half day in Epcot, so I didn’t get to. And I know Maelstrom wasn’t an opening day attraction, but that’s another old attraction that I miss. It was underrated and I feel like the Frozen ride that replaced it was a bit of a letdown. But on the brightside, there is still so much classic Epcot in the parks! And some of the new stuff, like Guardians, Remy, and the new Walt statue area, are absolutely fantastic!
being Canadian... I too am laughing at the price of those Coffee Crisps...
You missed looking at that boss Epcot rsvlts style shirt in the camera center!!
Great video….he always does a great job. What about Voices of Liberty? I thought they were also original within that first year….they are the BEST!
This is the Best Video Breedlove has done.
BTW. I Live in Maine on Canadian Border. I would never pay that much for a Coffee Crisp.
That's brutal pricing!
Is the Mexico ride Fry's favorite because there's no height restrictions?😂 JK, Ms. Fry, we love you dearly.❤
SAVAGE!
As a Canadian i can attest that that kid was 100% correct lol. The Canadian pavilion is all stereotypical kitsch but we love it just the same 😂. Coffee Crisp is typical chocolate bar price at home, so roughly $1 Cdn. $4.50 USD is highway robbery (approx $6 Cdn)
I may sound like the Boomer that I am (barely-- I was born in 62), but back in my day Epcot was way more cool. In my opinion they replaced the more interesting and informative rides with generic theme park rides.
Love old Epcot!! Sigh!! Breedlove was singing with you Listen and you’ll hear the heart beat of a Universe Teaming with Force!! See all the forms and the faces of nature taking its course!! Love Listen to the Land also!! And of course Universe of Energy!! (Even miss the stinky Dinosaur smell😂😂😂 Horizons please come back this ride was awesome and World of Motion!!🎼🎼
Kringla og cafe had ponjebolle, so delicious. Can't find it on Google or anywhere.
Where did you get that Epcot center map from? I would love to buy one for myself
58:15 I'm late to this video, loving it! But yeah $4.45 for a Coffee Crisp is hilarious😂 I'd say they are worth maybe 1 US dollar. $1.50 maybe with inflation, if you're in a fancy grocery store
I slept through the American Adventure
$4.45 USD (~$6.00 CAD) for a Coffee Crisp?! They're like ~$2.00 CAD over here (in Quebec at least). I love our Canada pavilion but oof that's definitely a price hike!
Love a BL video. Keep them coming x
When did Wonders Of Life Pavilion open? 🤔
i came here to say this!!
Desperately seeking Ponjebolle that was delicious chocolate confection at Norway or snap can't remember snack shop
Love this comparison…can we expand this to all the parks over time…80s, 90s, 00s and now? Also, error on china pavilion section regarding the wonders of china…check your writing 😅
I never saw the original Universe of Energy, but yeah, I miss the Ellen & Bill Nye version...but I LOVE the Guardians ride, and kudos to them for working in the original theme! (By contrast, still bitter about the Great Movie Ride....)
Meanwhile, while I've ridden Horizons...I don't remember being particularly passionate about it, and I LOVE Mission Space. (Plus, the Horizons logo is also in the queue line, in the middle of the model cylinder space station.)
Never rode the original World Of Motion...because 1996. 😂 BTW, the "Fun To Be Free" theme can still be heard in the queue line, around where you're designing the car!
I'm with you on Figment, of course. And I miss Honey I Shrunk The Audience. 😢
And AGREED--Food Rocks was fun, but Sorin' is THE BEST!👍
All that's LEFT? Or all that's RIGHT?
(Are you left or right at Epcot)?
You have to include u
EPCOT=excruciating polyester costumes of torture
C'mon, man. If you're going to do a historical video, please get it right. This is the FOURTH version of Spaceship Earth. Vic Perrin preceded Walter Cronkite for the first few years when the park/ride opened.
Also, I was crushed when they got rid of the horses and chariots running down the streets of Rome in this FOURTH version.
We don't know for a fact if it was Vic Perrin who narrated the first version of Spaceship Earth. It is a highly debated topic
