When you think of this medically he had to have made a conscious decision to take the entire impact. To not brace himself at all...he braced his child and took the impact. THAT is a father. God bless you and your family.

She absolutely will & that is hard to hear. I hope her Memories of her dad hugging her will help her know he loved her so Much & with that she will be able to heal & overcome this difficult guilt.
She has an amazing family around her that will help her through this.

That dad was a hero! It’s a terrible loss, but the father did what probably every parent would want to do for their kid. I hope Laney knows he did it out of pure love, and knows how much of an hero her father was ❤️
They must have known that they were going down and so he wanted his daughter to be in his arms when they hit. She must have felt so comforted even at a time like that. I wondered after the Kobe Bryant crash, whether those parents had the chance to hold their kids as they hit the ground. I hope that they did.

It’s amazing she survived. You can tell the mom is still in shock and processing what just happened. She lost the love of her life but still gets to hug her daughter. I hope her daughter doesn’t have survivors guilt. As her dad wants her to live her life to the fullest. He made sure she would have the best chance by protecting as much of her as he could. If her dad wasn’t there she might not have survived.

What a story it made me cry. Maybe Airplane seats should be Big Teddy Bears Hugging the Captain and Passengers to maybe help in a crash. It wouldn't hurt. Her Dad was a Hero and now an Angle looking after his Children.
I never even thought about that... but for real if they made the seats to "hug" you, you'd think it'd save lives. The intoxicated driver in car crashes survive more than not because their body is relaxed.
@@mrs.elentz2336 That is what they say but have we ever seen or read the Medical report or Science experiments on Alchol and Crashes and Survivers and None Survivers ? I was in a 55mph crash in Florida. My Sugar went down I skipped lunch and I was on my way to have dinner and I just blacked out and woke up upside down in my suv the seat belt on and I unlocked it and fell down and it was like a Dream 100percent. It was foggy from the Airbag going off. I founf my Swiss army knife in one sec and 3 times I tried to break the glass and did not work so I crawled to the back and found a window broken and my dog was with me and we crawled out and a man was right there to give me his hand and we sat on the grass waiting for EMS and Police to arrive. I came to from Low Blood Sugar I believe because I was Upside Down in my SUV. It was like a horrible dream. I remember knowing okay straight from here no major stops so set the cruise control to 55mph and then I blacked out. Nothing happened to me and I was not drunk or on the phone. I was relaxed from the Blackout of Low Sugar. So if we know we will be in a Crash just Relax Imagine you are Just Air or A Cloud or Water or A Spirit not holding Form like Human Form. My Old English Bulldog Nena she was in the back seat with 2 King Size pillows around her go figure lol. Maybe that saved her. We never hit each other and thank God she did not fly out the Windows she had No Seat belt on. Omg I am crying remembering my Dog. She was like omg. She lived for several years after that. She was relaxed and laying down and did not have time to see or sense danger. Be safe this Holiday Season 2021.

Our property is right next to theirs on Beaver Island. I can say without a doubt his last effort saved the life of Laney. Mike was a gracious individual and truly and awesome Man. We will miss seeing him on the island. Truly a sad loss for his family as well as Beaver Island and his mainland home of Gaylord. God Speed Mike.

This particular story appears to solely focused on the miracle survivor with no disregard of the others. Likely there are news coverage of the entire passenger loss elsewhere. This story was about a Miracle 🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐🛐💕

Those small planes scare me. I trust commercial airplanes. This is so sad. May his soul rest peace.
This was the first time in 70+ years of this air taxi service operating that they have had an accident. This is with flying the same route back and forth from Charlevoix multiple times a day, and even more during the summer.
Until we know the facts we can't blame this on a small plane being the reason. It could have been the pilot, weather, airplane, or all three in some capacity.

This company has been flying that route for over 70 years without a single accident. How many airlines can say that? Also, we don't know what the issue was, so I wouldn't blame the aircraft on the accident. Until the facts come out I'm not blaming anyone.
