I like the stockpile idea a lot, I'm guessing you're seeing it as a place where you can draw your building resources from remotely? I'd 110% support that
You're talkin' a cloud system. That would be interesting. As it is now, when I build on a server,I EXPECT to be encumbered and just give up doin' anything for the next hour or so. I even started role-playing and create an "at home" outfit(usually the starting stuff just dyed)so my characters can relax while workin'.
Return To Moria has this exact system. Basic building material and resources can be stacked onto pallets and then can be accessed for use anywhere within range of the base they're located in. But that game also has a "pull from all chests within range when crafting" as a whole, and I would LOVE to see that in Conan as well. Especially since multiple benches and stations will use the same items to make different things. If we could just stock up all our leather in one box and then automatically get used whether we use the blacksmith bench or armorers table, it would make this game way less frustrating.
You and me both, though I think the dev team are aware of it already. They've leaned a little more into larger windows with Sandstone Timber, Yamatai Towers etc, I think it's more as and when it fits. Sets like Dungeon or Aesir didn't need massive windows, but I think we'll see more across the board as more stuff releases
I like the Blueprinting idea, I think from an IG perspective, they could add a new Thrall, an Engineer, that could be interacted with to Move and Blueprint. The Engineer would then walk over to the piece you targeted and effectively take a snapshot using the targeted piece as a center point, with T1 Blueprint a column area 10x10 foundations, T2 15x15, T3, 20x20, & 4T Architect would be 40x40. Then you simply travel with the Engineer to the new build location set down a Foundation Block and interact with the Engineer to build here. If you have resources on the Engineer, they'll use those to start building, if you place Storage chests nearby the Engineer will resources from the storage chests. Engineer would only build if resources are available and a build project would be visible when the construction Hammer is active.

Thanks for the video. A snap blocker would be perfect, there is nothing more irritating than elements turning while building, and sometimes when I turn them out of habit, it turns out that they start to snap in as I want, but I automatically turn them the wrong way. Turning the elements around is probably the most time-consuming part of construction. As for changing colors, it would be enough to provide a few shades for each set. Let's say three, but delicate, to maintain balance and atmosphere. Generally, if the developers came up with a brilliant idea and finally reached an agreement with the modders, the game would gain many mechanics that have existed for many years, but not in the vanilla game.
Thanks Piotr! Having to rotate pieces on a big build takes up a lot of generally tedious busywork for sure. I did think, after uploading this video, that a couple of dev-created alternative colours could be a good compromise to what a mod like Emberlight offers. Curated so it doesn't break the game's art style, but also offers a lot more flexibility. The only issue I could see is that it might increase the price of building sets past the standard, given that more work has to go into creating the separate color schemes. Then again, an increase in sales from that feature might alleviate the extra time spent on it
Like actually? More internal walls. I legit enjoyed the additional sandstone pieces but all the building styles need the same treatment. Also, whatever I think of Funcom and Conan Exiles as a whole I gotta tell you Eradicati0n you make amazing content and you are a pillar of our admittedly small and at times toxic community. Keep doing what you are passionate about.
I've gotten used to the lack of internal walls, so much so that it doesn't really pop into my mind much, but there's a lot to be said for the internals in a set like Yamatai, I'd definitely like to have more. Thank you for the kind words too, the game's definitely in a rough state but I'm super passionate about it, I'm glad it comes across in the videos! :)
Agreed. I do feel like a lot of what mods do could easily be implemented into the base game, including the painting system. Although with the painting, I'd rather see a set of pre-determined colors or at least a hard limit on how dark or bright they can become.
I'm not why the button you suggest for locking orientation is even needed. All that's needed here is for the rotation to be kept from the last piece you added. Piece was pointing south, I rotate north and build, next piece points north. My top wish would be stairs/ramps on shallower angles, so for example you'd need two pieces to go down one full block. Second I'd love to be able to freely rotate and flip pieces. Take a look at the 4 angled walls, they're all flips and rotations of the same piece. 7dtd offers all possible rotations of things and that basically makes it so you get like 16x the possibilities with just the same base pieces.
Just wanted to drop a comment as a new sub and new Exile! Your "EBA" builds were the Bait and I've been hooked on your channel ever since 🙂 Keep up the great work! As for a building suggestion: More an observation really... As Conan and Valheim have very VERY similar build mechanics (Structural Integrity included) The corner pillars is def a big one on my list of "Please fix this!" but I was also wondering if, even though I haven't seen a build video of yours yet that features them, if a "Top Builder Mods" video might be in the future plans? One's you yourself indorse or would 100% use. Of course, as I only have the base game so far, mods are my go-to for building aesthetics currently. Although the "Hyborian" DLC is a big temptation after someone mentioned how versatile the Stable Pillars are 😎 Thanks again for the awesome content!
Welcome to the Coffee Cult Ozz! Glad the EBA builds managed to reel you in 😂 I've covered mods here and there, but not in any great detail, as unfortunately the console guys don't have access to them. That being said, I do still spotlight mods from time to time. Northern Timber always stands out to me as one of the best, lots of care and attention went into that mod and it really shows
@Eradicati0nn I've looked into that mod but as I've only recently ventured into the highlands area, it didn't seem to really fit anywhere... Of course now that I'm binge watching your settlement series, I think my final "End Game" build will incorporate the EBA builds all together to do something similar as your settler series has done with the highlands area. Thank you for the warm welcome!
As a Space Engineers player, blueprinting would be a huge quality of life improvement in this game. The other one would be ground recontouring over somewhat flat ground where you can move gradients around for better construction element placement and more space efficiency. Maybe not entire hillsides and mountains but at least enough to flatten a small bump or eliminate a small dip or change a small change in grade
I'm sure the existing BuildingRecording feature could be utlised to create a blueprint feature by the devs. It is finicky and can crash a lot on larger builds, which is probably why it is rarely used (and often forgotten). I found it useful on PVP servers that I hosted for rebuilding map rooms quickly on the odd occasion that somebody would forget to read the server rules.
rounded corner pieces would be my suggestion and cut down on lag a shave.think of instead of 6 pieces to build a rounded tower it cost 4 or 2 instead of 3 for half rounds. I saw large window pieces as well and I am totally onboard with that. I know you can just make a doorway and be done with it but it would look nice to see a window sill. also I had a suggestion long ago witht art pieces they had in conan. It would be nice to be able to import a pic inside of those frames. createing scenes you would be able to see rather then what they want you to see. you could even create an art gallery with them or costom pieces with them.
recoloring might be feasible if it's limited to T1 and T2, and a select set of natural or dulled colors like black white grey, dull blue, dull green, and dull red and yellow, a brown or two and that's it I also think the game could really benefit from an additional T1 and a new T2 set. Something inbetween the colors like grey stone and mossy roof pieces, simply calling it vanir hut. these exist in mods but could really round out the vanilla game's build sets.
I don't know if you've ever played it, but Conan could learn a lot from Ark Ascended building system. I played around with it a bit when it came out and they have fantastic functionality that would solve some of the points you mentioned in this video. The stand out is each piece can cycle through possible placement locations easily, which lends to more functionality like the corner columns issue. It also reduces the amount of pieces required. The orientation lock is a great idea also as is the blueprint system. Fallout 76 does this. Redmage777 also mentioned the fantastic idea of uniform pieces in every build set. That is so frustrating to be missing a basic piece half way through a huge "on the fly" build.
I actually originally started on Ark (the first version) and moved to Conan, Ark's building system was a nightmare for me, whereas Conan's always felt better. I've not played ASA though. I do remember Ark having native corner pillar support back in the day though, which always confused me as to why Conan didn't have it, considering it was better in many other facets
Half walls (horizontal and verticle) Half foundations/ceilings, quater walls/ceilings/foundations, double doorways (two foundations wide, one or even two high) Interior walls (walls that have the same appearance on both sides) Skins! Maybe I want a t3 base that looks like t1 set. Why sell a building set on the bazaar when it's essentially redundant as it's t1. Ark has skins on Ascended and it's fantastic. Pools. Just let me have a swimming pool or a bathing area without having to build on an already existing pool of water.
we need a better ramp rather than a 45 degree angled one. having 2 sloped foundation pieces that when put together would make a 30 degree ramp. Also fix the elevator snapping as it's driving me insane! I can snap elevators everywhere except where I actually want to place it
We also could use the fact of our character still bein submerged in the grounded when we load in or fix the fact that thralls or still bein gone missing they still Never fixed that from what I am hereing
Different wall heights, 1/2 and 1/3 wall heights. At the starting base, one wall height is too low for me, I can't stand it. I always think that my character is constantly hitting his head on the ceiling. Two high is too high for me. Being able to color the pieces would be great. The developers don't have to give us hundreds of colors right away. How about special color variations for the sets, for example for the pyramids: standard sandstone, white and black marble. Then it would be another plus point to get the set.
Well this would be nice, fortunately i play on my own server with about 50 mods that just add those features, but people on consoles and on official servers would love it for sure. Having to use tricks to do things that should be available is quite annoying
I wish we could save our base somehow, I have years of progress on an official server, built a whole city and then some, did so knowing It wouldn't last forever but now that the time and money has been spent I would pay money just to be able to save what I've done and load it up into a single player save.
Yeah a way to preserve your base would be ideal. You can of course have the world save on private servers/singleplayer, but if you just want the build, there's no solutions without mods unfortunately
22.5 degrees slope roofs (like in Vallheim) much better astetics for building ziggourats, greco roman temples etc... The 45 dgree angle is just too boxy
You're talking about changes and they haven't even got living settlements up and running yet. And I still cannot access the bazaar. The battle pass and bizarre have very rarely loaded on my Xbox.
I would love to be thinking about nice fun to have extras that currently don't exist in Conan Exiles. So much chat is dominated by the many bugs and problems with the games current state. I love your ideas here but they feel really unlikely considering Funcom is having a very hard time just keeping the game running.
What funcom really needs to fix is how Liu fei is broken and everyone abuses him in pvp because he can consistently make himself and nearby tribe members literally invulnerable. It's a game breaking bug please UA-cam man use your vast influence to help the community. This is insane
I play this game on an official Xbox PVE server. Nobody has a reason to visit other players bases in this game. The developers have made some extremely poor PVE design choices IMO. Other games like Fallout 76 are a lot more PVE community focused. Here are a handful of examples. - All doors are locked. Nobody can explore what you build. All doors should default to unlocked on a PVE server. - You cannot set up a vendor to sell things to other player. Why isn't there a thrall for that? Seriously! - You should be able to unlock your crafting benches so that other people can use them. - You should be able to create blueprints. - Building free cam should be enabled on PVE servers. - You should be able to double wall. Please refer to Fallout 76 for more information about that. I don't want to write a wall of text so I'll cut it off here.
FO76 definitely handles inter-base social interactions well. I've wanted a merchant system in-game for a while, that would probably cause quite a bit of movement between bases for people to check other people's shops. That being said, FO76 does have fast travel, so I don't think it would be as effective in Conan. As for the rest, I agree on most of it, especially unlocked benches. A communal crafting station is something everyone nearby can appreciate
I recently got into Conan Exiles after playing Fallout 76, and totally agree with you. Even with all the bugs in FO76, the building and the community that has grow from it, is awesome and I love visiting people's camps to see what they have done. And being able to apply wallpaper to walls to alter their appearance is a nice feature
@@BraveSirPaul I have about 300ish hours in FO76, it doesn't really command my attention or passion as much as Conan does. I've got a fair few criticisms of it, but the game definitely does encourage visiting other people's bases, trading etc, which is a massive community bonus
be able to build a small lake by the base. So no need to go and build always close to water. And to be able to plant some palms around as well. Console players.

Although with the painting, I'd rather see a set of pre-determined colors or at least a hard limit on how dark or bright they can become.
what I want are taller/steeper roofs.
Smart suggestions. All my clan mates support this ideas.
Love these ideas! All of them would be great!
Two things I often find myself wanting are double doors, and stairs wirh a railing on only one side
7dtd offers all possible rotations of things and that basically makes it so you get like 16x the possibilities with just the same base pieces.
native double sided walls would be incredible
Able to place walls on the side of foundations to stop that small lip of a overhang would be great if we could do that without mods.
Glad the EBA builds managed to reel you in 😂
I've covered mods here and there, but not in any great detail, as unfortunately the console guys don't have access to them.
It would be nice to be able to import a pic inside of those frames. createing scenes you would be able to see rather then what they want you to see. you could even create an art gallery with them or costom pieces with them.
recoloring might be feasible if it's limited to T1 and T2, and a select set of natural or dulled colors like black white grey, dull blue, dull green, and dull red and yellow, a brown or two and that's it
I also think the game could really benefit from an additional T1 and a new T2 set. Something inbetween the colors like grey stone and mossy roof pieces, simply calling it vanir hut. these exist in mods but could really round out the vanilla game's build sets.
I agree 100%!
@Eradicati0nn Original Ark building was a tough time.
100% agreed to everything mentioned.
More roofs, inclined, etc
Half walls (horizontal and verticle) Half foundations/ceilings, quater walls/ceilings/foundations, double doorways (two foundations wide, one or even two high)
Interior walls (walls that have the same appearance on both sides)
Skins! Maybe I want a t3 base that looks like t1 set. Why sell a building set on the bazaar when it's essentially redundant as it's t1. Ark has skins on Ascended and it's fantastic.
Pools. Just let me have a swimming pool or a bathing area without having to build on an already existing pool of water.
i just want a rooftop pool in my desert castle tower..
i wanna overlook my people from the comfort of my excess..
we need a better ramp rather than a 45 degree angled one. having 2 sloped foundation pieces that when put together would make a 30 degree ramp. Also fix the elevator snapping as it's driving me insane! I can snap elevators everywhere except where I actually want to place it
I would ask for 1 single thing, the same thing I always ask for no man's sky, 1 single piece. A triangle floor that is exactly half of a square floor.
More glass window would be appreciated.
We also could use the fact of our character still bein submerged in the grounded when we load in or fix the fact that thralls or still bein gone missing they still
Never fixed that from what I am hereing
Different wall heights, 1/2 and 1/3 wall heights. At the starting base, one wall height is too low for me, I can't stand it. I always think that my character is constantly hitting his head on the ceiling. Two high is too high for me. Being able to color the pieces would be great. The developers don't have to give us hundreds of colors right away. How about special color variations for the sets, for example for the pyramids: standard sandstone, white and black marble. Then it would be another plus point to get the set.
Yes - half walls (both horizontal and vertical) would be nice
Conan needs much more than building changes 😂😂
I would love to be thinking about nice fun to have extras that currently don't exist in Conan Exiles. So much chat is dominated by the many bugs and problems with the games current state.
I love your ideas here but they feel really unlikely considering Funcom is having a very hard time just keeping the game running.
I have often wished I could change the ugly sewer mud color of the arena set, give me regular stone or anything but what it is.
have they removed microtransactions from the game yet?
right angle triangles.
What funcom really needs to fix is how Liu fei is broken and everyone abuses him in pvp because he can consistently make himself and nearby tribe members literally invulnerable. It's a game breaking bug please UA-cam man use your vast influence to help the community. This is insane
Make journey steps completeable again im still.stuck with master chef 👨🍳 journey step
Sorry wife took my phone xD she was bored
@@alexzanderblough6264 sry my bad
Don't give them ideas or they'll decide its time for CE 2 and we have to pay for all DLCs and content twice.
Overall, all changes are very welcome.
BrBravo
lol, conan management hearing its clients... that is 10 year old joke
