Can you add a feature to Studio where you can import photos (like of the push stick you were trying to duplicate) and create the shape by tracing over it? It would be helpful to have.
I am with others on this one.
Over £100 a year for a basic app is a kick in the teeth after spending over £3500 on Shaper, Station and accessories.
Can't believe Shaper has only one single line font on tool, hopefully they will add more on next update.
Can't wait till Studio is available for purchase.
How about a discount for shaperlabs users who were unknowingly acting as Guinea pigs!
Grazie di ❤....
Can you please do a tutorial on studio on the iPhone? I can’t get shape shifter to combine shapes. It just keeps toggling between them. Thanks
Currently shadowing this session...... and I'm experiencing the same bug. Absolutely INFURIATING!!!! AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!
Totally looking forward to Studio! Thank you!
Name of the website is spoken so fast, unable to read from video, makes it impossible to follow along. CC appears to be wrong as well. Frustrating.
This looks awesome, can’t wait to get it!!
I was hoping so bad that this would not be subscription based.
They said it is offered in a free lite version (same features as the Labs beta)
I don't see the poll, but I'm looking forward to this so I can make quick designs and adjuments on my phone that are immediately available on tool. This should be a game changer!
Any update on when this will be released? Great show.
A point is a 72/1” it is a printer measurement
Looking forward to using this for custom engravings as well as engravings my maker mark on projects
Kind of wishing you guys would do like a monthly thing with like autopay. Think it would make it easier for some people to "buy in"
On this clip at 54:31 the cut is online. notice how the other letters disappear? What if you wanted to do relief carving with the letters. But the letters are so close together you might remove too much material and the next letter. How can you make it so you continue to see ALL of guide lines?
Any chance there will be a future feature to be able to set custom angles? I typically use Illustrator, but setting precise angels is the big shortcomings with that solution. Would also like to see the ability to draw custom shapes and move CVs like Illustrator.
Can't wait for the product, but one question. How come it's $99 in America yet £109 in the UK?
£109 is equal to $125 doesn't seem right for a download with no physical shipping. i would buy this outright but questioning the subscription
I would also prefer a one off price rather than subscription. Would be nice to have access with registering the shaper serial number or something along those lines.
What bit did you use?
Awesome, I will use it to customize Flags
This I want for my Origin!
I have tried to make the push stick 3 or 4 times. I can not get Shaper to create the handle. It always selects the entire triangle in Shape Shifter. I've even overlapped the circle over the triangle by ridiculous amounts and it still will select the entire triangle. Any suggestions? Thanks
Best to send some screenshots to support@shapertools.com
Can there be a line making tool, also an align an object with another object function (say move this shape to be at the same position in x or y or center? if so i would find this to be much more useful.
Thanks for the feedback! We'll pass it along to the Studio team.
great video, thanks! but in all honesty, saying Fusion 360 or Illustrator are 'hard to use' and 'require huge learning curves' is like saying the Ford F250 is too big a vehicle to get your groceries … lol
I'm really glad I know how the pen tool works so I don't have to care about this at all.
on the actual push stick handle, the knockout that your hand goes into is a curved lozenge shape, sort of like a hot dog … the one you sketched is straight … can Studio 'bend' shapes to curve shapes? it's pretty simple in Illustrator, as is the rounding corners in shapes without doing the adding / subtracting shapes thing you went through to round the handle …
Would it be possible for the shaper to do halftone images?
Very possible! It would depend on how you designed and planned the cut!
I’m ready! Great work from the team. Can’t wait
can you do more complicated designs, like furniture, or is it geared more toward crafts?
How do you get access to labs?
I want to make a teak floor for boat gangways! You know, with all those square holes.
Audie stop saying aaah,m and am ,a a aaa , you know ahhhhh am PLEASE !!!
Shaper Studio is practically useless, it is no Illustrator, Infinity Designer or for that matter even Inkscape. Charging a subscription for something so basic and lacking in features is insulting to Origin owners!
8:50 "I've been destroying my laptop with dust....I hate bringing my computer into a shop." Exactly--we don't want to use a computer for shop work! Shaper Studio is a big miss--you can't simplify digital design by creating yet *another* software application. What's needed is more *on-tool* features so you don't need a computer.
You seem to misunderstand something - the tool is software based to begin with. While the on-tool design features are useful and they keep adding new version updates, but there is not a chance that the firmware on the tool can produce the advanced vectors and paths that an actual vector image application can. What you call "a big miss" is what everyone else sees as a big win because their choice to have their own software web-based gives us the flexibility of using any device with a web browser (i.e. the smart phone in your pocket) to produce and manage designs with pre-planned cut types. And it's offered in a free version to boot. This is a win, plane and simple.
@@du3lmaul3rs50 Recall the software release notes for the Box Joint Basic Extension: "Make box joints with ease on-tool--no computer or physical templates required!" *This* is what I think we need more of. What about an "Advanced Extension" for box joints (different finger widths)? What about dovetails? Or a mortise and tenon wizard? Or 2D gear outline generator? Using a touch screen on a smart phone doesn't seem to bring much of an advantage when you could use the touch screen on the tool. On-tool updates will become less frequent because the team is spending resources on developing Shaper Studio. We've already seen this with no update since 2021-Jul-19 and it is 2022-Oct-12. Shaper Studio aims to be simple, not do "advanced vectors and paths" that these others already do: Inkscape (free), Illustrator (tons of learning resources), Affinity Designer (similar to Illustrator and ~$55 perpetual), Fusion 360 (free for hobby), as well as others that run on a browser on your phone. As they add features to Studio, it will create a new learning curve. You can't solve the problem of "woodworkers don't know how to use vector design programs" by creating another vector design program.
