- Do not Buy RCA/AV To HDMI Cable.In order to switch and run your devices from RCA/AV to HDMI or HDMI to RCA/AV setting you need an adapter. This cable is of no use and to demonstrate this i will try to use it with a few different devices.

Good that you made this video with the demonstration. I bought this cable before seeing your video with the need of connecting a laptop to old age TV. Failed !! From your video I could see, the other direction as well (HDMI towards output) this is failing.
I had to buy this cheap made in china cable with this doubt in mind but to give a try as nothing else was available at local market.
It says, that this cable is no converter. The converting process must be available on the console itself to work without a problem.
What if we’ve been using these wrong the whole time? What if instead of it going into a TV with HDMI? What if the HDMI is supposed to go into something that has HDMI like maybe a Blu-ray player and the other end is supposed to go into a TV with composite cables or AV input
I bought that and that does not work i tested with multimeter av wasnt connected to the wires

It probably will work if the resolution was 1024x768. Because HDMI needs a minimum resolution of 1024x768. And with no upscaling what so ever. It isn't possible :)

No it will work on nothing, that’s the point of the video.
Too late i already ordered this useless cable and it doesnt work with anything, the ebay seller had "no returns or refunds" that should have clued me in. The low price lured me to buy it, when in actuality you need the converter with a box where you can plug a micro usb with power into it. I blew my HDMI ports out on my large screen tv, the now the right cable and box does the trick ( cost around $25) on ebay.
You hooked it up backwards. The rca has to be at your source. And hdmi on the TV. The TV has to covert the analog over to digital. The cable is passive, it cannot do that work.
Not every TV can do it either
I just bought one of these to plug my vcr to and hdmi monitor... Ugh. Good thing it was only 5 bucks.

No problem Porla you only need an Hdmi male to male cable one side of the cable will be connected to your set top box and other side of the cable will be connected to your projector thats all. And if your set top box does not have an hdmi port than you have to buy RCA to Hdmi converter Adapter. I hope it will help. Thanks
Hey! I have this nice 55 in TV that I bought 6-7 years years ago, and sadly, both hdmi ports aren't working anymore. Since it is not a smart TV, it's pretty useless now that I can't conmect anythint modern on it (switch, apple tv, laptop with hdmi, etc.). Is there any way I can make something work with this TV via the RCA ports with some sort of converter ? Thanks for the help!
I know that it's the point of this video, but I just hate that I might have to throw such a big and expensive TV (paid around 700-800$ back then) just because it can't hdmi 😅 it would only be worth using with older consoles/devices like certain dvd players or a nintendo wii or older consoles lol.
From what I've seen, it can be done! If your tv has RCA ports, you can use a HDMI to RCA converter (requires power). I've seen people do it with with Chromecast/Roku/Fire sticks. Make sure the converter goes the right way! Check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/w45q499WeU8/v-deo.html

From Tv Rca to Hdmi for audio = you need Adaptopr box
From DVD /blu ray Hdmi to your tv Rca you Adaptor box.
cable is only for Tv Hdmi to rca Audio

Dixon marcel Dixon marcel, thanks for your feed back. i am sure your video player’s USB port is a one way port only can be used for receiving the data Not for sending the data).so audio can not be transmitted usb to usb what else you can do, you can extract the audio from Hdmi port or audio RCA port or auxiliary to USB port of your mini hifi audio system. its analog to digital, it needs to be converted, your device cant convert analog to digital so you need a hdmi to rca that includes a converter
Buy HDMi 2 AV or AV 2 HDMi it need USB 5v to convert it should look like small box.

It doesn't work, because you're supposed to use RCA (component) output to HDMI input. It doesn't work the other way around like you had.

When u plugged the RCA jacks into the TV u shld have been on AV not HDMI setting. That's why they didn't work.

That’s because you connected it wrong. An rca to hdmi cable is not meant to upscale rca to hdmi. How this cable works is you plug in an hdmi device first, then connect it to rca on the tv and it should work. It’s like an hdmi2av adapter but built into a cable.
