The worst part of the Venom movies as compared to the other garbage Sonyverse movies is that there was a potential for them to be good. "Let There Be Carnage" should've elevated the franchise and apologized for the misses of the first movie, but instead just reinforced the mediocrity of them.
This always had mediocrity written all over it. It just has that B-grade look to them, which Sony Pictures is really good at, unless they get the right people somehow like they lucked out with Sam Raimi and such. - But I mean, any next movie was never going to "elevate" anything but perhaps the budget. They just didn't get it and kept doing the same crap.

I just saw this last night. It was NOT good. The story felt unfocused, and Knull felt misused. The Carnage film was better than this one, and I didn't even care for it. For comic book films, drone antagonists should never be the main antagonists. They are boring. Characters were killed off without emotional attachment, like the detective who was butchered. I felt nothing, but it should have had more impact. You can't have a high-level threat with characters not taking shit seriously. You didn't see any major jokes in Infinity War for a reason. Come on, now. The gag with him having to change his shoes was not good. The dancing scene was random. I'm sorry if it feels like I'm going on a rant, but BFFR.
The Worst of The Trilogy? Dude the ENTIRE Trilogy is awful. Tom Hardy is a phenomenal actor & he does the best he can but not even he could salvage this DOA film series. Both Tom & Venom deserve a better movie than these 3 stinkers.

Sony is going to let us down when they inevitably water down Knull in the next film. He is an omega level threat that makes Thanos look tame in comparison. I have no faith they will do his character justice like in the source material The King in Black.
I think what happened was, Disney wanted to bring one more goofy character into the MCU as fanservice. Deadpool and Venom were competing. Deadpool was a hit. Venom was a flop. So Deadpool got a free ticket to the MCU, Venom got sent home. Either that or Sony somehow managed to renew their character license.

Building up the Sony Verse this far, they should've had Venom going up against Morbius or even Vulture, since he's in that timeline now and then they could've had Keaton drop a line about battling Spiderman, which could build towards a possible Venom cameo in Secret Wars.

The problem with Venom is that he requires a VILLAIN ARCH FIRST in order to work. Anti Hero's all need either that, or the traumatic story of how exactly they came to be to fuel their violence and rage (ie the Weapon X project). Unfortunately, the "professionals" at Sony don't understand these fundamental aspects of basic ass storytelling 😂
Sony don't know how to build a superhero universe for starters. If they just put Andrew Garfield back in and whatnot then it might make sense again. He deserves his 3rd movie. They really needed to make an AS3 when it had momentum after NWH.

Anything that had to do with Venom and Eddie were good, there was so much filler stuff that literally had no part in this film like the hippie family breaking into Area 51, there was no reason for them to be there...they were there just to nearly die and get saved, it's so dumb. And the wasted potential on the symbiotes, most really cool looking ones just die in a matter of seconds...LIKE WHY?!
I wasn't interested based on the original trailer. It started off decently enough with a serious tone, but then even the trailer jumped the shark and it just looked horrible.
The first Venom was ok. It wasn't great, but it wasn't the worst thing I've seen. Some parts were stupid while some action scenes were decent. The 2nd movie was absolute GARBAGE. Some of the worst casting choices I can recall, dumbing down the violence for the rating, and also having a terrible overall story. It went from decent to garbage in the span of 2 movies. I had zero interest in seeing this and...I didn't. I didn't even bother with this crap and all I've heard was how terrible this was (to the point where the 2nd movie is better). Sony has been really putting out some garbage lately.
Venom 2 is TOTAL garbage/shait! Carnage and Venom should destroy the city do something huge destructive brutal. Venom1 was solid good. Venom should be a DARK/SCARY action blockbuster. ONLY 18+.

The first Venom was ok. It wasn't great, but it wasn't the worst thing I've seen. Some parts were stupid while some action scenes were decent. The 2nd movie was absolute GARBAGE. Some of the worst casting choices I can recall, dumbing down the violence for the rating, and also having a terrible overall story. It went from decent to garbage in the span of 2 movies. I had zero interest in seeing this and...I didn't. I didn't even bother with this crap and all I've heard was how terrible this was (to the point where the 2nd movie is better). Sony has been really putting out some garbage lately.
Let be real, this entire Venom series sucks.

Venom 2 is TOTAL garbage/shait! Carnage and Venom should destroy the city do something huge destructive brutal. Venom1 was solid good. Venom should be a DARK/SCARY action blockbuster. ONLY 18+.
First one was the best one.
Second one had a Huge opportunity with Carnage to be Rated R and flopped Hard
This one, had a few cool moments. And is better than the second. But not by much.
