    "All life comes from a single moment of creation. Some 3.8 billion years ago in some bubbling mud pot or deep ocean thermal vent. Some little bag of chemicals twitched and became animate and than miraculously reproduced itself. Everything that lives now on earth, or ever has lived, descends from that moment. We are all built from a single original blueprint. I don't believe there is a more important or remarkable fact in the natural world, indeed in any world, then that one." ~Bill Bryson

    The Urey - Miller experiments of the early '50's were a good starting point for determining if early Earth's conditions could produce complex organic chemicals. Now that we have a better understanding of the pre-life conditions on Earth, I hope scientists can refine the experiments further. This is truly one of the great mysteries.

      Little has been done since the Miller/Urey experiments in the 50's. All of those amino acids were racemic meaning they were left and right handed structurally. You have to have non racemix acids(one handed). We do not have a good explanation for how early earth dealt with that.

    I will suggest a better way . First of all we need to create wormholes . Those wormholes can take us to another part of the universe or in some other galaxy that is 4.5 billion light years away from earth. Now create a massive telescope there , and watch earth from that distance . Light rays reaching that galaxy will be 4.5 billion years old and hence you will be able to see early conditions of earth .

    The ancients had a god for everything. Now we only need one to explain the origins of life. Someday too that will likely become moot.

    How did life begin on earth? The simple answer is that it was created. Although evolution is taught as fact, it isn’t actually true. The fact is that life comes only from preexisting life. A wide gulf separates nonliving matter from even the simplest living cell. When Darwin published his book The Origin of Species more than 164 years ago, life seemed simple, but since then, science has discovered that cells are enormously complex. That functional complexity bespeaks purposeful design. Interestingly, in his concluding sentence in that book Darwin said that life must have been “breathed by the Creator into a few forms” of life. Not evolution, but the Designer and Creator of all living things should get the credit for the staggering variety of animals, birds, fish, flowers, and so on, that make our lives so enjoyable; not to mention our amazing bodies which are perfectly designed to enjoy them.

    • @impalabeeper
      @impalabeeper 2 місяці тому

      Single cell organisms are complex, but not as complex as multicellular organisms like humans, plants and animals. The organelles of single cell organisms are fewer unlike in multicellular life. The organelles of single-celled organisms perform more basic individual functions and interacts with other parts to perform other functions that creates synergy to the overall biochemical reaction within the cell. But this is on more limited basis-- like eating, metabolism, responding to stimuli and excretion. More complex multicellular life forms, on the other hand, can perform more. The behaviour and metabolism of single-celled and multicellular organisms are incomparable. Scientists could easily observe almost all the behaviour and metabolism of single-celled organisms and run out of what are to be observed when studied long enough. Because they're simple life. Whereas, multicellular organisms have more complex matabolism and behaviour, which is harder to understand. That's why we have the science of toxicology, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics on humans and animals to understand how (bio)chemicals interact with the body.
      I should mention that the number of base pairs in DNA and amino acid function of single-celled organisms are easily sequenced, or identified and catalogued. It took weeks, months or just a couple year formost bacterial cells to be sequenced in the early days of DNA fingerprinting; but 13 years for the entire human genome to be sequenced. Many more genome projects are still undegoing as we speak And many of these findings found that much of the DNA in almost all organisms do not serve any function for the organism to live. If that is by design, then it's a very inefficient and wasteful one.

    • @SojournerDidimus
      @SojournerDidimus 2 місяці тому

      @@SojournerDidimus Some of the junk sequences have shown to have functions. But with respect to the creationist argument that everything is by design, these junk DNA are waste and pointless to begin with if a supposed creator put them there in the first place.

      @@SojournerDidimus Majority of DNA sequences in all organisms turned out not to have any functions and thus you can live without them. Hence, the term "junk DNA". If a designer puts them there for purpose, then what exactly is the purpose of putting them? It's a waste of energy to replicate DNA with all these useless, non-functional sequences. That does not sound intelligent, purposeful design to life if there is a supposed creator, would you not agree?

      Actually Luke, earth created God. We are a product of some beautiful and chaotic chemistry that occurred on a very different earth billions of years ago. The universe created the earth, the earth created life, which gave rise to humans, who devised and conjured up our ideas of gods. This was to serve many needs of our long begotten ancestors providing some solace in believing that death was not the end of life, that we are special and created above other life. God offered comfort to the sick and vulnerable, enabled powerful people to better control their subjects and helped bring people together with common ground (it also did the opposite when conflicting views clashed and many died for these foolish beliefs.
      We created God. We are God. This is the only life you have. If you want to know what death is like, it's actually quite simple: it's like all the time and moments that occurred before you were ever born. You don't exist before your birth and that's essentially all death will be - not existing.
      We shouldn't believe something just because it feels good to do so.
