I appreciate your perspective on the art process beginning at concept and sitting in your own stewing state of mind. I think the tendency for me is to "just make something pretty." This video reminds me there is more to the final product than visual relativity. My takeaway is to create something that makes someone feel. After all, beauty can be a fleeting thought and my favorite artists made overwhelming impressions on me lasting years. Thank you.

Me too. I love the prettiness and cleanliness of magazines photography. When I paint my desire is to express myself but the “make something pretty” is a real obstacle and it gets me overwhelmed and unfocused.
