I have a Fitbit Sense and the face came off in August 2021, 10 months later the replacement did the same thing. I never get it wet, I do sleep with it on for sleep tracking and such. Fitbit said they will give me 35% off on a third watch, will not replace it. I have owned many watches from this company but I will never own another one again!! Starting my search for a new fitness tracker!
One point that many others complain about. The ability to go on a run or hike without phone. Really? Isn't it a big safety concern to ALWAYS have your phone when you are away from home? Hello!?
Fitbit is offering a 40% discount on Sense due to a “potential” battery fire on the Ionic. I’m wondering if this is really a gimmick to get rid of excess inventory?? I have used Fitbit watches for several years. I like the concept of heart rate monitoring, but I have found it not to be all that accurate and there are instructions on locating the Fitbit on your arm/wrist and inch above the wrist bone. During exercising times the heart rate is at least 10 to 15% above what I measure by counting my pulse in my neck region. Hence, it really isn’t great in calculations calories burned if it is that inaccurate. The other thing is that to see the time one has to tap the watch face or press a button. My Ionic really needs to be hit forcibly to activate the display. Then there is a 2+ second delay for the display to be visible. Really annoying. It is convenient to read text messages, but don’t think I would ever use the talk on phone through your watch feature on the Sense unless I want to be like “Dick Tracy”. Not certain the sleep function is all that accurate either. There seems to be discrepancy between my Fitbit Ionic and my SleepNumber bed (but then, I don’t have great faith in a bed determining how well I sleep (perhaps another gimmick?). I do like some of the screen apps for daily fitness stats, but don’t know what developer have done for the Sense. Not certain if I’ll return my Ionic for a 40% discount on the Sense, especially with the knowledge that the Sense will be obsolete in the near future (which will mean another discount being offered to purchase the latest and greatest). Thanks for the review.
No, the Wyze watch does not have all the same features. The Wyze watch fails on the following: - No media controls - No downloadable apps - No responding to texts - No answering phone calls (no mic) - Heart rate monitor is not reliable in my experience so far - Very limited skins - Very limited health data options - No ability to set screen timeout - Step counter is unreliable The Wyze watch is _definitely_ a $30 watch and is not comparable to the Fitbit Sense, even without the options you mentioned.
You are partly correct. Many of the features of the Fitbit Sense don't work in other countries. In Canada it was a year before the ECG feature was turned on. On my Galaxy watch 4 the ECG and BP feature still doesn't work in Canada. It really depends on what Country you live in as to weather these watches are better than Wyze, I will be purchasing the Pixel watch when it is release in May. Look for some more comparisons
@@TechforSenior You did not negate anything I said, however, you responded as though you did. I am not "partly correct" I am _entirely_ correct. Nothing I stated is incorrect, and if you want to actually provide substantive contention, rather than a mere unsubstantiated claim, _specifically_ point to what I said that is not correct. You claim "many features of the Fitbit sense don't work in other countries." For one, this is not a negation to anything I have said. For two, like what? You didn't provide any examples for this, aside from a feature that currently works ( so, not relevant). You then moved on to talk about a Samsung smartwatch, which is a different product entirely. As I have sufficiently explained, even without the very few things you mentioned, the Fitbit Sense is in every category equal to or vastly superior to the Wyze watch making it the better smartwatch. This is objectively true based on the pragmatic utilities offered by each watch.
Thanks for watching my video and taking time to comment. I don't share your opinion and suggest you watch this video ua-cam.com/video/Kb-5GvQ_dW0/v-deo.html . I will be purchasing the Pixel watch and testing FB Sense, GW4, and Pixel watch to test the sleep tracking feature.
I've been looking for an app that will collect my steps, blood pressure, blood glucose, water intake... I find my Samsung Android phone adequately monitors my steps. It can even measure my SPO2... I'm not sure I completely agree with your wish for LTE since I'll always have my phone nearby, but it would be nice to go on a run without my phone. It seems that nothing will connect to all the other apps. I was interested in the ECG part, but not sure I'd buy the watch just for that. I am a gadget guy, but $230 is a lot for a watch when I usually use my phone.
Great video Dr Brown. Yeah the Sense is heavily discounted now, but historically Fitbit follows a 2 year release cycle for its product. Which would tell us that the next Sense/Versa should ideally be launching next year. But the discounted price does make me anxious as I am looking to buy one, but don't want a new product to be dropping in coming months. ECG functionality is finally available in India but the same is not the case with Samsung Watch Active2, so that makes Sense the only watch for Android ecosystem to offer such functionality. One thing I would like to inform you Sir, the display technology is called AMOLED (AMO-LED) which means Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode(LED). Anyways, I really liked both your videos. I was looking for a review, but strangely, most mainstream tech youtubers have given the Fitbit Sense a pass, so I came across your channel. Looking forward to more videos.
Thanks.. In medicine, there is a term amyloid . I have to train my brain to use AMOLED. Thanks for your comments. The biggest dislike I have is the lack of Apps. Just bought the Samsung Galaxy 4 for review.
@@TechforSenior I thought exactly that, that you have most probably mixed it up with amyloids, that's why I made a note. Samsung Watch4 looks interesting but all its functionalities like ECG etc won't be available in India as usual (even Galaxy Watch3 hasn't enabled it). Looking forward to your Watch4 review. Please do mention if the all watch features can be used in non-Samsung phones as well or not. Stay safe.
That depends on why you want the watch. From a Cardiac point of view they offer no benefit as you already have a pacemaker and in most cases is monitoring your heart.
Thanks but the pacemaker monitor doesn’t let me know what my heart rate is, only the heart institute. I like to know how fast it is pumping when it feels like it is really working.

Apple watch with LTE lets you go anywhere without your phone and is still functional....calls, texts, etc.
Not a senior yet but subscribing… liked your review of the Sense

@@cloudoftime Nice video certainly, So what model and what brand do you suggest for the similar features other than the wyze
Misleading video. One great reason to buy Fitbit is that their sleep, heartrate and other trackers are very accurate in comparison to the competition.

You Mention Blood Pressure. The Galaxy Watch 4 will do your BP in the US version

As I have a pacemaker, which if any of these watches would you recommend?

Do they have magnets in them?
