Škoda 14Tr and Škoda 15Tr trolleybuses in Szeged, Hungary

On 05.08.2024 I was visiting Szeged again after 4 years. Even though the CNG powered Ikarus 260 and Ikarus 280 buses are no longer in operation in the city, the masterpieces of Czechoslovakian industry still don't let the transport enthusiasts get bored. Both Tatra trams and classic Škoda trolleybuses are still in use in the city.
On this trip I focused on the latter. The solo Škoda 14Tr and the articulated Škoda 15Tr are iconic figures of the Czechoslovakian industry. There are only 2 of the 14Tr left in service in Szeged, one of which is a dedicated driver training vehicle. I have met it, you can see it in this video. However, there are far more of the articulated 15Tr, 24 of them in operation in the city. This makes Szeged the largest Škoda 15Tr operator in the world. Of course, these trolleys are not all the same, but can be broken down into several sub-types. Unfortunately, all of them have been modernised in different degrees in Szeged. Many of them have been given glued windows and with them black doors, which in my opinion look very bad on these old vehicles. But all the interior of the Škodas have also been modernised.
Overall, though, it is still good to see so many retro vehicles still on the roads. It was a very good day, even though I didn't catch the last train to Miskolc at 22:00 in Budapest due to delays and train replacements caused by a hit-and-run on the Szeged line, so I had to take an improvised night walk around Budapest until the 3:50 train :D
