Hello, when do guavas set their second set of fruit, Also do you have issues with brown spots on your peach tree leaves. My Florida prince seems to have alot of these brown spots on the leaves

Guavas will start to flower in mid to late Fall and the fruit will ripen March to April. I have not seen brown spots on leaves on peach. Brown leaves in general usually are caused by inconsistent watering or scorch. Watch out for red splotches as that indicates fungal issues/leaf curl. It's recommended to spray peach trees with a copper fungicide in winter before bud break in spring to keep the tree free of disease issues.

I can't say enough how much you channel help me growing here in arizona. Is there any updates on the mangos you planted? I also went to the ebay and bought A Nam doc and carrie mango

That's awesome to hear. The potted seedling mangos are really doing well and the in ground are coming along too but slower to put on growth. I'll do an update soon! Congrats on the new additions! NDM is amazing!

I believe the tree pushed its first bloom at just 3 or 4 years old but is setting more flowers each year.

Hello. I have one of these in my yard this is its 3rd spring here in AZ. Its doing well so far although it didn't start to green up again this year until mid April. And it started growing from below the very tips which appear to be dead. I am wondering how to prune it. Should I cut of the 13-24" at the very tips of branches where there is no new growth? Also, I was under the impression that I would never see this tree flower as I used to in my yard in FL because there are not other trees for cross pollination. What are you views on this. Thank you.

Hi. RP takes approximately five years to bloom, although there are reports of some trees taking 12+ years. No need to plant more than one for flowering to occur. Check out my recent video on my RP post-winter for a look at my pruned tree. I prune for an umbrella shape but that shape is a personal preference. It's a good idea to prune off any dead wood. Prune just above a healthy bud.

Can you find any of these trees in public places like parks or residential areas?

Not here in Arizona where I live but for sure in more tropical climates like Florida.

I planted a poinciana in my garden in Bucharest, Romania (Europe). I really want to be able to grow it, although the winters here can be quite cold, with temperatures dropping below 32 degrees Fahrenheit for many weeks. I am trying to acclimate it, protecting it this winter from the low temperatures. What is the minimum temperature it can withstand?

It is said to be frost intolerant but survived lows in the mid-20s for a few hours for one week in my yard but suffered major limb dieback. If you have weeks below 32, chances are it will not survive. You can possibly container grow instead and bring it indoors during winter. It's a very tropical plant and is marginal even in my area where we tend to stay above 20s.

Cicadas are insects that emit a loud buzzing noise during our hot summers and can be heard in this video.
