The is one funny thing about analogy arguments, but it doesn't necessarily apply to all of them: Propoents can't even give good reasons, why the objects in the analogy are desiged: "It's obvious!" (how is that an argument?), "It can't be chance!" (actually it can!), "it is very likely not chance!" (probabilistic argument compare at least 2 hypotheses; you only discuss one right now), "It's complex!" (see: it's very likely not chance), "It's functional!" (functions can arise without being intended) and so on.
P3) is interesting. Human reasoning works similar to evolution: Systems get replicated, when they work. So actually one could argue, that we found the cause similar to a human creator, but the cause has no intelligence.
As much as I want to absorb all these videos, I feel like it's audience is strictly for the philosophy major. I understand you want to cut it down to a 2-3min videos but it narrows your audience and although I've watched multiple videos I'm pretty lost. I took several philosophy classes in college some years ago, so I like to think I'm not part of the "general public" that has no understanding of philosophy whatsoever, I still am unable to follow your fast-paced explanations.
+RoseErifnosi I think that I am going to make some playlists where these videos are separated by level. There are videos here for novices, but there are also videos for people with a deeper understanding of philosophy. Check out ua-cam.com/play/PLz0n_SjOttTd43_Esj3C2cnZz4_9t7Db7.html and ua-cam.com/play/PLz0n_SjOttTcjHsuebLrl0fjab5fdToui.html for some more basic videos.
+Carneades.org Also my month of paradox ua-cam.com/play/PLz0n_SjOttTeCQVytLxvD1TGgcf4Ti-jn.html and my month of thought experiments ua-cam.com/play/PLz0n_SjOttTdRm0LPlJxUYoD7Xafp09sj.html are generally pretty accessible.
+Carneades.org I Like the fact that they are "to the point" and fast paced. it is easier for me to get it when I get all relevant information at once. Then I can digest it as a whole instead of feeling that I'm missing something.
Is argument by analogy an inductive argument?
