Wonderfully done, answered a lot of questions I was thinking about!
Thanks Chris! Been struggling to get my head around different options to improve my home setup, this has been really useful!
Glad it was helpful Ben.
Very useful. Thank you.
Thank you so much!
Great videos! Keep it up. Quick question; can the BT router be replaced by another one? If yes what is the process?
There are quite a few powerline adapters that don't take up a wall socket, because they can pass through wall power. I found them to be especially useful as the primary adapters because I need to power many devices at the "injest point".
I have a friend who wants to play head to head racing (NASCAR Heat). I know I can do this if I just have a cable going from Computer A to B, but if he wants to have more than 2 what would be the best solution. Presently we have the Game Room setup as such, an Asus RT-AX88U connected to the Main ISP box (Fiber Op). Security Cams are hooked up to it as well as a TPlink Switch. On the Switch there is Comp A, B, C. Each can access the Router wireless if need be to get on the Net. What would you go about it/recommend ??
Great overview, thanks!
I did not know about security problems with a direct wired connection to the Internet Provider Modem. I was interested to hear that.
It is because you are not using NAT with a firewall between the internet and your computer.
Good video but I do from time to time hook my cellular phone to Ethernet. Just need an adapter.
I'm rooting for that row-ter.
Never even heard of HPNA and I've been doing network stuff since 10-Base-T ethernet...
My rooter rules!
"rooter" Sounds like something our pigs do in the US.
