As a union guy, it's not a good look for the NFLPA to have former members ragging on your organization with legitimate beefs.
Same as a UAW guy some of this sounds familiar and that's really bad for a Union reputation

The difference between the NFL and NBA is Pat gets 27 months hawk like testing for public intoxication. Ja Morant gets 2 days in a resort, I mean rehab center, for drinking and using guns (a possibly lethal combination). What a joke
Well public intoxication is a crime technically... just drinking as an adult is not illegal, and here in the USA we (thankfully) have a constitution that recognizes that the right to bear Arms, meaning protect ourselves from Tyranny and any other threats, is a God given right in a free country and the purpose of the 2nd ammendment is to prevent a tyrannical government from overreaching and trying to take away that right. (Unfortunately we see modern day politicians trying to be tyrannical and find social issues and scapegoat them on our 2nd ammendment right) so while I agree Morant acted in a low class manner for what is supposed to be one of the faces of the NBA, and the way he tries to idolize a criminal, ignorant, accountability dodging, "thug" lifestyle is absolutely ridiculous... but at the same time him drinking and possessing a firearm is not illegal and is within his God given rights. While being charged with public intoxication is a class B or class C misdemeanor (depending on the laws of the city/county one lives in) is a criminal offense so it makes sense that it would come with more strict probation period style repercussions

Those tests for alcohol, these tests can judge to the exact day U drank it. Up to 80hrs from U'er last drink. I know been through the courts.
FYI. They don’t test for alcohol. They test for an antibody that’s only present if your body has broken down alcohol. It takes likes 3 days before you’re clean.
You don’t actually lose money playing that game in Toronto, whoever did payroll should have set it up knowing that one game would be your only income in Canada that year. You would get the money back upon filing your taxes.

The reason why they make them do this for 27 months is because the league wants to make it such a pain that they never want to get out of control again while under contract. Pat glosses over the fact that he was a laughingstock in Indy for the next year because he decided to take a swim in the canal, and it was conduct detrimental to the team. If he thinks it's a good idea for Ja Morant to get punished for his conduct, he should look at his own conduct the same way. I'm glad Pat's a better guy now.
And most unions are irrelevant these days. Labor unions were from a time where communication was terrible because there were no phones and it was difficult to stay organized. Now, they charge all kinds of money to their members and overinflate their own importance, meanwhile have put their members out of work because they turn down contracts and then factories get shut down. Ask UAW members how many times they've lost against Ford and GM.
