    Kawhi doesn't want to be damaged goods and end up like Isaiah Thomas who has cost himself 9 figures by playing hurt before signing the max.

    It is dangerous to think you are smarter than someone who is actually smarter than you. Kawhi's demeanor does seem somewhat independent and that is frustrating Popovich. Kawhi has already come out fighting without throwing a punch. Silence is another form of battle which Kawhi can win if he maintains his composure.
    Kawhi should do whats in his best interest not Popovich's or the Spurs. This is business and it seems Kawhi has realized this. Once you know who you are you become powerful. If I had to bet Kawhi is saying "show me the money" and he is right because he can't get paid if he's injured goods. Life is a battle for the mind. Remember 2 Timothy 1:7 says God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
    Peace

    This was one of the sickest situations in the NBA this season. All Kawhi wants to do is take care of himself and his health, his way and on his time so that he can have a better individual career. If you are a coach and you are trying to stop this or hinder this then you are trying to destroy this player, his abilities, and his physical health. When a coach and fellow players get upset at a player or any individual taking care of their physical health then they are your pure enemies... so the division is with the coaching staff and the leaders of the team (Parker, Ginobili, and whomever) destroying one another. Knowing this is the case, Kawhi should actually sit out the rest of the season because nobody with common sense would even think any man would want to go against his own health - mental or physical. When anyone goes against you and your health, then they are telling you they are your enemies. So to end it all, Popovich and those other teammates are Kawhi's enemies. Nobody should really want to play for the Spurs seeing how a quiet, productive, and a Finals MVP who was noted as a top 5 player has been treated like an enemy for taking care of his own health his own way. Bottom line. The Spurs did this to themselves and they need a bunch of guys who will just lay down and do what Popovich wants.

    • @christophervassell9138
      @christophervassell9138 6 років тому +1

      Popovich said: "If we're going to err, we're going to err on the side of caution."
      Popovich said: "I'd be surprised if he comes back this season."
      You said: "When anyone goes against you and your health, then they are telling you they are your enemies. So to end it all, Popovich and those other teammates are Kawhi's enemies. "
      See how you just created your own reality? Why do I respond to this stuff? I'm 30 years old.

    • @plainsimple244
      @plainsimple244 6 років тому +4

      What did Popovich do concerning Parker and the rest of the guys cornering Leonard into doing what he wants? Of course Popovich is going to err on the side of caution, he has to say that... the caution is he's going to allow Leonard's teammates to corner him and say what he wants to say to Leonoard - that's the caution, get someone else to do what you want to do; it's the same result... all Pop' is doing is using someone else to dictate the health of Leonard by putting pressure on him to come back earlier than normal or making that environment unbearable for Leonard to be in while he's out... this is why Leonard is in NY rehabing and taking care of himself without anything associated with the Spurs around him. He doesn't need that toxic environment around him and he doesn't need Popovich or the rest of those guys who are against his own well-being.
      Look, all Pop' had to do as a coach is just let Kawhi work it out how he wants to because it's his body and when he's physically and mentally ready to get on the court, then coach him... otherwise Popovich has to get out of the way and keep coaching but this back and forth is unnecessary.

      As a Spurs appreciater over the years (Sixers lifer) i can say it is pretty messed up that they were ignored when they were winning titles and being the consistent machine. Now that they are having issues. 24/7 CNN style coverage. Shows that media does not care about the hard work put into greatness, just the juiciest story for the drama queens.

    • @kharis87
      @kharis87 6 років тому +1

      pop only cares about control and winning. Spurs is my team. I saw how good they were and could be from the mid 90's. They even bypassed what I thought they would be. But Kahwi is not going to be manipulated to take less money like others did and no one could wrong him for that. That's what all this is about. Spurs don't get the attention for being so consistent but now shit hits fan Spurs getting more media footage than ever. Shit is funny lol.

      and I'm glad for one that Jackson said that because it let's me know that as I thought they were going to try to play with that man's money. but one commentator stated, he didn't like family being involved as far as managers. and I'm glad he got family on his side so he doesn't go broke messing with a manager. because the manager is working with the league and will steal most of his money .yeah I can believe that they are trying to get him to take less, but I'm glad he is giving them the middle finger and moving on.

    Isn't it ironic that both the Spurs and the Patriots, two sports franchises who personified the no-individualism, team-first winning culture of the last 18 years, are having all kinds of drama clouding over their teams AND it's getting leaked out like this?!? We're starting to see dents in the patriarchal armor of Belichick and Popovich.

    Anyyone remember when Kawhi won his Finals MVP? Kawhi was kinda in shock, and in his speech he kinda went into me mode a little bit, but i gave him a pass for that, Greeg Popavich came out after that, and "jokingly" said Kawhi, "thinks its all about him", I thought it was suspect at the time, but its pretty obvious now that Kawhi never really fit in.

    Kawhi should demand nothing less than the max and if the spurs have to force tony and Ginobli to retire in order to create cap space to make it possible then so be it they should of never got involved in the first place this wasn’t their battle. I don’t think Kawhi and Tony & Manu ever really got along before and Kawhi just tolerated them out of respect for his elders but this situation was overdue.

    Truth of the matter, Greg Poppovich is an Air Force officer. The Air Force is notorious for teaching their officers/ senior ncos psychological manipulation tactics (advanced military science). You have to, when you train an 18 year old advanced technological skills, with a top secret clearance thats capable to attend advanced olleges, or make 10 times their E3, E4, graded salary in the private sector. Its imperative to manipulate these people for the benefit of the Air force and country.

    This reminds me so much of the Derrick Rose situation. As soon as you have people playing games it’s time to move on. If the Spurs don’t want to pay for someone to sit on the bench then trade him. I’m sure some other team will pay him with the hopes he heals and can be back to his former self. The player has a right to be his own best interest, but the team also has a right to ask someone’s availability if they are paying them. Especially when we are talking millions of dollars.

    Is that the NBA has used these strategies to create narratives since the beginning. Nowadays the players have recognized that there's money in those hills, but in order to get the bag you have to play the game.

    I want to be on Kawhi's side here, but from the team's point of view its like ok then, so we can never be like, uh when are you coming back? I mean, he was supposed to be back early in the season, its getting time for the playoffs, and he only has one more year on his contract. What if he's not ready to play next season?
    As soon as I heard about these problems back around December I pretty much knew it was over between Kawhi and the Spurs, this is like the most toxic situation in any team atmosphere, because you really don't even need Pop to influence them, eventually the team will start to question the guy, NO MATTER WHAT, thi has happened to me and it has happened to guys I was on teams with, the situation always sucks, and almost always ends in disaster.
    I personally believe that yes this is about the money and Kawhi is worried about his future money, but at the same time he is also getting paid current money, if the Spurs end up trading Kawhi Leonard, and I believe they will, it will have huge ramifications in the league going forward.

      Tony Roca it's none of their business when he's coming back the man says he's hurt...each person on the team has their own contract with the team... so they are really out of line to even be asking about his personal business like that

    • @tonyroca279
      @tonyroca279 6 років тому +1

      Nah, not when its been this long. This situation ends the same way every time, especially when we are talking about a whole season, questions will be asked.
      I mean really, I'm on Kawhi's side on a basic level, but from the other side, its not personal business, it IS a team, and it effects the team, that is one of the points I disagree with Judah on a certain level as well. I can understand not treating a team like its your family, but you do have to respect being part of a team, it is a team sport.
      I knew this shit was going to end in disaster from the very first report I read.

      It is their business to know when he's coming back. He works for the Spurs not the other way around. It's like when you work for any employer they have the right to know when you are sick when you will becoming back to work.
      If Kawhi does not want to be with the Spurs. He should just ask for a trade and end this drama. I won't even hate on him for that. Everybody has the right to leave a situation that they don't want to be a part of.

It's like any other job you work at you have the right to know when a team member is going to be back for work since everybody relies on each other to get tasks done. In the Spurs case they rely on Kawhi to help them carry the load.

    Slap that Frenchie with his croissant, Kawhi. Go on, man. What Tony Parker did was just egregious! Even a school-yard, 7-year old knows that. And how old is Tony Park? A thousand years old? He's a grown man, and should have known better than to approach Kawhi, in his contract year, and in that way.

    Personally I think Kawhi is having issues with responsibilities of what he's apart of. You say Pop is a major MK Ultra handler in other videos, and I agree. I think Pop is saying to the elite, I don't know about the commitment of this kid to the cause. And they shut him down, until he gets his mind right. Then he gets his sneaker deal, and his supermax after he fulfills his duties. It's always either something you're doing too much of, or not enough of, then they have to handle that. My beneath the surface take. I enjoy your intellect bro....

    I don't trust POP he comes of as an old slave master that don't want his field N's to obey his every command, same like dudes can't even speak to the press without without POP giving consent, same like everything has to through him. All of those players that played for him in the pass, i believed they all missed out on a lot of shoe deals, and other accolades but same like every time one retires they just go off into the Sunshine, then silence.

    Ok, I'm trying to be unbiased as possible (which I'll probably fail at), but I'm hoping for kawhi's sake that he doesn't pull a "derrick rose." yes, the injuries are different between the two, but the scenario is looking quite similar. Having family as your agents is a BAD IDEA! Derrick had his brother, Reggie, as his agent doing pretty much what kawhi's uncle has been doing with him. I hope all works out for both sides. In saying all of that, (being biased now), I'm all for trading him. have him sign a super-max deal and trade him to an eastern conference team for a top tier player and one first and second round draft pick. It was the spurs that helped shaped his offensive skills with shooting coach, Chip England, which made him the two-way player he is today. Now, (unbiased), every player should be paid what their worth and without a doubt, Kawhi is worth a super-max deal. For my team, san Antonio spurs, to not pay him is plain disrespectful to what he has done for that team in his time, there. Furthermore, Just because Timmy took less money, doesn't mean kawhi should do that either. kawhi is not, as u said, a company guy. Which means, there will always be a place for timmy, tony and manu (the greatest trio in NBA history) at the spurs organization. Those guys will get paid a seven figure salary every year they work for the team. Kawhi may not get that luxury, and so I don't blame him for wanting what he deserves. I also believe, that no NBA player should have the ability to tell an Owner, President of BB operations, GM nor Coach, how things will be run in said organization. In conclusion, I have no problem if he wants to recover (mentally and physically) from his injury and start fresh, next season; However, he needs to be real with the organization/fans and acknowledge whether or not he will play before the playoffs start. That way, it's less of a distraction as the team tries to keep its playoff hopes alive.

    I don’t doubt the Spurs took Leonard quiet demeanor for weakness. I also don’t doubt they were talking behind his back in closed door meeting questioning what bargain deal they could reach to avoid paying him the Max. I agree Pop completely mishandled this young Champion, cause he is elite.

    This was an interesting take. Was going to be a lot more polite until he he said, rudely, to Rachel Nichols to shut up, and let the men talk. Now, whoever he may be, and is no one next the Rachel, he can shut the fuck up, and let a woman speak, and see where there may be holes in his argument.First, NONE OF US KNOWS, EXACTLY, what is going on, except Kawhi, and whoever he let know, and of who he didn't, that is closeslyy affected by whatever is going on with him, like Pop and the Spurs Players and Org, what is behind their response. For all WE know, Kawhi and Pop and all the Sdpurs; present AND FORMER Teammates, and the org, cld be on the same page, and being helped by Media, too. Or maybe not. It's all speculation on the part of EVERY outsider, including yours, truly, and he who made this video, too. So, to tell Rachel to shut up is too much.The "A Few Good Men, "#CodeRed" theory is an interesting, plausible one. But then the speaker doesn't bother to see another angle of it, that is from the Jack Nicholson character's point of view, who Pop wld be compared to. If a Code Red type thing was calked because Kawhi is seen as too quiet and soft and and allow too many to walk over him, maybe, in his own way, Pop is trying to help Kawhi, in life, and not just for the Spurs, to toughen him to stand up for himself, or see if he wld, and Kawhi's response is EXACTLY what Pop wanted to get out of him. Cld be.Next, I disagree with the comments that under no circumstances can a Team, THATS PAYING YOU, and has examined you, casnt question you for not playing, when they say you can. AND there is a time when teammates can do that. What?! They dont want to win?! If it's accepted what Kawhi does, whether because of injury or income, he shld be allowed because it's about his future and life, then the other players, maybe more than Pop and the rest of the org shld be allowed to question him for the same reasons. There window of time to win championships and show themselves well so they can be positioned for MORE is limited just like Kawhi's. Think about a household where all the chores are equally shared, but one is sick and unable to help. If there is ANY reasonable inkling that that one can help out, but wont, which of us wldnt say something and call them on it?Next, whoever this guy is seems to be playing right in Pop's hand Pop is being shady, as the speaker thinks, because listen to how many times he suggests Kawhi will turn violent. What?! Where is that coming from?! He says Pop is trying to assassinate Leonard's character, but he seems to be doing a pretty god job himself.This guy, intentionally, and purposely, wants to put it out there that some one quiet must explode, and have no self control. No. Anything comes my way, eternally, and GREATER js He that is within ME, than in the World!!! This guy, aint slick!! He wants you to think he is on Kawhis side. He's not. Thats subtle, MANIPULATIVE shade to make all look at Kawhi as if he's a quiet time bomb, and all quiet, bullied ppl must be. In other words, everyone has to be a devil and retaliate, immediately, or it must happen later, as if Jesus isnt Lord, and a believers Peace, AT TIMES!!!Finally, this dude speaks about how manipulative Pop is and how he uses his players, like Parker and Genobli. And praises Stephen Jackson, a former Spur for speaking up. He says that going by what everybody has been saying and is true, that WE have never heard this kind of strife and culture come out of the Spurs org before. That is fact. EVERYONE agrees with that. But since that is true, then there is a clear flaw in the following reasoning that only Parker and Genobli are just following orders, and rather not Stephen Jackson, too!! What! Because he "seems" different and gives "seeming" opposition that you want to believe? Remember, of present AND FORMER STAFF AND CREW, we have NEVER seen this kind of thing come out from behind closed doors of the Spurs org. NEVER!! Not under Pop. So dont be so quick to assume, Mr., suddenly very relevant, Stephen Jackson, isn't just playing his role, too.Again, ALL conjecture on Our part. But such must be reasonable. Pop is military and the Spurs have had much success run that way. So p, the #codered theory, isnt far fetched, but the rest of the opinions must follow good reasoning. This guy does, wholly. He doesn't see every possibility. And of K exploding, there has been no indication of that possibility.Lastly, Rachel was right to say she doesn't know, BUT her opinions were solid, and her supporting evidence about max contracts offered or not, or who took less money WAS RIGHT ON!!! Why tell her to shut up!! At first, before she made her case, both men were like, "it has NEVER happened, any where, else" that less money was offered..." But then, as Rachel through out several examples, they both back pedalled and said time after time, that case is different. But I thought it NEVER happened, any where else period?!Anyway. I love basketball and sports and all things concerning minds and hearts and souls. Praying for ALL!Peace,YK

    The problem with the "money" angle is that Kawhi is a max player regardless of where he plays. He is a prime player who is just 26 years old. I agree that his Spurs teammates never should have stuck those nose in this contract situation (more or less). Owners are fools if they allow a coach/player to start a cult or personality on their teams. It will eventually break down and you don't know where or when it will happen. Kawhi does not stay regardless.
