@@Jivi_ioi I don't want to contradict Mufti Menk's advice because he is more knowledgeable than I am, and it's true that Islam is in the heart and between you and your God. I said my shahada in front of the imam at the mosque because afterwards they gave me a certificate of conversion. I was told I may need to show this if (inch'allah) I go for the Hajj.

@@Jivi_ioi In order for a person to be a Muslim, it is not required that he declares his conversion to Islam in front of anyone, because Islam is a matter between a person and Allah. if it's only to obtain a document like certificate of conversion, there is nothing wrong with that, but without making that a condition for the validity of his conversion to Islam.
I am a very recent 60 year old revert and following Islam is indeed a big learning curve for me, but thank Allah I found this channel through a Muslim sister. I love tis channel and look forward to learning a lot. This video in particular helped me through see through a cloud of doubt that was pressing in on me. Allhamdullilah!

Even in the Christian holy books, Jesus, peace be upon him, said that after me a prophet named Ahmed will come. The Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him, was not crucified, but rather God raised him to heaven and he will return to us again.
I had the same questions growing up in a catholic family, now I am ready to convert, praise be to Allah for bringing me on this journey to understanding and away from idolatry. I finally am hearing the answers I was meant to hear.

I am an agnostic but im getting "called" to Islam with the people that I have encountered in my path and trying to learn with an open mind.
The problem is once you say the words you can't go back it's in the hadiiths Muhammad commanding the death to the one who apostatasies. So there's no compulsion in religion it's hollow words they don't mean much. You will be made to take the dogma whole without knowing whole then the apologetics will come in God's will is unknowable you aren't an Arab read it in the original Arabic. I'd think long and hard about wanting to join a faith that condones hitting your wife for nushuz that's leaving home without asking your husband permission or refusing lawful sex ie if you're not on your period or physically unable to bear it you can't say no I mean you can but Muhammad said in bukhari sahih that even if you are on a camel saddle she still can't refuse lawful sexual request from her husband. Other hadiiths it says if you do the angels will curse her till morning so marital rape is a non issue if the women is suffocated with dogma to comply if she doesn't she can be divorced the social clout of a divorced non Virgin (non Virgin is an evil word in Islam) are entirely to limited as even the prophet says to to play with a Virgin over a non Virgin. It's even a requirement down on the list but still there to marry a women for her virginity that's crazy. The leaving home is according to ibn kathir Zamakshari Al shawkani and all the rest of the classical tafsirs ie most trusted classical commentators on the quaran that's what nushuz was now they'll pretend it's akin to adultery but that's exactly wrong the quaran has clear guidelines for adultery that's stoning to death. They defend that with you need four witnesses first off the spouses testimony is all that's needed and secondly it works against them when raped women unmarried bring it to the attention of the authorities if they can't provide four witnesses then we'll that's adultery. Also the science in the quaran is fantasy look up pz myers the quaran and adnan rashid watch what happens backwards embryology
I feel at home in the teachings of Islam. They comfort me and bring me joy and discipline. I am very early in my journey but Allah is the one true God and its evident in the teachings of the Quran and the beauty of its followers.

Mufti menk you are from the same place as I, I am currently in bali (bali Island is hindu) however Indonesia is the biggest Muslim country. I have been listening to you for about a year and have been contemplating joining the Muslim/ Islamic faith after being a atheist for years but this past 13 months islam has been the only thing on my mind so i will be asking my Muslim friend to guide me along the path to become a Muslim.

I cannot express how frustrated I am with myself. I consistently come to the conclusion that Islam is not for me, yet I think of it every day. I am terrified of reciting Shahada- I am terrified of speaking to Allah. I don’t want to waste his time. I’m not sure I want forgiveness; I’ve done terrible things. I don’t know what to do.

My brother, God is the one who created you so that you could return to Him, so how can you waste His time when He is waiting for you at every moment?
The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said in the holy hadith about God Almighty:
Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “Allah, the Exalted, has said: ‘O son of Adam, I forgive you as long as you pray to Me and hope for My forgiveness, whatever sins you have committed. O son of ‘Adam , I do not care if your sins reach the height of the heaven, then you ask for my forgiveness, I would forgive you. O son of 'Adam, if you come to Me with an earth load of sins, and meet Me associating nothing to Me, I would match it with an earthload of forgiveness.”'
Once the Shahada is pronounced, all the sins you have committed will be erased and a new page will begin as if you were born at the moment.
This religion is for everyone it is for the pious for the criminals ,for the sinners for everyone you were born with this religion this is your destiny you cannot escape it . Revert to islam to your original faith you were born with which is islam and then take baby steps on working to mend your relationship with Allah by slowly changing your lifestyle which does not align with the teachings of islam ,even born and raised muslims commit sins and break rules every single day but the best of sinners are those who immediately repent and try their best not to repeat the same circle of mistakes but the most important thing is for you to become a muslim this is important for your eternity and then work on the 5 daily prayers that's it ,take baby steps.
Also you said you did terrible things hence you feel this religion is not for you ,my beloved brother or sister. There were two men in islam who were the greatest warriors and legends of islam, these two men were Umar Al Khattab who was the 2nd caliph of muslims and Khaled bin Waleed who was a commander and general who has never lost a single battle in his life and he was nicknamed by prophet Muhammad as the "Sword of God" . Do you know what Khaled bin Waleed did before he became a muslim? Khaled killed so many muslims thousands and hundred of muslims were killed by Khaled's sword he was the biggest enemy of islam and muslims but guess what??? he later reverted to islam and became our greatest hero and legend and the greatest companion of prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). And do you know what Umar Al Khattab was before he reverted to islam and became the second caliph of islam??? He Umar was a very bad alcoholic he suffered so much with addiction of alcohol but that did not stop him from changing his lifestyle and becoming a better muslims even better than all men who existed in the time of prophet Muhammad. Allah has promised all non Muslims who revert to islam that all their sins are forgiven when you come to islam its as if you are a newborn with no sins. Whatever crimes you've committed whether it be murder, homosexuality, adultery ,stealing ,blasphemy just anything know that once you revert into islam all those sins that you thinks are so great and unforgivable just know that Allah has forgiven you. Revert now to Islam and slowly work step by step towards being a better servant of Allah ,all of us are struggling with things with sins but the best sinner is the one who rush to repent to his lord.

I have since recited the shahada, several times, but each time I fear I am making a promise to Allah that I can’t keep. I may die a Muslim, but I think children born and raised in Islam will make for better Muslims than I will in old age.

I have become disalutioned with christianity i havent practised any form of religion for about 30 years as chrisianity does no longer make any sense to me but islam is such a beautiful sounding religion i would like to convert but my family are agaist this but the more i watch and hear the more i feel in my heart that islam is for me i live in a small north west town in the uk and do not no how to make the change is there a way for me to to make the change to islam

Alhamdulillah, I made my shahada today after weeks of doubts and delay. At the end it became insufferable to me. The idea that Allah SWT can take my life every night and every day and i will face judgement and could not say that I chose the right path made me sick in the heart. Today I finally stopped this internal torture and took the step. May Allah guide us all and bring us closer to Islam every day.

I really need someone's help. I know by converting to Islam I will be shunned by my family and made fun of by my people. I won't be able to do the five prayers every day because my work schedule just doesn't allow for it. I love this religion and I want to do everything that needs to be done to please Allah.

"JazakAllah" does not make sense as a Muslim rather we should say JazakAllahu Khairan "May Allah bless you (with) goodness" while the former means may Allah reward you. You do end of changing the meaning by just saying "JazakAllah ". It's also in a Hadith that it's better to say the full version. The messager of Allah says "He who is favoured by another and says 'Jazak-Allah Khairan' (May Allah reward you well' indeed praised (the benefactor) satisfactory. Riyadis As-Salihin - (Tirmithi) Book 17 Hadith 1496

New to the Islamic religion was born and raised Christian but recently discovered the beauty of Islam and have been reading the Quran on the Muslim pro app on my phone since. Eventually I would like to get a physical copy for myself but the app will do for now. I would like to revert but for some reason I am nervous about being accepted as a Muslim and because I am new to this I am nervous that I don’t know enough about it to join the religion I understand the basic fundamentals of Islam but there are lots of differences between the Bible and the Quran that I do not know yet and feel as though I am obligated to know before joining if anyone can relate I would love to discuss this further Alhamdulillah
