- did anyone get that messed up line from Garrus on Purgatory (the ship)? Eva did NOT handle it well. (for context, Garrus can say the prison is "in the galaxy's best interest.") like bro wth. he says it AFTER the warden tries to kidnap Shepard!

Hi! I like this video. I like how it puts Garrus and your Shepard in a serious and reasonable conversation.
It reminds me of my days of reading Mass Effect fanfictions.. and now makes me wish I could put them through AI to hear them read out in the voices. Very nice!

I have the opposite problem with Garrus. I've spent the whole game of ME1 teaching him that doing things by the book, never looking for an easy way out, and taking the high road was the right thing to do only for him to end up being a crazed vigilante hellbent on vengeance in ME2. His Vigilante and "justice" lines are what drove me mad. So disappointed with him... and now we have people like Bayley becoming a C-SEC Captain, a corrupt official who abuse their suspects, have backroom deals with known criminals, and are willing to game the system. And Garrus praises him... saying "C-SEC has changed" as if that's for the better. You can call executor Pallin whatever you want, but at least that Turian had principles.
Shit, the only reason Udina even promoted Bayley to being an Executor is probably he knew how easy it would be manipulate him and use him to push Human Agenda in C-SEC.
i don't view these as opposite problems! those are all the same complaints Eva has. the only reason she supposedly "tolerates" the vigilantism is because he at least can't abuse his status and get away with it like he was trying to do before. at least as a vigilante he's punishable by law, ykwim? but yeah Garrus is a corrupt cop at heart, which is where her fear comes from. (not that she views """ethical""" cops as much better. Eva says "ACAB")
it's CRAZY that the games force you to be buddies with Bailey too.
@@aimlessanimates8714 Honestly, I don't have problems with Cops just doing their job, but when the game is trying to act like what Bailey does is "good" and we're supposed to be friendly with him that irritates me. Hell, the game only gives you the option to call out his bs only twice, once during the meeting and the second time during Thane's loyalty. And somehow he gets rewarded come the 3rd game by failing upwards.

the "it's in the galaxy's best interests" line from Garrus on Purgatory? it's just something he can say if you examine a certain body during the mission, not a dialogue tree response. (if you mean the dialogue in the video itself, this isn't from the game at all! i wrote it. 💛)

Nicely done! Is this your Shepard? What's her background (with her having been in prison and all)? And are her biotics supposed to be add-ons from the Lazarus Project, given what Garrus said about them?
ty!! Eva takes Shepard's role, yes, but she's def more of an OC than a true Shepard. (Hell, her real name isn't "Shepard".) On paper, she's an earth-born sole survivor, but that backstory is just a cover (though it's vaguely similar to the truth.)
basically, Eva's whole deal is that she's from a normal universe like ours, but she gets isekai'd (randomly transported) into various video game universes, usually replacing the main character. she has looots of trauma from lots of canons, and when she says she's been to prison, she is referring to Mount Massive Asylum from _Outlast_ and Persephone/Fontaine Futuristics from _Bioshock 2._ :3
as such, yeah, she wasn't born with biotics! Cerberus made her a vanguard when they brought her back.
Still getting used to the biotics? Is this a Shep who changed class at the start of 2? :3

I've always played biotics from the start, they're just more my vibe. Sentinel on my first playthrough but my LE Shep, Lilly, is an adept.

I think you misunderstand many things. I always thought Shepard was someone who didn't even flinch in the face of reapers, it's hard to imagine her getting offended by *words*
Eva's an OC (though she goes by Shepard's name, yes), not a true Shepard. I realize I didn't state this anywhere, so I don't blame you for having these questions! in Eva's case, she didn't agree to be military, nor did she actually receive any of the training (unbeknownst to her crew).
the reason Garrus has that _"...Really?"_ line is because he's as baffled by the situation as you are! Shepard's the highest form of law enforcement but hates cops? he's confused! 😂
