Sonic Superstars...but without ever rolling into a ball for extra speed and killing enemies, spindash, or dropdash. Yup..they really should have included an optional tutorial zone that explains the controls and movesets of each character to newcomers, along with stressing the importance of rolling into a ball as a core game mechanic. I have not seen a single person press the down button to react to the enemies in this game, despite the game being very well designed around that. For young Mario kids, most of the nuance of Sonic's level design will fly right over their heads.
As a long time classic Sonic fan, I’m disappointed. You can definitely tell there’s a lot of components missing. No Act 2 in some levels, soundtrack isn’t cohesive whatsoever (you can clearly set apart Tee Lopes from Jun Senoue), backgrounds are lacking scenery, etc. I can’t believe they want $60 for this.
$60 is literally the average price of any video game. It doesn’t matter what’s missing and what isn’t. Also the stages with only act 1’s have dedicated acts for each character. They each get one
The graphics look great to me. I don't think it should be always 16 bit pixel style, like Mania. The problem is the music by Jun Senoue. It just doesn't fit with the rest.
You can tell the clear difference between tee lopes music and then Jun senoue, I find myself starting to bop my head with some music,and some of the others ESPECIALLY the boss battles I get just alittle annoyed.
Gotta admit, sky temple, sand sanctuary and cyber station all only being one act is a major letdown. Sand sanctuary and cyber station were the two I looked forward to playing the most. Unfortunate. Other then that game looks pretty fun😎

It's really hard to accept the fact that none of this is supposed to be shown on any platforms (unless it's for review purposes and they could give some spoiler warnings), but when your someone who's a huge fan and doesn't really mind this (which is a legitimate full playthrough) being on here, there are people who are gonna watch this and some who are delicated to push through and avoid spoilers until it comes out. IDK anymore, when i see sonic, i watch!

I heard certain characters have a specific act for them in certain zones. I think Amy’s is Sand Sanctuary. So maybe that’s it and why there were 3 zones with one act.

Jun Senoue hasn’t been the best at making music for Classic Sonic games (as seen in Sonic Origins in order to replace the music in S3 due to them having been composed by Michael Jackson originally) but as a casual fan I recommend this to other casual Sonic fans as well as origins and mania. If you’re hardcore this is maybe not the greatest but at least give it a go
Damn, two hours into the game and you still don't know, or use the spindash. Its a miracle you get over any hill or ramp without the game holding your hand.
Man there's just no way to go back to this type of 2D Sonic after Sonic Mania. A huge step down, especially back to that dreadful Sonic 4 soundfont for the OST.

It is a very solid game and very reliable to it's root compared to Sonic 4 but it dosen't have the intense vibe and soul of the original trilogy. While the soundtrack of Sonic CD is still memorable to me and affects me with it's thrilling vibe. This game felt bland compared... And yes. It is not because I am 40 years old and medicated on antipsychotics. It is definatly does not have the strong intense vibe of it's formers. Not even the great inspiring Sonic Mania... Superstars is weak compared.
60$ is absurd for this, it's a great game but if you'll stop after one DAY of playing it? Sonic Jr. is on his own adventure which is a continuation from S1 in his timeline. This is a problem though being that Sonic Jr. met his " older " self... the chain of events afterward are way different when SonicJr returns back to his timeline. BIg sonic and Sonic Jr. will reunite for another time warp adventure. Im calling it. This is all build up
the water in sonic 4 episode 2 looks better aswell the air bubbles too and the lagoon city boss is cool but the air bubbles are just weird looks kinda like the lego demenions one
forces was twice this games length main story alone, a decent chunk of post game mission stuff. it took me like a week nonstop to do all of forces stuff to 100% moon rings red rings time trials and trophies...

game looks quite poorly made, i dont know why i expected mania levels of polish out of a 3d graphics game from sega. the drawn cutscenes and the first few levels look really nice though

Sonic Jr. is on his own adventure which is a continuation from S1 in his timeline. This is a problem though being that Sonic Jr. met his " older " self... the chain of events afterward are way different when SonicJr returns back to his timeline.
BIg sonic and Sonic Jr. will reunite for another time warp adventure. Im calling it. This is all build up

the water in sonic 4 episode 2 looks better aswell the air bubbles too and the lagoon city boss is cool but the air bubbles are just weird looks kinda like the lego demenions one

another short sonic game (forces)
forces was twice this games length main story alone, a decent chunk of post game mission stuff. it took me like a week nonstop to do all of forces stuff to 100% moon rings red rings time trials and trophies...

Are you hearing the same songs as me? This soundtrack has good songs sure but the bad ones are AWFUL compared to the bad songs in mania. Just compare the eggman boss themes, this one doesn't sound good at all
