Thanks for sharing. How did you compute the compressive damage parameters? Because I see that you are giving it as an input, then it should be calculated by you, right? Further, consider that you want to apply tensile loading, then you need to give the tensile damage parameters as inputs again. How you would find it for concrete?
Dear Dr CDP contains Tension damage and compressions damage , Please tell me how to dfeine and show the shear failure of concrete by CDP ? or it must be used the smeared cracking model?

@@hnrwagner Pretty much all of them. Look at van Mier's book on concrete fracture for example or this study:doi.org/10.1016/j.conbuildmat.2017.01.057. The inclined shear band failure mode, realized in the simulation, is mostly caused by the plate effect due to friction, while the usual failure model for all heterogeneous brittle materials in uniaxial compression is the axial splitting mode: conceptually, axial tensile cracks are first generated and then the sample fail due to catastophic loss of stabilty like a deck of cards. Abaqus damage-plasticity model is not able to replicate such failure mode but the inclined shear banding as realized in your simulation. Better results can be obtained if the concrete heterogeneity and the cement matrix-rocky aggregate mesostructure is included.
@@timosaksala4797 thanks for the detailed answer, I think the inclince failure mode is due to the longitudinal crack which i introduced in the second model at 10:39, the failure mode for the first model is different.

As far as I know, no, works only with explicit

Hi sir,
Is it possible to get stress & strain graph by input using values as compressive strength, density and elasticity??
should be possible but then you get only perfect plastic material behavior, which means constant stress after yielding.
thank you very much for your effort
please, why did you define the steps as dynamic explicit and why did not define as static general?
Concrete Damage Plasticity only works for dynamic explicit
