      My brother was cutting the grass of this local millionaire back on the early 70s. With the tractor he hit the above ground light and told the owner that his ground light hit the tractor. So the owner said, we’ll next time we must tell the light not to jump up and hit the tractor. The guy had a sense of humour. LOL

      On top of that, a Cylon raider crashed on earth (Halloween night as a matter of fact) resulting in the Cylon Empire nearly discovering the location of Earth! Fortunately the survivors of the raider were thwarted from contacting the Empire and the centurion had fallen into a dumpster.
      I speculate that the Cylon centurion was later discovered, reverse engineered and somewhat resurrected into the Knight 2000. (AKA KITT)

      This was the last episode of Galactica 1980 to air. It didn't receive much fanfare because ABC had already consigned this show to the trashheap. Dirk supposedly did this show to retrieve some personal items he had in a napsack that was somewhere in the Universal studio.

    From a literary standpoint this reminds me of the 2nd terminator movie. In TERMINATOR an army of evil robots are trying to wipe out what remains of humanity after a holocaust and ONE of them is heroic and saves humanity and befriends the leader of the human resistance (John Connor)
    And in BATTLESTAR GALACTICA the cylons are an army of evil robots trying to wipe out what is left of humanity after a holocaust and ONE of them befriends one of the main human characters (Starbuck).
    And of course both the "good" Terminator and the "good" Cylon die heroically saving the lives of the human they have befriended.

    • @stevejordan7275
      @stevejordan7275 3 роки тому +2

      Bad writing. Though it's also true he didn't have a repair manual, and food may have made getting off that planet more of an issue.
      What's almost as stupid was that - as I recall - the girl/angel with the baby took a seat aboard the ship built from salvage that she wasn't going to keep, but suddenly appeared on the mountain to pronounce Starbuck officially "Good."

    • @ralphangioli4852
      @ralphangioli4852 3 роки тому +1

      @@stevejordan7275 He repaired Cy when he first found him and when he’s working on him we see Starbuck flipping pages in some kind of book or manual. All I know is if I were Starbuck I wouldn’t stay stranded on a cold desolate planet with a perfectly good Cylon ship just sitting there. Like you said though, poor writing. If they wanted to keep Starbuck stranded then in the laser fight on the ground they could have had the ship take a laser hit that either badly damaged it or destroyed it.

      But they did, didn't they? In the new series (SPOILERS), Starbuck and the live Cylon ship crashed on a planet. Starbuck fixed up the Cylon (ship) and they flew back to the fleet "together". History somewhat repeated, but this time, the human and the Cylon both made it back to safety. Didn't they? Or did the live Cylon ship not survive the journey? I can't remember. Certainly, I don't remember in the new series the pair ever interacting again. Perhaps, their friendship couldn't last. They were just too different.

    I love this episode, it's my favorite!!
    I think that the reason Starbuck didn't rebuild another Cylon,is because it wouldn't have been the same as Cy, and he didn't have the Hart to do it!!
    I think that the reason why he didn't use the Cylon Fighter to get back to the fleet,was because he wouldn't have been able to catch up with them,on the fuel it had, and the fleet was probably way out of range for him to reach.
    Not only that,it takes 2 to fly the Cylon Fighter, and he can't do it by himself.
    Not only that, but it might have compromised the fleet, if he tried to meet up with them.
    He also wouldn't have been able to contact the fleet,so they might have shot at him, thinking that he was just another Cylon Fighter, trying to attack them.
    Just my opinion though.

      They probably got somebody else to do the post processing on the voice and they didn't have the right gear and techniques. If you look around on UA-cam (sorry, don't remember the channel name) there's a series of videos where a fan tries to reproduce the original Cylon voice all of the same exact equipment and techniques as they did on the show. Long story short, it was a lengthy and pretty involved process starting with recording the actor on tape, then feeing into various pieces of audio gear using various settings. The sound engineer that worked on the show said that it was tricky to do and that they had a hard time keeping it consistent from episode to episode.

    If only Cy and Starbucks coordinated their attack, they could've taken out all 3 centaurians, especially with the godlike woman who could've smoked the 3 centaurians in a flash. Or have the ship of lights orbs show up all around them to stop the fight. That would have freaked the centaurians out! So the woman came back to the planet with Starbuck and declared him good, so they picked them off and Starbuck joined the ship of lights.
