- Опубліковано 24 тра 2020
- Today we talk about McLaren F1 GTR Longtail's and take a closer look at chassis number 19R, which we currently have in stock.
This particular car was the factory prototype and development car and was the first F1 GTR Longtail to be road converted, with the work being carried out by Gordon Murray Design and Lanzante.
Only 10 x of these Longtail variants were ever produced and today they sit in some of the worlds greatest collections. Accordingly, it's not often you can get the chance to see one let alone the opportunity to purchase one of these special cars!
The car is UK registered with EU Taxes paid, it's also complete with a huge spares package.
We hope you enjoy the video! - Авто та транспорт
I once had an Allegro with a starting process as convoluted as this. Remove condensation from windscreen, pull out choke, turn ignition key, pull the bonnet, open boot and retrieve hammer, whack starter motor with hammer, secure bonnet, turn key, run till engine stalls, push choke in halfway, turn key once more wait for engine to stop drowning itself in petrol, then pull away with incredible velocity! Quite an event, much like the McLaren I suppose.
15 million is a steal for that car.. They can only go one way and that's up.
And not slow at all
Start of a global recession: Only way this massively overpriced art piece can go is up.
🤣
current value 50m+ buddy
Antonyy sze lol
Well not really, when or if the next 'real' virus hits. Items of value like these that are 'worthless' and only at such a high price because of the hyper inflated and rather weak market they are sitting on. Will be worth very little.
Dont think its a concidence that this car is for sale all of a sudden...
Well, that was brilliant. A bit more information on the actual competition history of the chassis would be interesting to hear. The 95 race has been done to bits but it was the first road car to win since the 60s, and the only road car, besides the gt1, to do so since.
“We’re not going to take it out on the road today...” LoL.
Your passion and knowledge are amazing, it's clear you really love what you do.
The story of how this car came to be in the UK and with its present owner are probably as fascinating as its racing history.
the bark of that BMW!!!!! :O
I could win the power ball and still not have enough money for this car.
Powerball prize money is way more than $15mn, pretty sure you could afford it.
This model 25 to 35 million dollars
@@allensaunders449 Even if its 30mn, i guess the top spot in the powerball lottery gets 800mn dollars.
@o k Even if you deduct 30-40% tax from your $500mn+ lottery win, *STILL AFFORDABLE*
Fantastic knowledge Tom. Thank you for sharing. Look forward to many more presentation's.
The best ending ever in a UA-cam video! Thank you for the knowledge also.
Fantastic presentation as always Tom - for me the Concorde of the motorcar!
Tom Hartley Jnr Thank you for showing this beautiful history of automobile,After seeing this beauty literally only one word came out of my heart...."Wow"
Now this is a commercial I can get on board with. What a car... I'll go drive mine today on Project Cars :)
What a machine! Such a great video, thank you!
Love all the info and stats! Cheers
Magic👌 Great Job Tom💪
Thanks for an excellent overview.
Finally a new episode hope your well Tom
What a car. Thanks for this video Tom.
i dont unerstand how this is not WAY more than a "normal" F1.. The history and the convertion with that book and all the orignal parts! Wild!!
I also dont know how to comprehend being in a spot to buy a car worth 15 million dollars. I havent been in a house worth that much money
I can't stop looking at it!
Brilliant as always 👍👍
I love these in dept vids on these very special cars. Tom is clearly a bone deep petrolhead and his passion is contagious. Some day I would like to buy a car from TH jnr.
Very professionally presented Tom.
99% about the car and brand and 1 % about yourself.
Beautifully presented with super knowledge. Then you started the engine........
Superb video, very well presented and made me remember watching BPR race at Silverstone in 1995.Happy memories of a better time. Please, please do more of these, maybe driving this car? I'm sure Brands is free at the moment........
Would love to see some more videos on F1’s Tom!
Thank you for the great video. Is it possible to film the accessory package? I would love to see that.
Great review. Interesting car.
Excellent Video
“Knowledge is power”.Exceptional video 👏👏👏Unfortunately not on my shopping list🇦🇺
Interior is insane 🏎
I was lucky enough in my life to attend 2 BPR races one in '96 and one in '97, plus I was even luckier to go to LeMans in '97.I will say the McLaren F1 GTR is one of the finest cars in the world and outside of F1 it is the best sounding car in the world.
Great video
Brilliant thank you
Love the videos Tom, presentation is very interesting. On an editorial note, maybe less use of fading transitions would sharpen the presentation. Maybe save the fades for “paragraphs” and just straight cuts for “sentences”, not literally of course. Hopefully see you with SCD when things open up again. 👍
You're a great automotive journalist and speaker
Would love to own one..... WOW! What a provenance!
The GTR Longtail looks unreal, Also the GTR
Every single car on THJ's inventory is a ''great buy for someone''. agree
Greatest Supercar of all time...............FACT!!!! Absolutely superb video, well done and thanks for producing. The sound on start up gave me a semi stiffy.............LOL
My favourite car, found this up for sale a few weeks ago...
Stunning car.
Actually, not every component on a F1 was unique. In fact, the wing mirrors are from a VW Corrado!
Yet another awesome video of an awesome car. Well done!
Front indicators are from an Elan, rear lights are from a Bova coach.
Some switchgear and locks came from BMW.
Had posted about that statement. Then scrolled and found this post. So back to mine to delete it. Sure I read the mirror switch came from the Corsa. I’ve never understood how can spend a fortune making such low volume body panels and the like but not afford to pay someone to make you a bespoke switch.
"Every single component on an F1 was unique and innovative." Actually the production wing mirrors were from an early VW Corrado and as many enthusiasts know... the rear lights are from a 1980s Bova Futura bus. Many Supercars have small components from more mundane machinery, it helps with getting the car into production quicker and saves development costs - nothing to be ashamed about, especially when it doesnt ruin the final product. I adore the F1, such a damn cool car! Especially the GTR and Long Tail versions.
Agree! It's not the parts, it's the way they're put together.
It made the run of the mill manufacturers up their game.
Hey Tom nice video . Please make a video about the F1 road car!
"Here at McLaren, everything must be perfect. If the tile grout deviates more than 1 micron across 1000 linear meters of tile, it must be replaced. We have positive pressure workspaces to keep dust down. Everyone must wear booties, even if they're on the toilet. We're the most anal retentive manufacturer on the planet, and we're proud to introduce you to our newest racing car: Squiggles."
That’s amazing car great value for the money 👍👍👍👍
Chris Cars great value 🤣
Been waiting for this. Two more questions I have for your next Q&A: do you think that Ferrari 250 GTOs will ever come down in price as their values appear to be really high right now? And, over the last couple of years I’ve noticed a few large car collections being auctioned off, can you explain why this is happening?
it usually falls down to personal circumstances divorce/death raising funds for whatever OR in some cases due to criminal convictions. Not forgetting the investor side of matters as some ppl come to the belief market values are peaking hence sell sell sell
My dream car, nothing comes close.
This car is quite a beast
bruh... that car is priceless and the dude only gets a few thousand views WTF
The short tails are more in demand because you can convert them to road legal status. The long tail versions are more difficult.
there is nothing better then this tbh, best car ever made simple, safe money to put it in no matter the miles...if only I had the money...
morrrrrrrrrrrrrre videos on this pleaseeeeeeeeee !!!
All important fact is it was that BMW M Power 6.1lt V12 .. that made it seriously something special , And no other Engine could even replicate the performance .. the BMW achieved
Daytona in white gold and ceramic. Nice.
If I had the money. Boy I wouldn't delay for a second, its such a special car and will only rise in value like other big name classics.
Absolutely gorgeous car. Form follows function. How Mother Nature would’ve designed a car
I didn't even know this car existed until now 😮
EPIC car
Parts and labour warranty?
I live quite close to you and I think I heard the roar.
One day, one day 😉
That’s a good deal, some Mclaren F1 LM are going for 25 million!
that's 15 mil US? how has this not sold yet?
How much would an F1 LM sell for?
I love that livery or hate it, I can't figure which.
-------------------------> Jay Leno needs to put this in his collection, would look lovely next to his black road car... Then he'd only need the LM to complete the trio !
i wonder how much insurance would be in london for it...?
jaime over 650k a year
We need a "love" button for this one....
I'm interested. Let's meet early tomorrow at Donington Park for a test drive. We'll do a few laps.. a few hundred laps.
Seriously though, I hope this stays in the UK. These should be classed as national treasures and have an export ban stamped on 'em, in the same manner culturally important antiquities do, and this is most certainly culturally important.
Not that i am wealthy enough to even dream of doing this, but could you purchase a McLaren F1 and have MSO do a complete rework and modernization of such a car?
I’ll take two.
"Every single component on an F1 was both unique and innovative." Not the tail lights. They're from a bus, and the wing mirrors are from a VW Corrado.
McLaren F1 🏁 ❤️❤️❤️
Team McLaren forever
Arguably the only other Mclaren worth more is Mr. Murray’s XP
whats this car worth if a regular f1 is worth 20mm? 40-60mm?
He said it's offered at 15mill. I was shocked TBH
Wouldn’t be the F1 GT be the rarest? Considering they only made about 3
Can’t be for sale surely. I don’t think numbers go up that high
nice info, shame there is no drive, specially after asking for 15m, big letdown, no need to explain why its worth that, somebody that can earn that kinda cash doesn't need an explanation. Superb car and Lanzante is always top tier quality workmanship. Please drive this on the road
This is an absolute bargain at $15 million, even finding a regular road F1 is near impossible. Owners are holding onto F1's which drives up their prices at a crazy rate.
My Dream is to own and drive (preferably on track) McLaren F1 GTR
Tom, could you hold it for me while I win the lottery, I'm feeling lucky this week.
No mate I'm going to get in there first
The GOD Car!❤
The exhaust note is worth $14 million alone!
The greatest supercar ever
i think Honda may have missed a trick when it comes to the McLaren F1🤣🤣🤣
If I could I would buy this (just need funds)
If I paid cash, would you offer to deliver it for free? LOL
Nice presentation!
Imagine if Williams diversified and making road cars. They might be survived today.
This content on this channel is so good?
!!*
If only I had the money for it....
You have to respect what the McLaren F1 did for supercars and cars in general. Game-changer is an overused word but not in this case....the noise this thing makes is like mechanical Ragnarok
This motivates me to be a multi-millionaire..
very nice I'm sure someone will have the £12.3M, ultimately its a shame these cars & many like it end-up as a garage queen never "or rarely ever" seeing daylight/a open road...
will we be seeing a video in regards to the F1 car you had for sale aka "Niki Lauda" as that is a work of automotive history/art which should be shared to the world..
I totally respect people that garage queen such special cars
Double that price for this car
@@allensaunders449 Sorry to say but that's the asking price its advertised for
@@ChuckNorris-gu9pq no, it maybe a rare iconic car but their still to drive, maybe more so on a track "closed OR a event day etc" but they should still be driven.
a cars a car not a ornament no matter what the price of it maybe
road car all day long
Agree! Road car with no HDF kit, in black or dark green would be my choice.
If it wasn't for that delay, the company probably wouldn't be relevent today
Throw in a set of floor mats and a full tank and I will take it.
