In static warfare frontline troops were fed via a field kitchen, the goulash cannon, as the Austro-Hungarian forces called them. Many countries that are successor states to Austria-Hungary still call them that today. Does anyone ever bring a goulash cannon to an event? That would be a cool public display.
That’s generally how some units offer food at places like Newville, others are more fend for yourselves. One central powers unit has an all original field kitchen they’ve refurbished and use to cook authentic food for the troops if memory serves correctly. This video serves as more of a guide for independent reenactors and to show how the German soldier could have found food during a large scale offensive, like the Kaiserschlacht
Love the Videos man! Just curious, are you apart of a reenactment group, or do you just do it own your own? (Trying to get into German reenacting myself so anything helps lol)
Hi there. Love the content, do you think you could do some content about the rape of Belgium? As there aren't that many detailed videos about that topic online.
