Me too and this is the most simple way I have seen so far, but I'm thinking about using a more powerful ac-motor and make a multitool, so I can sand or cut things, I ordered once some blades for dremel and some are really big, ways too big for a handtool and this would be a perfect use for them. I don't remember who, bur KJDOT or Creative Channel got a video with a really nice multitool, asmuch I remember it can even drill.

Does it sand/file down wood other than super soft Balsa wood (like the kind you demo'd here)? Or will the motor seize up and slow down of you try something harder than Balsa?

Can you use wood cutting circular wheel to cut wood instead of the disc sanding wheel . Or can you be swap able.

Grinding harder wood requires adding a synchronous wheel to the motor to slow down the speed and increase the torque.
