Chris Noble yes, it's so sad. That was one of the first Christmas movies I ever remember crying about. Particularly because she doesn't wait for him to return. Sad that she doesn't know who he was, it really got to me as a kid cause he's the hero and he didn't get the girl. The tear he shed when he found out she didn't love "Jack" as he was but was crazy for Jack Frost. That tear I always wondered if he was crying because he had a broken heart or if he was crying because he was happy to finally be credited and adored for the things he did as Jack Frost. Still, I wish there was a happier ending for him :( I classify this Jack and the one from GOTG as the same one lol. There's only one Jack Frost like there's only one Batman, he just looks different lol ;) So I hope the one in GOTG continues to do what he does. Looking to save $$ this Christmas? The solution is easy!! Buy your loved one a beautiful empty box- it's sure to be just what they've always wanted! If I had to make an advertisement for this movie, that's what it would say ^ But actually, this is a pretty sad scene
When I first watched this, I thought the box contained a gift for them each and they got a gift that was either super small or the animators forgot to add the gifts in due to animation budget or something, rewatching this now, I just realized, that the box is empty and they were simply pretending, which meant they couldn’t afford any gifts due to their debt, jeez, this is probably the saddest Christmas movie I have ever seen, but at least this song helps show that it’s not about the presents and more about appreciating what you have and spending time with family.
Ok number one, the people who disliked this were probably drunk or something Number two, now I want to do this song at a Christmas school dance or something.
Ok so I watch this every year and each year I try to figure out what each of them are imagining their gift is. I think Mama's is a new dress, or at least something to wear since she says "the color really suits me" but the others I don't know. Any guesses? Also I love how they just don't include Snip and Holly in this XD
The clues to their gifts are all in the body language. Jack's ideal gift is a hat. He lifts it with two hands, but then jauntily slaps it on his head with a flourish. Elise's ideal gift is a hand mirror. She says she'll use it every morning and primps in front of it a little. Mother's gift is, as you guessed, a dress. Father's gift is a pocket watch. He winds it up and listens to it tick. Then places it inside his vest.
It always lowkey bugged me that they skipped over Snip and Holly. I had thought maybe it was shortened for time, as many of the specials get cropped when they air on TV, but then I got it on DVD and Mama still walks right past Snip and Holly.
I always assumed (this is just my theory btw) that Snip and Holly were skipped because they already knew what Christmas was really about, giving rather than receiving
epicrapfan73 He was a very versatile voice actor. If I remember correctly, he was able to change his voice from a really low bass to co-tenor. Bqck then, it was unusual for a voice actor to obtain that ability.
Jack's present is a feather hat, Elise's is a hand mirror, I always though the mothers was a cloak, but I could see dress as well and the fathers is a watch.
