I just recently had a child, and as someone who greatly values their personal free time (and I'm generally pretty lazy), I really find the idea that having children "ruin your life" truly depressing. There are sacrifices I have to make, changes I have to do to my daily life, myself, and my mindset generally, in addition to gaining a whole heap of responsibilities. It's still not as difficult, or as easy as some say, but above all else at the end of the day it's undoubtedly all worth it for a myriad of reasons you can't summarize into a youtube comment. I can't even say that people who say it isn't are coping, no, they are just psyopped and brainwashed, which is that much more depressing when that person saying that would probably be a great parent.

The main point of contention people have with the "wait 'til you're ready" mentality is that many women end up waiting too long to have healthy children in their prime years, for a myriad number of reasons that I won't go into listing. It's pretty common and increasingly so in the developed world for women to be waiting into their 30s or even early 40s before having children, and this leads to greater rates of complications, birth defects, mental illnesses, etc. for both the mother and the child.
