I'm the drummer's mother and yes I am partial, but it's so evident by everyone's reaction, I ask myself ,
how is it possible for them to be so underrated and unnoticed for so long?
These boys are musicians. their live shows are amazing, why they have a big following especially in Europe. They're so creative and talented, I promise you I don't care what genre of music or artist you listen to, whether it be Michael Jackson all the way down to Sade I promise you, there is going to be 1 or more songs you like.
They are not mainstream, They're so creative and humble & the definition of perseverance especially after the bus crash in Spain. They had just played Jay Leno after 9/11 they were promoting anthology. They're all lucky to be alive. Took them many years to recover Dryden was inches from being like Christopher Reeve and in fear of never being able to sing again. With that coupled with less or no promoting & airplay you basically don't exist hence why you never heard of.
There are so many talented bands that have slipped through the cracks as a result of the industry only giving airplay to the mainstream therefore deciding for us what to listen to. I don't care how bad a song is, played enough, 2 things will happen , either it's irritating or you love it & their banking on the latter.
So much more, if you get a chance, pull up the video "These days"
Fromthe BET Awards what's funny is my son used to play with Snoop Dogg we lived next door to one another ,their paths have yet to cross.
Thank you so much for all the good words and the rest of you for all the good comments.
By the way I stumbled on this, I'm a huge Blondie fan and loved watching y'alls reaction. Check out 311 great musicians.
I love your reaction to the reaction🤠
when this came on trl back in the day couldnt find one person who disliked it!!! They knocked this one out the park!!!
I knew he would respect the bass line on this song...
Always enjoyed the sick bass in this one.
Man plays with all 4 fingers on his right hand. I tried to learn that method, never happened
You can tell how much these guys respect Michael. Everyone is just having a BLAST!
Best cover / tribute to the King of Pop ever
You should listen to Shaman's Harvest's cover of Dirty Diana
He did??
They got permission from MJ to do this cover and MJ LOVED IT! True story.
Love both versions of this song. AAF was a fun band... Check out "The Movies"
Used to listen to this back in 2005 all the time playing a few games. Great version of MJs song
This is the best cover of this classic Michael Jackson song. Enjoyed your review. RIP MJ...you are deeply missed....the young man dancing was throwing it down.
They played this instead of Sweet Home Alabama in The 5 Points Music Hall in Birmingham Alabama before this was a mega hit for them. They got boo'd off stage. They were awesome live.
Still love this song since it came out, these were prime years for me lol, garage bands and pawn shop mixers and microphones lol the kid dancing MJ so dope
I like this cover, it’s been in my playlist for a few years now.
It’s been in my playlist since I was 9, I’m 29 now 😅😂
I forgot how great the music video was for this song. 👍👍👍👍👍❤
I love seeing the surprise and joy on the faces of the oldschool MJ fans as they stsrt seeing the references to all the *other* MJ videos.
Lots of easter eggs in this one!
2:09 The lean.. obviously from the original video to Smooth Criminal. Everyone got that one!
2:28 The girl in the wolf head? shout back to the wolf that Michael turned into from Thriller.
2:53 the guys in the chair? small reference to the animated show "King of the Hill".
2:58 note the drummer. While drummers do tend to wear gloves to not get calluses on their hands, he's only wearing one, and on his right hand; the same hand Michael wore his glove on.
3:15 a given. Bubbles the chimp that he had during the Bad/Moonwalker days.
3:23 the sidewalk lights up when they step on it. The same thing that happened with Michael during the video for Billie Jean.
3:48 grabbing his junk and screaming and breaking the windows: shout back to the solo dance part from the extended video of Black or White.
3:54 the King of the Hill guys posing like they're dancing in Thriller.
3:58 That's from Michael throwing the block down on the manhole to make the steam come up, again from Black or White.
4:21 touching everything as it lights up. Again, throwback to Billie Jean when Michael was walking down that sidewalk.
That kid though! Note he was wearing a mask.. like how Michael would back then as well..
And at the end.. the guy with the eyes? Remember how Michael looked when the video for Thriller ended!
Alien Mike not Allen sugar!!! Thanks for my request/Reaction!! ❤🔥
I feel blessed you've put so many up on the channel from the livestream!!!🤘
Don't hurt yourself leaning!!!!!!🤣
Nice request lol
This was fun as hell to play on drums on rock band.
Speaking of waiting for "These days" check out that video also by alien ant farm. They crashed the bet awards and played a show outside on top of a building outside the red carpet!
Your sound is on PERFECT POINT! GLAD I STUCK AROUND FOR THE SHOUT OUTS!! MAN THAT BEAT WITH YOUR SHOUT OUTS WAS LIVE!!!!
This cover is right up there with Johnny Cash’s “Hurt” as an all-time great cover. Respected the song and made it their own.
This band was dope. I got their first album as a kid and loved it!!!!
I miss this band a lot they were so good
Hung out with these guys a couple of times before they signed with Dreamworks. Pretty funny guys.
I'm old too bro. I realized it the day my ex-girlfriend's brother asked me who Tom Green was.
Dude is so goofy, I love it. \m/
A lot of ppl never mention the glove he's sitting on or the socks at the end!
They had special shoes for the lean
Love this mix of this song
Loved AAF since their first album, makes me so happy to see more people still discovering them. You should absolutely watch the time they crashed the BET awards in order to make a video for 'These Days' ; it's hilarious and awesome. Also, the singer's more recent band 'Send the Sages' has some absolute bangers too.
PS: AAF did the "sway" move the same way MJ did: magnets in the shoes and under the stage. Feet are locked in? Can do that move (bit of practice to keep your body straight, of course, but that's how it's done. Though I'm sure some psycho has done it unaided by now).
My fave part was the little dude popping & locking
Brings back memories of the movie Breaking from the 80's
"These days" is another great song by them.
I have no idea why.... but this reminded me of The Bloodhound Gang lol.... you should check out "The Bad Touch" haha
oh you did already haha my bad ummm then "kiss me where it smells funny".... I think that's what it was called lol
MJ is the best pop artist to ever live! But, I really like this version! It's on my playlist! The references to MJ
are awesome!
You should try .. Saliva- they don't care about us- cover for MJ
Saw them in concert years ago with 311... Awesome show..
Saw them in 2001. Nothing like having 20,000+ people shouting "Woooo!" in unison.
Im sure Michael approved
Please listen to more of these guys in your own time if you can - they're a ridiculously tight band. Seems people only really associated them with this cover (which is tight AF regardless hahahah)
This is ALAN ant farm 🤣🤣
Thank You. You made me smile. I needed it. Have a Safe and Great New Year
Best cover EVER!
This song had all grown ass metal heads tryin to do the moonwalk back in the day
I wish I had the power to blow out the windows of nearby cars by screaming and grabbing my junk.
I like you ol' man, subscribing.. don't let me down :)
Thanks for sub, appreciate it.. peace and love always
Mike Cross, (lol)
Love your studio!
You GO BOO.. GET IT
Pretty sure i was in middle school when this song dropped, man it was a banger!! I've always wondered what ever happened to the dancing kid, he had talent!
There is actually a slot in the floor and a small tab built into the toe of the shoes to be able to lean
Brother
Much love to this reaction
Singer had a reverse Mohawk. Legend 😂
that was one big Tribute to Michael Jackson
Great reaction Mike!! You always make me laugh!! You did great with the lean too!
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
Reaction well done! 👊🤘🍻
THAT was AWESOME 😎 Haven't heard that in eons.. I sure needed that
I swear to all that is Holy, before I watch this @The Music Recording Network PLEASE be the 1st reaction to Mike the Drummer's One-Handed Drum Roll, it's really tricky(Hard) to copy
Another great Song, and great reaction!
I love you his version. It truly rocks and it's fun! You should check out Pretty Fly for a White Guy by Offspring.😜
Covered very well !!!!
Lil Mans got the moves
That kid is ahead of his time, already masked up
😷 Big Facts!!
It's because mj was. He was a germophobe
What an entertaining goofball 😂
Wow dude.... working as hard as I can.... thanks for watching and your comment.... peace and love always ✌
I wonder what MJ thought of this cover. GO RAMS!! HORNS UP!!🤘🤘
They played at his tribute
Huge fan, nothing really to say but hello
Your reaction was funny as heck.
I am very happy to have seen your channel grow, I trolled a little bit, take it for what it's worth, but I really am extremely happy for you and yours Mike....KingMe🤴
Welcome back!
@@TheMusicRecordingNetwork I truly am happy for you and your family, I wish for continued success, you are blessed and that is wonderful.... God bless you🙏
Me in 2005 : “Why is that kid wearing a mask”?
Me in 2020 : “Why isn’t everyone wearing a mask”?
Lolol... yes 👍
Michael Jackson always wore masks in public.
Us replying to #onepieceofgum's 2nd question-- Maybe because covid no longer EXISTS anymore. (Why didja think the media stopped reporting "new cases"?) The only remaining "pandemic" IS social distancing (and yet we DON'T have to wear masks outdoors). Stop telling US how to live OUR lives, maskie.
For that lean. He used special shoes that hooked into nails in the floor. So that's how you do it.
New found glory - my friends over you
Amazing reaction
This cat ain't no joke.
michael jackson had the patent for stage pegs that go up and enter the shoe heel so you can lean that far
Dig the Chuck Brown concert shirt. Cheers!
Appreciate that bass
I do love that version of that song 😉
Takes me back....
"Imma do it wit em". Nah unc, don't do it on em. 🤣🤣
Great reaction!
I saw you holding on to the table
this song was on MTV like 24h\7 week, non stop hhh
The homage they paid to MJ is so respectable. Covering an MJ song is pretty much not a good idea (hardcore fans, impossible to make it better). They did it justice. They did the song differently, but not too different, and, again, paid homage to MJ.
Hahaha I really love that song! I love that riffs, also, I like your videos pal nice
It's a great cover.
Koritni does a dope cover to Thriller...Shamans Harvest did a cover for Dirty Diana..Now that I think of it it's sounding like more rock bands have done more covers to Michael Jacksons songs than pop artists have ???
This brings me back to middle school haha
Brings me back to elementary school
Man I miss the 90's. what the hell happened over these last 20 years.
Bravo ! cool reaction) Hello from Ryssian)
Unpopular Opinion The cover is doper than the original song.
Lol fun remake. I know the song very well but I've never seen the video LMAO thank you haha that was very funny
Love this reaction lol question why we don't see your family anymore
Great reaction! 🖒🖒
Great cover by A.A.F.
You should definitely check out the cover version of They Don't Really Care About Us by Saliva.
Another guy suggested it. I quite agree with him.
Try listening to These Days by Alien Ant Farm
Allen Ant Farm
Several MJ videos represented in this one
awesome!!
Check out Dirty Vegas- Days Go By
fun video!
Best one-hit-wonder ever. Too bad this is their best song from that album
This was a love letter to Michael.
As far as covers of Michael Jackson songs... Chris Cornell's version of "Billie Jean" is amazing. Much different take on the song.
You should definitely checkout Dirty Diana by Shaman's Harvest, a great cover of an MJ song
💚💚💚💚💚💚
how did i never see this, you should have slaptrood this whole song
Aww yeah
