If you've played BDO and you've seen how crazy it gets in there, then you know that this is 100% possible. It'll probably have bugs at launch, but scale-wise I trust Pearl Abyss on this... especially considering that it's single player.
I dont understand the doubt for this one being possible. If they can make a high fidelity MMO, with relevant enemy AI and a massive world, then they can make that same game --- but offline. The story wont be great, but it will be full of progression and grinding and cunematic abilities. Its incredibly clear that this game is real, and possible. People just need to be realistic

For me, as someone who has played bdo. Graphically, this looks a little bit better and the main bottle neck. Was cpu when there were more than 20 player characters on screen. Never had any issues when pulling a lot of npc monsters and killing them. Only when around 20 or more players were on screen did the fps take a hit. That level of ghosting from my memory is consistent with bdo at max setting no upscaling.
Regarding the crowd size when you talk about a beefy PC. Yes, they most likely are running this on the best hardware as most studios would, but something to remember is that big crowd sizes have been done before. See the latest hitman games and older AC games. It all comes down to how NPCs are handled. If they’re just kind of static with basic animations and pathfinding running you can optimize for that like Hitman does. Dragons dogma is worst case scenario because the NPCs were coded with brains that run a daily life simulation which is a completely different beast.

Black Desert Online has a LOT of NPCs on screen (the world is very much alive because of them), it's probably the MMO with the highest number of NPCs on screen, perhaps even more than many AAA SPs.

The fact that this game won't be multiplayer immediately makes me sad. It seems like the perfect game to play with your friends. The sole fact that it will be probably riddled with MMO type quests makes it almost obligatory to run with friends to not get bored by fetching.
I think the story is gonna be the kind of loose, anime lite type story we’ve seen in games like Dragon’s Dogma where it’s definitely there but kind of directionless, weird and generic at the same time…game still looks great though

I don't understand why people are excited for this game. The bright particle effects are migraine inducing, and it looks like 99,9% of the world is non-interactive. I think people are hyping it up to something it isn't, just like The Callisto Protocol.
For me, this might be a contender for the game of the year next year. As gta 6 will not be on pc at launch because they want to double dip. I am never buying a Rockstar game on console they have the money to do a high quantity pc version date in date with consoles. And there will be a pc version. it's just going to take about 13 months. Based on Rockstars past.

What makes me skeptical about this game is that they promised a lot of things but barely showed us anything apart from the combat system. There's a few seconds of gameplay other than combat in each trailer but that's not enough for me. I need evidence that the gameplay isn't gonna be combat focused with barely any story or exploration.
Another massive ambitious and overhyped game to watch crash and burn on release. This game will get a 7/10 and look like garbage compared to Black Myth WuKong which is actually a S tier 10/10 masterpiece.

Game mostly uses a lot of BDO assets. As its the same dev and on the same engine. Which is pearl abyss own engine that was used for BDO
So if you have an issue with them reusing there on assets then you will have issues with fromsoftware.
