I may have first encountered this in Andy Kirk's book, Data Visualisation. I think it's not a common chart, however there could be very specific use cases. I think your best bet might be to feed it through Tableau Prep?
Is ranking given on the basis of year ?
The line is drawn based on the year sequence, but the ranking is based on how the amount stacks up against all products for that year.
But why would I make this? Seems like a very awkward chart…
