For anybody confused about this timeline: Homura goes back in time to save Madoka. Unlike the anime timeline, when Mami offers her the grief seed as a peace offering, she accepts and forms an alliance with Mami. Homura and Mami fight witches together while Sayaka and Madoka (who have yet to make contracts) watch; Homura kills Charlotte and Mami survives. Sayaka makes her wish to save Kyousuke and becomes a magical girl, joining the team with Homura and Mami. When Kyouko starts the duel with Sayaka, she's interrupted by Mami, her long-time old friend. Realizing that Sayaka and Mami have an alliance, she drops the duel. This causes her and Sayaka to become friends much more quickly than in the anime timeline, allowing her to save Sayaka from despair. Homura tells them that they all need to team up to fight Walpurgisnacht, which is going to manifest over their city. They all work together in Homura's apartment coming up with their plans, and then they go to fight the witch. Meanwhile Madoka, tucked safely in the shelter, is worried sick about her friends. Kyuubey tells her that becoming a magical girl might save them, and she decides to go find them and act as a potential backup. Mami is struck by a falling building and nearly killed, sapping most of her magic. Realizing the true nature of magical girls, she shoots and destroys her soul gem rather than allow herself to turn into a witch. The other girls quickly realize that this witch is more powerful than they were anticipating, but keep fighting anyway. Sayaka is injured and dies in Kyouko's arms despite Kyouko's desperate attempts to save her. Empty with grief for Sayaka, Kyouko uses up most of her remaining magic in a blow to Walpurgisnacht and destroys her soul gem in the process. Homura realizes that she is now left to fight the witch alone. Madoka, arriving on the scene, asks her what's happened to their friends and realizes that they've all been killed. Believing that becoming a magical girl is the only way to save Homura, she prepares to make a contract with Kyuubey despite Homura begging her not to. In her desperation, Homura shoots Kyuubey to prevent the contract from being fulfilled. But the situation is still incredibly dangerous, and still-mortal Madoka is struck by a falling building. Homura is powerless to help, and Madoka is killed. Homura resets the timeline.
I think the most upsetting part about this video is that it's an absolute best-case scenario. Everyone is friends, everyone lives to work as a team to fight Walpurgisnacht... ...and they still get massacred.

playing the visual novels and other arcs of higurashi gives it even more depth, you should try it out. Madoka and Higurashi are very similar, but also not. Would reccomend both to anyone who likes either.
This still holds up so well. Every time I rewatch the show I almost always have to go back to this AMV right after episode 10. It could be it's own episode tbh
@@loxem2668 Sort of. It's similar to what would happen if you set all the flags for the best ending in Homura's route (Mami alive, Sayaka contracted but not witched, Kyoko allied with Homura) but then couldn't defeat the final boss. But in the game, if you die in the final boss battle on Homura's route, you only get a special Game Over screen, not a full ending.
@@alexjackson7929 I swear YT never tells me when I get replies 😭😭 But that's neat, I never played/watched the psp game. Maybe I should give it go if it has stories like this.
Honestly, the Anime as well as the Manga, and the movies, all remind me of Higurash mainly because they both focus on one female protagonist who's trying their hardest to save their friend or friends by the use of time travel in hopes of a beautiful future, however no matter how many times they go back and/or start over, it just keeps ending in tragedy.
@@nikkkola99 higurashi S1 is pretty much just some bland horror anime, the other seasons dive into it well. The visual novels are by far the best choice, though.
It's sad to think there almost certainly were timelines like this where everybody banded together to fight the Walpurgis Nacht, and it still wasn't enough.
Okay, this is just brilliant. I always thought episode ten should have been longer so it could show more tragic outcomes, more traumatic events that molded Homura into the emotionally scarred cynic from the penultimate timeline that we know and love. And this is a great work in that vein.
I saw this after watching the Madoka anime for the first time, nine years ago. When I heard that the Rebellion sequel was coming out, I looked everywhere for it and was able to find it today. It’s still so good, after all this time

You know, I watched this before watching the series, and I actually thought the events in this video happened in the series. Now that I know this is just the work of a talented editor, I am in awe. Beautiful work.
Mami's worked with Kyoko before. And Walpurgisnacht didn't originally go down to a combo -- it killed Mami with no visible damage, and Madoka had to beat it alone. In this video's scenario, assuming Kyoko arrives at the same time as canon, the "Magica Quartet" (nyuk nyuk nyuk) has two full weeks to work on group tactics, armed with all Homura's knowledge. I think it makes sense for them to be at least as effective as the first timeline.
This is the most amazing AMV I've ever seen. The timing and editing are flawless, and this really seems like the way things would have gone in a past timeline. It also perfectly explains why Homura didn't try to recruit Mami or Sayaka during the show.
I have watched this AMV alot of times now, but until now, I still gain extreme chills when watching this. The elegance yet rapid pace of the music really picks up with your emotions and blends beautifully especially in the end, making it all the more amazing and tragic. For me, this is the best Puella Magi AMV, because it creates a story on its own, and aside from other AMV's, this one can actually make you feel deep regressions despite not having lyrics. The video, the music, everything was blended perfectly. Truly a masterpiece.
The best part is that it can actually be a canon alternative time-line like the others shown in the tenth episode of the serie. Thinking about it, this would explain Homura's behavior in the last time-line. After that, the method used to make this video is just fantastic! The anime's scenes are mixed like that's an original part of Madoka, and the music fits perfecly with this. I'd love to be able to make videos like this one!
Happy Walpurgisnacht everyone! And this short movie is truly amazing; visual storytelling at its finest - you manage to tell cohesive and emotional story without saying a single word. Show not tell, indeed!
"I'll repeat it. I'll continue to repeat it over and over. Visiting the same time again and again, searching for the single exit out. Searching for the path to save you from a fate of despair." -Homura, Akemi
Actually, this ending is pretty realistic. In fact, it seems implied that it is essentially impossible to defeat Walpurgis Night without Madoka. In the video game, you can unlock a bonus route which involves Homura keeping all of the other girls alive and happy (similar to this one) without Madoka contracting. However, even in the end, their combined power wasn't enough to be able to defeat Walpurgis Night. Think about it- in all of the timelines, which ones defeated Walpurgis Night, and who?
It's very strongly implied that she has been through it or something similar; it's a stretch to think that she never tried cooperation in any of cycles she's been through, and if it's been tried and failed it explains why she doesn't try very hard when we see her. Homura is characterised by fanatical devotion and desperation, not justifiable self-confidence. Remember that Walpurgisnacht has gotten worse every time she's turned back time, and that Madoka is unusually powerful.
I love this so much my first time watching this was yesterday and since then I have watched it about 100 times ! I just can't get enough of this timeline !
woah :D ! GOOD JOB with the editing ! !.. its hard to find madoka amv's which don't use the scenes we've seen million times already. and this one is VERY WELL DONE
This is a good video and a good timeline but the battle with Walpurgis makes me want to cry-especially with the music you used. Such an emotional anime.
There is no word in the dictionary to adquately appraise the masterpiece you've created. I honestly thought this AMV was based on the movies (which I haven't seen yet) until I realized that every scene was taken from the show. You've practically created an alternate timeline for the anime. Hands down, you are a genius.
So this is what would've happen if they all (except Madoka) fought. Poor Magical Girls Hope in there hearts, & courage in there souls, & one goal in there mind to beat Waalpugisnacht & they fight bravely just TO ALL DIE IN THE END (YUP I'M SICK)
Wow. I don't know why I expected a happy ending. But I really like this AN. Mami and Homura had teamed up, thus Mami surviving their encounter with Charlotte. Sayaka joins in, Kyoko fights with her but Mami interferes. Kyoko has befriended Mami before and tolerates Sayaka because of that. They all become closer. Thus Sayaka is able to share her grief with Kyoko, saving her from despair. They all live until Walpurgis nacht. Unfortunately, they still don't stand a chance...
An OVA based on this concept would be SERIOUSLY cool. And it'd be really easy to fit into the continuity, cos, you know. Timelines. If anything, it'd be cool just for the potential references to The Different Story, ha.
But Madoka is only strong because her karmic destiny has been majorly because of all the time loops. SPOILERS FOR REBELLION! Homura can do it because her witch powers have been growing stronger because she has had it circulating in her gem for ages.
A timeline similar to this fan-made one actually exists! It's a bonus route in the Madoka Magica PSP Game that's really fun to watch [until the end ;A;]. Homura approaches the girl in a different, more friendly manner and helps Mami overcome her loneliness by becoming an idol, helps Sayaka get together with Kyosuke, and helps Kyokou get what she wants without fighting the others. So in the end all 5 of the girls are allies and take on Walpurgisnacht together, but still end up being defeated, resulting in Homura resetting the timeline once more.
In fact, no. The AMV creator manipulated the footage to create a nearly all-new event! The show is Madoka Magica, by the way, all of it is ready to be seen on Hulu. It's fantastic.
Walpurgisnacht is described not as a single witch, but as a conglomeration of many witches that were absorbed by one original witch. It's possible that the absorption began long before Homura became a magical girl, and she can only reset the timeline for a month, so it may be impossible for her to nip the problem at the source.
Well, Some scenes actually happened; In the Game. For example, Homura and Mami fighting Charlotte. That happened in the game (psp) And, in the Game, in Homura's trail, she has Mami, Kyoko and Sayaka to fight Walpurgisnatch, without having Madoka to become a Mahou Shoujo. However, the one who made it, has really good editing skills :3
Fits so perfectly - as if in one of those many timelines Homura actually did try to collect all the girls; but it nevertheless didn't work. And therefore.... ;__;
Okay before i watched madokamagica i've watched this so this video actually made me watch the anime and after that i just noticed ALL OF THESE SCENES ARE EDITED PRETTY FUCKING PROFESSIONALLY ANYONE WHO MADE THIS SHOULD GO INTO THE SHELVES OF AWESOMENESS OK. The other girls quickly realize that this witch is more powerful than they were anticipating, but keep fighting anyway. Madoka's wish to become a goddess was the best decision. Even though she sacrificed herself it was for the good of all magical girls.
This would explain soo much in regards to Homura's development. Maybe even a kinda missing link. (I consider Oriko for instance way more far fetched)

playing the visual novels and other arcs of higurashi gives it even more depth, you should try it out.
Madoka and Higurashi are very similar, but also not. Would reccomend both to anyone who likes either.
OML NOT THE MASSACRE ARC
the Madoka illustrations of Sayaka and Kyoko at 1:24 that the creator must've drawn themselkves... amazing
This still holds up so well. Every time I rewatch the show I almost always have to go back to this AMV right after episode 10. It could be it's own episode tbh
Pretty sure this AMV is based on one of the PSP game endings.

I swear YT never tells me when I get replies 😭😭
But that's neat, I never played/watched the psp game.
I preferred Higurashi.
And I thought I was the only one who thought this!
With the difference that Higurashi is shit.
Nixo NS i liked higurashi.
The editing skills of the person who made this AMV are incredible.
All I can hear Madoka say at the end is "Homura, why won't you let me help you?" And then I start crying like a little baby.
Okay, this is just brilliant.
I always thought episode ten should have been longer so it could show more tragic outcomes, more traumatic events that molded Homura into the emotionally scarred cynic from the penultimate timeline that we know and love. And this is a great work in that vein.
So Madoka, with the darker story elements taken out, is still depressing as hell. Love this.
One of Homura's many timelines
Well, looks like Mami lost her HEAD again
I saw this after watching the Madoka anime for the first time, nine years ago. When I heard that the Rebellion sequel was coming out, I looked everywhere for it and was able to find it today. It’s still so good, after all this time
I think this is my favorite MAD of all of them.

AM I THE ONLY ONE HERE FEELS STRICKEN BUT THIS OS STILL AWESOME
Yeah, i cry everytime i see it... But is still awsome!
Madoka Kaname I get chills everytime , but yeah its really cool
Yes!
Ikr, that was awesome even though it never happened :D
Shameimaru Aya
Still theorizing that this was an actual timeline that Homura went through before she decided to go it alone.
pure genius ...
Exactly how I felt
Searching for the path to save you from a fate of despair."
-Homura, Akemi
To whoever made this, salute! --7
なんでか泣けるんだよなこれ 懐かしい
Actually, this ending is pretty realistic. In fact, it seems implied that it is essentially impossible to defeat Walpurgis Night without Madoka. In the video game, you can unlock a bonus route which involves Homura keeping all of the other girls alive and happy (similar to this one) without Madoka contracting. However, even in the end, their combined power wasn't enough to be able to defeat Walpurgis Night. Think about it- in all of the timelines, which ones defeated Walpurgis Night, and who?
this is probably how the story would go if all the magical girls in madoka magica did work together. good work!
When I was there, on 16.08.23, in 15:28, there was 666 thousands views.
なにが凄いって「こんな場面は無かった」のに話が出来上がってるのが凄い
This is AMAZING! To whoever made this, know that you've made me really happy. Thank you so much. :)
Oh my god the editing on this was amazing! It was beautiful and so sad! It gave me the chills!
This video always gives me goosebumps.
(Also, if anyone wants to know what the song is, it's called Croatian Rhapsody by Maksim Mrvica.)
So this is what would've happen if they all (except Madoka) fought. Poor Magical Girls Hope in there hearts, & courage in there souls, & one goal in there mind to beat Waalpugisnacht & they fight bravely just TO ALL DIE IN THE END (YUP I'M SICK)
This is amazingly beautiful. Closest I've come to crying since this show ruined sad things for me.
This would be the best full length OVA ever. Aniplex, get on that shit.
Geez that masking is CLEAN
Incredible editing and storytelling with a moving score. Brilliant!
This took me forever to find 😭
Outstanding. What they made out of existing images, editing, and no dialogue.
At first I was like
Me: WHOOOO THEY'RE GONNA KILL DA WITCH YEAA GOOO FOR IT BANZAAAI
When They died:
Me: ....So..Um..Yeah..*sobs *
yOU CREATED A WHOLE ANOTHER TIME LINE OUT OF THE SERIES ITS PERFECT
the editing in this is unbelievable. i cant even fathom how long
Wow this was good.
Here however long later bc this song slaps
This MAD leaves me trembling and in tears almost as badly as episode 10. Well done.
this was edited so well it doesn't even look like its from the anime, 10/10
An OVA based on this concept would be SERIOUSLY cool. And it'd be really easy to fit into the continuity, cos, you know. Timelines.
If anything, it'd be cool just for the potential references to The Different Story, ha.
Incredible editing, my thanks to Tesh for making such a beautiful piece of work for us to enjoy.
God what a fucking classic
Ay yi yi, I keep coming back and watching this over and over again. Shivers. *,*
I...Im a lost for words...one of the most best animes, made into more beautifulier artwork than it already is...
Walpurgisnacht- The ultimate troll.
.............You just made another freaking amazing timeline.
I can't stop watching this.
My friends can't stop watching this.
Because the first time we watched it, we were like HEADCANON ALERT!
I might sound like heart human from this, but the part where mami shoots herself is my fav. I love the mood they got into that point :)
Technically they shouldn't be able to beat Walpurgisnacht no matter what because she is a composite of 200 witches. (Read the manga).
Unless there were like 100 magical girls...?
They weren't actually weak ones, they were just taken by five extremely powerful Magi.
Because it's 200 WITCHES! That is like saying five guys with Tommy guns can take out 200 with pistols. It would be even harder than that.
But Madoka is only strong because her karmic destiny has been majorly because of all the time loops. SPOILERS FOR REBELLION! Homura can do it because her witch powers have been growing stronger because she has had it circulating in her gem for ages.
Matter of opinion. I think no matter what when Homura is doing the time loops it would be impossible no matter how many times she tried.
Beautiful timeline
...I came, i stayed , i came , i died... This was beautiful.
Mixed Video. I love it! Magical!
This looks like one of the timelines from the video game.
Either way, I love it, and I can see it happening. This is so beautifully done.
In fact, no.
The AMV creator manipulated the footage to create a nearly all-new event!
The show is Madoka Magica, by the way, all of it is ready to be seen on Hulu. It's fantastic.
I don't remember some of the clips used from the anime. Fantastic ending btw.
Most of this is edited.
For all those wondering the song is Croatian Rhapsody by Maksim.
this is perfection! you made a whole new time line!
this is a work of art.
so close to tears right now
Walpurgisnacht is described not as a single witch, but as a conglomeration of many witches that were absorbed by one original witch. It's possible that the absorption began long before Homura became a magical girl, and she can only reset the timeline for a month, so it may be impossible for her to nip the problem at the source.
DAAAAAAAAAYEM! That was amazing. Both the editing skills and the amv itself.
However, the one who made it, has really good editing skills :3
....I can't find words to describe my feelings
Fits so perfectly - as if in one of those many timelines Homura actually did try to collect all the girls; but it nevertheless didn't work. And therefore.... ;__;
Okay before i watched madokamagica i've watched this so this video actually made me watch the anime
and after that i just noticed ALL OF THESE SCENES ARE EDITED PRETTY FUCKING PROFESSIONALLY ANYONE WHO MADE THIS SHOULD GO INTO THE SHELVES OF AWESOMENESS OK. YOU JUST MADE A WHOLE NEW STORY/TIMELINE FROM A 12-EPISODE ANIME I DONT EVEN
