Got 6 in about half an hour so I switched to the 115 surf pointer LC , second cast a 11” BSP and then a 17” halibut and then I hooked up on what looked like a 24-25” halibut but it somehow came unbuttoned right at the shoreline 💔🤣! Felt good to get bit again though! Looking forward to seeing you out there and your future vids🤙🏼

Good advice - always experiment to see what the fish want under current weather and pressure conditions. Kastmasters, phoebe's and roostertails are all great "first stocking" lures to try. Different colors and retrievals to show them something new. Different color mini jigs are also good. Fish see others get caught or maybe were hooked themselves and eventually shy away. That is where things like powerbait can be tried next - its not as fun as chucking and winding but we have to listen to the fish
Hey! Which Phenix Rod do you have? If it isn't one of their classic trout rods like the Elixir, then be sure to know the rod rating. My guess is that it should be fine for throwing power bait, but mini jigs will need a super ultralight setup...a line rating of 2 - 6 pound would probably be best. I use 2 lb for throwing mini jigs.

Ultralight heavyweights, Gorditos customs, matador are all solid. Many good options out there, I think it’s just personal preference.
