I got this box back in 2009 when it was first released-excellent package. Wish Ralf would re-release the first 3 albums. Just saw them in concert at Massey Hall on Monday June 6-my third time, excellent show. I would put the Velvet Underground as possibly the second most influential group after the Beatles.
Ive had this box set for a few years. It sounds great. My only complaint is that the CDS are VERY hard to remove from ghier cases. They are inserted so tightly its very difficult to remove them out of the cardboard covers. Still , Its an awesome box. Too bad they didnt include he Pre-Autobahn lp Ralf and Florian. A fgreat pre Kraftwerk album by the co-founders.
I first heard Kraftwerk when I was 2 years old. My brother played me the Man Machine. The love for this group has never waned. Now you need the three albums before Autobahn. A lovely box set!!!
Very cool! Thanks for showing this! I had no idea that was available. I have only heard The Man Machine. I picked up a German pressing of it on vinyl 15-20 years ago.
The Man Machine was my favourite album by them & led to me buying the great Ultravox album HA HA HA & soon thereafter getting into Gary Numan. Awesome Set 👌
I do own this box set, I bought it in 2009 when it was released I saw Kraftwerk live in 2004 and then in 2014 at the Sony Centre in Toronto. I had tickets to see them last year but it was cancelled. Great collection, I hope they re-release the first 3 albums. Good video!
Many dance songs lift samples of Kraftwerk's pieces ... I am pretty sure that the guitar intro on Talk by Coldplay has been adapted from the electronic keyboard intro on Computer Love, from the Computer World album.. YAGP ! 👍
I wish that Kraftwerk would re-master their first three albums. Although I feel that the second is a bit weak the first and third (Ralf & Florian) are absolutely excellent. Although I have them on vinyl the only CDs that you can buy are bootlegs taken from vinyl copies, so they could at least save their fans from that. Also, maybe, time to dust of the hippy classic Tonefloat by their previous incarnation Organisation . . .
_Ralf & Florian_ is fantastic...in fact it might be my favorite in their whole catalog. I like "Ruckzuck" and "Kling-Klang" from their first two albums, but the other tracks on those records don't do much for me. _Tone Float_ is worth a listen too.
@@jhillst I agree. I also feel that Kraftwerk 1 is overlooked. Kraftwerk 2 is a mixed bag. I do like Tone Float, but I can see that it wouldn't be for everybody. I have all the above on original vinyl (and bootleg CDs, because Ralf won't let me have legit ones)
I adore Kraftwerk. From Autobahn to Tour de France there is not a single unispired musical moment on their records. Masters of their craft, highly influential, top notch musicianship. Although I own their catalogue in English as well as in German, and although I grew up with the English versions of The man machine and Computer world, I do prefer the German releases. Slight differences in the mixes, too. You might want to try Computerwelt as I find it sounds better than Computer world.
Hello there niamh Oh boy did go a bit mad on Monday I got some much albums CD and dvd and whs I got two elp concerts on VHS Which was a big find And some yes King crimson And tangerine dream On VHS I got some Peter Gabriel dvds And Rick wakeman And I bought about 50 lp And I got two box full of single Which the owner of the shop given to me So I need to find out what is in these boxes I had a wonderful day 🖤🖤🖤👍🤘🐰
My first Kraftwerk album was Man Machine so it holds a special place for me. I think my favourite though is Trans Europe Express (classy!!) followed closely by Radio Activity. Oh heck thery're all good really.
I adore Kraftwerk and my all time favourite German band. Also btw their first three albums are krautrock sounding albums before they went into electronic, with Autobahn not actually their first album. I adore their discography and I was actually very very lucky to have The Man Machine and Trans Europe Express signed by Wolfgang Flur when he did some solo stuff and I had pictures with him. Awesome box set and one of the greatest bands ever.
It's a shame Kraftwerk now completely disregards their pre-Autobahn material. Granted they were a different category of band back then, but some of that stuff is wonderful, particularly the album by their previous band Organisation and also their third album _Ralf & Florian_ -- the latter in particular is one of the best instrumental albums I've ever heard. I wish Florian Schneider had never given up the flute...he did some amazing things with that instrument back in the day.
The German Language Versions are better. I think you will here that the englisch Lyrics are not sung by an English. In Germany we say to this "Denglisch". Same with Rammstein. Nobody would here them sing in English. The german Lyrics are not so complicated. "Fahrn, fahrn, fahrn auf der Autobahn" or "Wir sind die Roboter" will everybody understand. By the way, the Box-Set Sound ist fantastic.
The most important and influential group of the 20th century. They completely changed and revolutionised the way that music was made and didn't just influence individual bands and musicians but influenced the creation of whole genres. Obviously electronic music existed before Kraftwerk, but they made it danceable
nice boxset, shame that the remaining Kraftwerk members loathe their 1970-73 era material so much, that they refuse to reissue any of them.Ralf und Florian from 1973 sounds like synth pop nearly a decade before the 80's and the first two album ,take minimalism to extremes
Have you thought this through sufficiently. The Krafters might take your earwax away from the prognerdyalblums! You might end up in deep techno or esoteric ambient realms from now on?!
Kraftwerk are not really my kind of thing. Everything I liked about them left to form Neu! And Neu! are fantastic. This is just one of those bands everyone loves but I just don't get.

I love Kraftwerk! They're my second favorite German electronic band after Tangerine Dream. Very nice set!
Where does Trio fall in your list? I jest, sort of ;-) I actually love Trio.

Always Always a Good Watch no matter what music is being talked about and yes I happen to Like Kraftwerk
Very cool! Thanks for showing this! I had no idea that was available. I have only heard The Man Machine. I picked up a German pressing of it on vinyl 15-20 years ago.
That was a super boxset, i've ordered the live album boxset. that was within my budget!
Great that you are buying more music but I kinda miss you vinyl videos.
I still make vinyl content
The Man Machine was my favourite album by them & led to me buying the great Ultravox album HA HA HA & soon thereafter getting into Gary Numan. Awesome Set 👌
Man Machine is my favorite as well.
Hi David, pretty much followed the same happy pathway as you. "Man Machine" - "Systems of romance" - "Replicas". Exciting days
Bless you Niamh!
Words to live by...

I've loved this band since the 70's. Man Machine and Computer World are my favorites. Actually got into Rammstein from their cover of Das Model.
ahh I love Kraftwerk! only got 'The Man Machine' atm but hoping to get more soon :)
loved it! Computer Love, Radioactivity and The Man Machine are my favorites

Nice video ... Great boxset.. ßaw them when I lived in Munich....

Kraftwerk has no bad album between 1974-1981; the rest though is forgetable.

Hi niamh
Have you thought this through sufficiently. The Krafters might take your earwax away from the prognerdyalblums! You might end up in deep techno or esoteric ambient realms from now on?!
Noice
Kraftwerk are not really my kind of thing. Everything I liked about them left to form Neu! And Neu! are fantastic. This is just one of those bands everyone loves but I just don't get.
Have you heard or seen the performance of the track Vor Dem Blauen Bock by Kraftwerk? Dinger, Rother and Schneider. Pre Neu!
@@Stephen09479 Yes I have. It's fantastic!
@@chazblitz It is indeed. A shame that line up never released a studio album.
outside ? as a prögg nördt ? you häve to bee in kräftwörk v v
The booklets are one hell of a cop out. A few photos that relate to nothing much and no words. What a con...
Good band but hardly hard hippy prog rock, krautrock i think they call it
I’m trying to branch out
I think they are very overrated. I am a huge krautrock fan.
