Thank you for this! My wife and I just did this and it worked great! A couple things we ran into that others might as well. The studded bolts were very hard to take out. Ended up putting some wd-40 on them and letting them sit 10 minutes and they came out fairly easy. Also, we replaced the weather seal that went across the top of that panel that has the Ford emblem on it. The original was crumbling off. We just used a rubber door/window seal and it worked fine. Just saved a ton of money!!!
This is an excellent video! Thank you. Couple of items specific to a 2013 Edge: 1. The center 2 studs do not have to be removed. 2. There is a locking tab directly under the edge of the camera that is not visible unless you gently pry the 2 surfaces apart. 3. Bit of WD40 makes studs easier to replace. I used the nut with deep well socket to reinstall. Then backed nut off and snugged.
Ive replaced 4 of these now and can do it under 10 minutes. The problem is they made several models of cameras and depending on year they are slightly different mounting techniques.
Thank you for the video! I just changed mine,2013 Ford Edge. It cost me 67 Canadian dollars to buy the camera on Amazon. The new one works better than the old one,no need for dealers to reset. Watch this video and be patient, not everything comes out very easy. It is doable for a person with average mechanical skills. Big credit to the author of this video!
Great video, very helpful, thanks. Just one suggestion, instead of using vise grips to remove and replace the six threaded studs, screw two of the nuts on the stud, tighten the nuts together with two wrenches, then use a wrench and one of the nuts to remove/replace the stud.
Great tutorial! Your step by step instructions were perfect. I finished in about 90 minutes....and no plastic tabs or clips were broken!! That's always my worry when doing any car interior projects.Taking that final panel off to get to the camera mount was very much appreciated.
Absolutly accurate, comprehensive, easy to understand & a MUST Watch if wanting to replace camera CORRECTLY & without damage…tip…follow video and BE PATIENT👍
A fantastic video watched it twice and the whole job took me 30 minutes The hardest part is getting all the small clips out of the Camara light holding panel Thank you very much
Thanks very much for the detailed video on how to replace the camera in my 2013 Edge! Fantastic explanation and very much appreciated sir! You saved me probably an hour of trying to figure half of this stuff out! Got an HD replacement camera and I couldn’t be happier!
OMG! I was so happy to come across this video. Same day and got the new camera in the afternoon, and now the backup camera issue is fixed. I am so ve3ry happy. Thank you for the details on how to do this as well as providing the link for the new camera. Problem solved! Bless you.
@@addismultitasking3504 My wife (its her car) pointed out that the top of the license plate is showing in the camera vid. and never did before. I just looked at it now and see nothing not sitting right. Is there a way to adjust this so we do not see the license plate at all?
GREAT Tutorial!!! I just replaced mine and all went as planned. The new cam even somehow added bars on screen that bend to show if you’re turning while backing up to help better guide you into a spot safely. Very cool! Thanks for this vid! It was the perfect guide to do it RIGHT without breaking anything! Thanks again!
Thanks! I was able to do it completely! My advice is to be PATIENT, and take things slowly. I accidentally broke a clip, but nothing that affected it too much. Trying not to use too much force is good advice. With the pressure pliers, you have to squeeze it enough, so that it makes torque and the screws come loose.
Thank you. I’m a female and was able to do this myself and save money. Only problem I had was unscrewing the threaded screws and I broke one of the push pin wings following another video. I was pulling it down instead of pushing it in. Should have used your video first.
Great video. I've watched several and this one points out some little tips and tricks that the others don't mention. The demonstration of using a small flat blade screwdriver to separate the plastic tabs is pretty key. They break very easily.
I agree. This worked terrific. Just had to use WD-40 on one stubborn double-sided screw. And careful when going through using the flat head screw driver part. Thanks!!
Thank you. Very well presented and super easy to follow. Got a bit lost on disconnecting camera but overall great video. You saved me a bunch of money from having Future Ford do this.
Ok, so this worked, and thanks for that. You know how to make a good video, as in you hold the camera close and steady when showing detail. Very few people get this. Two thing: The metal double sided screws that you need to take out with vice grips. Mine were stuck in hard. Like really hard, they werent budging. After letting them sit with some W-D40 for a while, they came out. Also, the camera you link to, it works but it seems a bit low quality and its actually a much wider view than the original camera. Maybe that's a good thing, I dont know yet but you can see the letters from the license plate on the bottom of the camera which is a bit annoying but no biggie. Thanks so much, so glad I tried this.
Great video and a thumbs up. Thank you for sharing and doing it the right way. I think we all Do It Your selfers can use a little patience like you showed in your video and avoid being a wrecking ball... Thanks again...
2 Questuons please: I habe a 2012 Edge, My camera is blurry, doesn't have guidelines and sometimes says "Rear Camera not available " so will changing just the camera fix that, or is this a software problem? 2.d Question, I saw on aother video that the camera would have to be "programmed" is that the case and if so, do you have a tutorial on that? Thx so much. considering doing this myself.
This guy is legit! 100% verified as I just finished removing and replacing the camera on my 2013 Ford Edge. Thank you!!!
Glad the video helped you

Thank you. Saved hundreds of dollars. Finished in less than two hours even though i am not a car guy.
Nice
Thank you a lot, my good sir. Greetings from Brazil
Good Video, better than the others I found explaining the same thing.
Glad it helped

This method is correct and easy. Anytime a channel has you cutting and such for a routine r&r run away.
Right on
Great video... Follow these steps and you'll be done in no time. Took no more than an hour.
Glad it helped
I'm so glad I found this, I really didn't want to cut off pieces. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for watching!
A very well done video tutorial, thank you!!!
You're very welcome!
Outstanding, my man! Thanks so much for doing this.
You bet!
Good video but he made it look easier than it was!!
Would a person want to make sure it works before putting the back panel on?
It there any alignment procedure? MY new cam seem a several degrees off.
Worked perfectly! Thank you!!
Great to hear!
Can u upgrade same camera with high resolutions camera if its available in the market
Did my Escape in 2 minutes. Just pry the plastic holder from the left side. Replace camera and pop the plastic holder back in.

Replacing the camera should fix the problem and no you don’t have to reprogram the camera.
Great video!!! So how do you realign/program the camera… new one shows tag and the red guide line is now on bumper instead a foot out or so
Im not sure all mine have lined up like normal
Great Work and Great Video! Thank You!
Glad it was helpful!
Genius can always be found alongside simplicity.
great saying!
It works! Thank you!
Great!
Does the close up function work on the new camera?
Great job! Thanks for creating this video!!
Thanks have a good week
Awesome video. Just be sure to plug in the camera before u reinstall the clips 😂
Nice video thanks.

Did you have to have a Ford Dealer reprogram the new camera?

Excellent Video... Thanks 🍻
Glad you enjoyed it
This was a very good video
Thanks
Great video thank you for the help
your welcome
Thanks so much for this video I am a female and not a pretend one so I’m going to try but I’m not very handy 😅😟
we are having issues getting the bolts out where the camera is
What year Ford Edge are you working on?
that was a 2011
Good stuff. Thank you!
thanks have a good weekend
Thank you man!
your welcome
Thanks. Just changed my camera and put it in properly and it’s upside down. Fml
What year Edge is this video on? My camera needs replaced and mine is a 2014
2011
The video works for 2014. I have a 2014.
Would be nice if you could just turn it upside down. And then the image, would be right side up again
I CANNOT get the very last screw. Even put the vice grip on some of the threads and it still won’t twist….
Warm it up with a hair dryer or heat gun
