I have a similar story. My dad and I hand painted a life-size set. We saw the tiny patterns for each piece in the set in WORKBENCH Magazine in about 1960. We drew 1/2" squares on each pattern, 6" x 6" squares on plywood and drew each figure on the plywood, interpreting each one in pencil, erasing and redoing as needed. When we moved to Florida in 1968, we donated the set to Warner Southern College (Now Warner University) in Lake Wales.
