At my age when I see a recommended speed for a sharp curve, I at least don’t want to be over 10 above recommended if I’m not familiar with the curve.
That's not age brotha, that's wisdom lol. All it took was 9 broken bones and 35% roadrash to skin ratio, for me to start riding with my IQ instead of my marbles lol. Stay safe out there! 🤟
1.) Passing on double yellow
2.) School backpack
3.) Sportbike
4.) Crashing into fellow rider
All the combined signs of the types I don’t ride with.
Absolutely agree
I crashed on my first ride yesterday. Bike stalled in an intersection. First thing I did was went through all the ResQ steps you talk about all the time. Turns out, they work on yourself just as much as others. I’m fine. Walked out of what could’ve been a terrible accident with a few scrapes.
I hope you're ok ❤
6:15 or don’t do stunt riding on public roads. Makes us all look bad.
When I see a wolf pack of hooligans like these yokels, I want to scream.
Yeah, Dan is critical of the person littering - which is inexcusable - but soft pedals the comments for troglodytes who impose themselves on others in traffic? I think he's afraid that they'll unsubscribe is he doesn't excuse their poor conduct.
Dan. Just wanted to say thanks for the videos. I have become so much more aware of certain situations as a result of your content. Especially open lane pattern stuff. I have definitely become a better, safer rider as a result. Keep it up brotha!
10:51 good thing they didn't get injured badly and there were other people, because that woman didn't even slightly look back after hearing that crash. Only excuse would be if she literally didn't hear it due to hearing issues.
Sounds like panic guy was sliding before he even got close to the woman. He just lost it at the end.
She didn't even seem to notice. lol
Like how she stops and looks then just carries on
15:51 That car probably has been stolen and the guys is trying to get away
or no insurance, suspended license, warrants, just a POS. All of the above? lol
Dan, maybe the lad in the first video reads upside down like you so he saw 51 MPH.
i do hit that turn at 50 lol
That first one is def the tortilla trail pass, second half after the 45mph section, in one of the two 15mph hairpins.
The orange Honda looked like an issue I had quite a few years ago. Brakes lines degraded and would allow fluid through to the calipers, but wouldn't let the fluid back out so the calipers could release. What starts out as some good brake drag quickly expands the rotors to the point where everything locks up. Now after about 5 years I just replace all brake lines with braided steel and never worry about it again.
Thanks for the reminder at 18:15 of the "joys" of gravel and other simple mistakes that hit good even at 17 miles per hour. I shutter thinking back on my lips and spills on a simple e-bike with a 500 watt rear hub motor, but I am glad you are sharing information that can spare me bigger mistakes. Been lucky that over the last 3 years, I've had minor injuries and nothing that had me visit the hospital. Usual spots of road pizza skin and some body soreness that followed. Guess that makes me a lucky person so far, eh?
My closest calls have been on group rides where I did not know the other riders
lucky situation all around. I shouldn't have been going that fast, i do that ride all the time, but it was a group ride and there was some newer riders around the curve so I was slowing not to come flying up on them. unfortunately my buddy wasn't ready for it and hit the back of me. he actually broke his clavicle, but is all good and riding again.
14:53 LITERAL BEST OPINION
I Am 70 yrs . I ride MC Triumph 800 cc Tiger and Victory CC ..Yeah.
Why do kids and old guys always say their age in comments lol
If you're stunting on a public roadway and slowing up traffic, you're going to piss people off. It's not rocket science.
I was coming around a corner near home that I go around pretty much every day, after dark the other day, saw something odd in the road, slowed a bunch and intentionally went wide when I realized A) nobody coming the other way and B) that oddness was the guy had just mowed the grass and there was LOT of grass clippings in the road, plenty to make someone low-side in that corner. I just kept it straight until I got far enough from the inside to be out of the clippings then finished the turn. If there were an oncoming car I might have had to try emergency braking and hope the ABS could do something with the bits of pavement that I had.
I wish you'd ship to Canada. I'd buy!!
Two big thumbs up for officer McDonald
"Thumbs down might bring back some childhood trauma" 🤣
Rear tire lock up probably lost tracrion om the painted line. Tire didnt screech until then.
I have some light dirt bike experience, and last month it took the cmsp and got my license. I’m planning on buying an r3 from a dealer 350 miles away from home would it be a bad idea to break it in by road tripping it those 350 miles home lol. I’ll bring a truck, ratchet straps, and some ramps just in case haha
15:54 I'm thinking black sedan was aware of motorcyclist to left of them so chose not to swerve hard left to avoid collision because that would have been bad for cyclist. commendable if that's the case.
I've crashed like 20 times because I suck and I always rise with just shorts and a tshirt with no gloves or anything. The only time I was every injured was wearing full leathers, I came off at something so low like 30mph and broke my collar bone and my leathers (cause they were a two piece) split in the middle and I got road rash all up there. I swear if I was wearing what I normally wear, I'd be spotless... I dunno how I keep getting away with it but I do.
One thing that drives me nuts is new riders riding in the middle. I’m in a cage and all it takes is for a sudden stop for a car in front for me to make you a jelly sandwich. Always ride like you’re about to die. Go slightly faster than the pack of cars and stay to the closest escape route.
I have over 200k mi on 2 wheels.
Went on my 1st ride today. 15 minutes in realized I forgot to wear my riding boots. Something to get used to.
Just make it a Routine, when you go ri'd, jacket.Helmet gloves boops and pants if you have them! But every time jacket helmet boots gloves ,riding goggles
I've done that before. You start riding, but something just feels weird, and then you realize. Fortunately, I'm usually only a couple of blocks away from the house and just turn around to swap shoes.
17:08 when in my car, about to pass some hazard, obstacle, persons or otherwise, on the shoulder to my right (America) but it's a corner/curve, I simply stop behind the hazard, i.e. cyclists, and wait until all of us are at a straight with better line of sight before passing. no need to rush ahead of anything for nothin. even if i'm late to work.
Instead of a thumbs down I give a finger wag☝🏼
i may b an idiot, sum even call me a buffoon
did u change ur name? it looks weird on my screen now

It's fine for me. Might just be you.
@@StableDruid130 yea prolly

1:57 , newbie rider, his foot position on the peg is terrible.
Lmao yes. Isn't gripping the bike at all with his legs
I wonder where all these idiots get the money to repair their bikes. I can't imagine paying out thousands of dollars fixing my bike after having delusions of adequacy.
Grom street mafia, only real men apply rofl

Stunt riders are annoying af. I agree with that lady.
Ah woman drivers
Sorry. Way to much pausing
😮
yeah so, that's kinda needed for video analysis. Next.
I corrected it for you. "Sorry, I didn't realize you had a purpose and are teaching while you do this. I have poor comprehension."
