fun fact (though idk if anyone else have talked about this before): but the way wanderer lounges forward while in the air is the same as peregrine falcons when they dive into their prey. they're the fastest bird and animal as their speed can be compared to that of an airplaine, i believe. his constellation is also called peregrinus, so i believe that peregrinus and peregrine falcons are also a direct reference that hoyo used for his wanderer transition.
anddddd, most peregrine falcons vary from blue to bluish gray to dark grey.
Now i think it's the reason why another bird like him🤔
If you noticed this his theme song, effects, and transitions is similar to Raiden's demo trailer 😃

The beginning was so jam packed with lore. The birb in Ei and Yae’s idle, the sound of thunder and lighting (very very frightening~), the rude encounter with Fatui’s as a former Harbinger.
Mans like "ok I admit I was evil, so now i'll only commit REASONABLE atrocities" *murders fatui* "ok one step at a time that's on them"
He roasted them physically, mentally, and existentially
I WON'T LIE WHEN I SAY THIS DEMO IS SO SICK IT HAD ME SCREAMING definitely top 5 Demos nah top 3 for me for sure!
I love how, for the most part throughout this demo, he's actively engaged with the ELECTRO fatui agent. Almost like he's finally enjoying getting his "revenge" toward Ei and everything associated with her. Yeah, he still has some anger and mommy issues he's working through but, we love him anyways.
Notice that when he starts do diss Fatui, his original theme starts playing as if to symbolise him briefly switching back to Harbinger work mode but then swiches back to show that he's changed
There's a very.. buddhist quality to the track actually. Especially the bell(?) at 10:24
I'm not sure about India or Japan, but in Chinese stories when someone enters monkhood, they are granted a new name and discards the previous one, and therefore discarding all worldly attachments and desires with it.
I'm pretty sure the Wanderer's story is alluding to that. He even looks like he is wearing a buddhist robe and his weapon is a bell
i love how he has the monk aesthetic but is also EXTREMELY violent
For me I think the “Bird” resembles Nahida because as she always say “I am just a bird flying” and the bird in this trailer is like she is monitoring the Wanderer so that he won’t do anything crazy…. That’s why when the battle ended the bird trying to stop the wanderer to kill the Fatuus….
And if you nocticed…. When Fatuus trying to stop him with his weapon the bird got flown away, wanderer be like “how dare you do that to my step-mom” then proceeds to beat them up.
For me I prefer it to be resembles Nahida than raiden

True. It could also be both archons, Ei and Nahida. There was a lot of symbolism to Nahida being a little bird trapped in a cage and in the last archipelago event, the bird seems to be her only source communication with the outside world.
I shall refer to the Wanderer as "Redacted" from now on. His going to erase himself in some way during the archon quest, his face being scrapped off the film is another nod to this outcome.
Also explains why the Fatui don't recognize him. Although it would be funny if the Fatui wonder why there is no 6th harbinger and can't remember
@@racool911 the fatui is a huge organization. They're probably low ranking or new recruits so they wouldn't possibly know every harbinger's face

Yeah, but this time it's just the memories of his past identies being erased(i think). That's why he just becomes the wanderer, he's on a journey of self discovery, freed from any previous ties from the past.
My guess is that the two Fatuis are the members of the lowest chain of command or are new recruits, the newer ones barely recognizes the Harbingers anyway
The fact Fatui doesn't even seem to recognise him despite being a harbinger himself means he probably did erase himself in the Irminsul tree

Finally someone notices the similarities between his demo and Kazuha's! Them being closely linked through Kazuha's backstory, them both being wanderers, having an anemo vision, etc. really makes me think they are supposed to be foils of each other
God, I love the mixes of Raiden/Inazuma theme, his scaramouche & boss theme, little hints of Sumeru too, and the harbinger theme being all mixed into this all throughout
Even the intro instrumental is similar to Kazuha's intro but in minor key(?); I love the parallels between them
ALSO that heavy bell sound during the second drop after his burst at 1:55 was so satisfying 😩 (even better since his signature weapon is a literal bell)
Hoyoverse really spoiled this guy for 2 years and my primogems are all here for it
I have almost 1.1k wishes ready for him, i will c6r5 no matter what. He’s been my favourite character since his 1.1 appearance, he deserves nothing but the best >:(

I give names to characters based on stories from the bible.
Getting the wanderer would be awesome and if we do get to name him, I think I would call him...Cain. Since he too became of wanderer.

THEY WENT SO HARD ON THIS FOR WHAT!!! 😭😭😭 I'm honestly also super happy too that they've kept him such a menace. It wouldn't be the same lil' dude otherwise! He's going through some things but he's not "redeemed," just newly finding insight and trying to figure out his own path even as he sneers and blows raspberries at everyone. What a gremlin.

as ashikai has explained, the flower symbol you’re talking about is similar to the pattern on the time sundial in mondstadt and also venti’s archon sigil when you hold his skill
UD mentioning this is his transition fits so well and that there are some elements rom this demo mirroring the Raiden Shogun but making it his own. I can't wait for his story quest to see his character development and him getting the anemo vision, I'm nervous 'cause the hype is really high TT

i wanna name this guy "tekiou", because in japanese, tekiou means "to adapt" or "to change", and from what i've seen so far, hes undergone a shit ton of character development and it makes me really happy for him.

They deliberately made the music to have a distorted and disturbing vibe, just like they did with Raiden's demo.

From this demo and the fact that the fatui didnt recognize him, i have a theory, i think that during the archon quest besides learning his backstory in full we will erase his from the Irminsul, then everyone forgets who he is, giving him the chance to basically reinvent himself, dont have much evidence, but the glitchs in the demo, including that one that covered his eyes convinced me.

For an "evil" character, it's really interesting that at 1:51 the music sounds like church bells
They gave us the "choke me daddy" moment and the "step on me master" moment in one video and yes that burd is us the genshin community, the scara-nation ! 😂
I think that Scaramouche's ring behind him are shaped like akasha terminals...

Having been ignored, they threaten the teen with physical harm and open fire when the teen asked if they were asking in jest. They absolutely deserved this beatdown. On Teyvat that is. Violence isn't the answer folks.

Sick demo. The callbacks to Kazuha and Ei's demos, the VAs (both EN and CN), were amazing. Everyone from Yu-Peng Chen and Patrick, and 鹿音kana to the animators knocked it out of the park. Can't wait to see what they come up with for Al-Haitham and Dehya.
As for why the fatui didn't recognize him, they're probably foot soldiers or new recruits. Since fatui is a big organization, I take it not everyone especially the low rankers know how the harbingers looks like

The whispers are not what I expected for him, I'm really curious what the idea behind the music this time around was? I could see it be a few things
About nicknames for him...
I like to call him Aiwenil. I started looking at an online Elvish dictionary, because I’d grown interested in the language, and according to the dictionary, ‘aiwe’ can mean ‘small bird’, and the suffix ‘-nil’ can mean ‘friend’, in the Elvish dialects Quenya and Sindarin, respectively. If you combine these two, it wouldn’t mean ‘small bird friend’ exactly, but rather, it would be more as if ‘small bird’ was his name, and that you consider him your friend, at least to my understanding. I like it because of his apparent association with birds recently. The fact that he has aerial combat and that Ei’s bird shows up in this demo are some of the many things that tie him to birds.
So, yeah, I named this sassy menace ‘small bird, my friend’ in Elvish. Alternatively, we could just use the name for Ei's bird, seems to fit it more…
Anyway, it was fun to think about this, I do wonder what everyone will eventually end up calling him, if not one of his old names or Wanderer. I've seen some suggestions for Bongo-Head, so maybe we should just let Paimon name him!
