Kind of an advanced tip, if your using braid for predators ie pike, don’t use the heaviest line that your rod can handle. Braid is much more visible and makes a huge difference. Example Loki 7’7” SE I could throw up to 24lb braid but I won’t catch any fish. Instead I throw a 17lb braid w/ a lower weight titanium leader. I catch so many more pikes for farming like trophies and uniques. Especially if it’s sunny. You will also get bigger fish albeit make sure you know how to land a fish b/c you will have a fight but be rewarded greatly.
I'm honestly just lazy, so I stick with braid, I never noticed much of a difference in-game but IRL you are 100% correct. Mainly I'm lazy and get mad when I have 50 different types of lines in my backpack lol

I wish I could post a pic of the uniques I have been catching on this 19lb braid setup. 40-44lb fish worth ~$4K and the 1500xp farming at Michigan. Spent so much time on that water went from lvl 28 to 40 and learned a lot

finally figured out how to build a perfect rod. You always start with the line. Say you want 10 lbs. test line, done. Now pick the reel just barely below 10 lbs. Go with 9.9 lbs. max drag Prima 3500, as it's as close to 10 lbs. as you can get without breaking it ever. Ever. Now pick the rod, pick just over the reel limit of 9.9 lbs. The 10 lbs. Aurora is perfect. Now you have an unbreakable optimally balanced 9.9 lb. capable setup. Add a barbless hook, and you have the strongest 10 lb. test line setup possible that will earn maximum XP points. Say you instead picked the Force Feeder 6000 with 10.5 lb. max. Now you are screwed, as you created a time bomb. You can only use it at the 7/8 drag setting, that's only 9 1/8 lb. If you accidentally set it to 8/8 drag a large fish will break your line and rod. You now see how most reels in the list are useless. That Calisto 8.8 lb. is a waste of money. Too big for 8 lb. line, too small for 10 lb. line. The Espira ML 3000 12.1 lb. reel. Useless. There isn't 12.2 lb. line. You have to use 15 lb. to be safe. Lighter weight line scares fewer fish. Why limit 15 lb. line catches fewer fish than 12 lb line. Using heavier line than required is dumb, you lose XP. By the way, catch the big fish in the kayak with the anchor up, and you can pull in 2 x the weight of fish with no problem.

Love the vids, I hope I can catch pike slasher I have used so much time trying to catch one, I'm using a 12.5 kg line and franken bait and won't bite on it even thou I put it where they are jumping and at the cloudy night peak time

Another tip:
Spend your money wisely!!!
Make sure you have everything in your backpack before traveling
There was so many times where I spent $10,000+ to travel only to realize I forgot the main bait, lure, or even forget to add a reel to a rod, therefore making me travel back to the globe and wasting another 10,000 traveling back.
I'm not sure if I fully agree with your balanced setup theory but the other tips was quiet helpful even at my level. The reason I don't make a balanced setup is because if I'm trying to catch a particular fish and some monster comes along that also likes that same bait I'd prefer my line to break first before my rod and reel. I've already lost one setup back when I was a level 7 or 8 and that was reasonably balanced.
I get that, doesn't need to be perfectly balanced anyways just can't be crazy imbalanced basically. Can always have it setup your way to break the line!
@@Zabby That's one fast reply lol. Yeah my line is a few lbs less than my reel but still in range of the rod. I know it's possible to cut the line but when I realize I'm spooled it's too late. As I said though still very helpful and appreciated 👍🏻 I just wish I didn't spend money recently on this because I feel as though I'm going to get to a point where I don't want to transition over to the fisherman - fishing planet.

Oi I just started delving into lure fishing what are the indicators under the bobber diagram for? Sometimes it’s there and sometimes it isnt
You want the test weight on your line to be the smallest of the three, that way you break your line first, and NOT your rod/reel. The way around this, is using a leader as a break point for too much tension.

How do I know what a match setup is? At Neherrin River. Have Nero 10 10 - thought it might be a match rod. Very confused.
Seems like as long as all the stress is on the line it’s worth the sacrifice eventually vs the rod or reel repair my biggest setback was fishing after the license expired and lost 7000 it happened again but I shut the game off and that worked
When I try to attach a lure or something like that, it is gray and I can’t equip it, how do i fix this? or do you know why it does this?
great video zabby,i think the name of the fish should be labled above the marker on the waterway so you dont have to go back to the navigation map,i think it would make much easier

@@Zabby at blue crab i have about 14 markers at one area,,a dude sent me a marker i set it out i had to keep going back to the nav map to find it in the mess of markers,very frustrating

Is there a way to tell which fish you have left to catch at a certain fishery so you can complete catching all fish in that particular spot?
In real fishing we don't choose our line strength by the max drag on the reel. Did I understand correctly that this is how it's done in this game?

Can you choose which day you wanna start ? sometimes there is slow fishing on day one , I try to skip to day 2 but that did not work on my Xbox , not sure if its possible on PC ?
you can skip ahead to whatever day you want but it costs money
Hi my name is Santos I was playing fishing planet and I like to now how to come back because I vanish for the game I can not see me
Dude my setup is balanced but still when i caught a smallmouth buffalo it showed the white outline what do I do? And also it was not very easy to catch it i used creekpro 7'10, espiraslim 100,braid 05,open feeder 1/2 oz, mono leader 05, hook 2, bread with honey, green bell was what i used. I also was trying to catch spotted bass and my line almost always breaks.
Sounds like the drag is set too high for the bass. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by it showed a white outline when you got the small mouth buffalo
@@Zabby it was the unbalanced line outline in the circle below it made it hard to reel. How do i set my drag lower i use a ps4 im not sure because i am level 13. Dude imagine my line when i bought it it was 542ft and now 126ft

Anyone knows why my game super lags/freezes whenever I have 2 rods in the water? Goes back to normal once I lose the 2nd rod & just keep one in water! I have a bottom rig on a stand & a bait caster in hand.

Excellent tutorials. How does one get multiple setups like you have on the left side? You have like 7. I got recipes working on the right side. What is the difference? I have about 3 hours real time in the game and I am not very efficient.

the game will let you equip spinners and spoons to you spinning or casting setup. So grab a casting or spinning rod and reel and go to town!

I got the first vest and the green fanypack but I don't know how to store stuff in them on Xbox so can you tell me how to use them
They just increase what you can carry with you in general you don't actually have to put anything in them just equip them and you're all set!
@@Zabby how do you increase the number of days you can stay at the spots like Lone star I can't even increase the days for the other spots I'm level 8 so I'm not sure if that is a factor or not
@@ghostface1529 Don't worry about prepaying for long trips just keep extending the trip when you're already at the lake! It will ask you extend each night
@@Zabby will the mini bass jig work for spotted bass in Lone Star or do I need regular bass jigs
I'm having this issue when I use the different types of methods eg twitching, stop and go where they just don't come up on the top right and it won't catch fish wondering if anyone could help thanks
try reeling at different speeds either slower or faster depending, also for twitching if you let it hit the bottom it will stop the motion

Never mind I figured it out (had to click on the person icon to change what your carrying).

What’s the difference between momo and braid line? I don’t know which one to use
I almost only use braid now as I don't notice much of a difference in game between the line types, however IIRL you use braid when you need a stronger line against fish with teeth
@@Zabby, also lower diameter than mono; but still strong so you can cram more of it on a reel. Also, it doesn't stretch. If you're bottom fishing and watching your rod tips for bites, braid has the advantage there.

im a ps4 player and im getting a new gaming laptop. could I transfer my ps4 account to my laptop or will I have to start all over again? also can you connect a ps4 controller to a laptop to play fishing planet
You have to start over on PC. You can connect a controller, just use the mouse for the menus and keyboard for chat :)

How to open the map
Make sure you also use a controller or keyboard and mouse to play the game
Nice videos buddy but , is it possible to move to right-corner instead of the left side so we can see what hook , what line etc thx #tightlines cheerio from the Netherlands PS4Pro fishing since 2017 when it all began
I try to specifically say what hook size etc but it always shows my current lure/hook/bait in the top right when fishing

These are pretty advanced level tips. I want to know if its better to keep or release fish? And why can't I keep some fish in the starter lake without a penalty? Then it says I can take a chance on keeping it. What happens?
If you buy an advance license, you’ll be able to keep any fish you catch.
Always keep a fish if you can. Sometimes your keepnet will be too small. But if it fits, keep it. Keeping it is the only way you’ll make money. If you release it, you’ll just get XP
If you go to the pond store, and scroll over to “licenses”, you can buy an advance license

Hi, I would like your input. I can purchase two DLC packs. After watching your videos and doing some readings, I narrowed them down to:
Pro angler sport, mighty carp tournament and saltwater match. Which two would you recommend? I'm rank 10.
I think Saltwater is the best value, it's kinda annoying early on fishing there cause you wont have a boat, but you can still fish from the dock in Blue Crab

Make a new account or buy DLC, I would just make a new steam account and get a fresh start.
