    Those rock hoppers are setup for ballast dumping that’s why they have side door setup I wonder if it makes it difficult to discharge for the dumper unloaded crews I’ll ask our Conrad friend and let you know

      Not sure if I’m seeing this right, but it looks like on the bottom there’s a director that can direct rock towards either the inside or outside of the rail. Maybe that’s how it works if I’m seeing it right. Definitely let me know on that one, that’s real interesting. Maybe y’all can pick up a few of those😉

    13:00 Good for you, Dakota!!! You’ve got wheels!!! This will change your life!
    19:00 Nice shot! The weather here is always so beautiful, so it’s nice to see shots with dark clouds in the distance. 19:16 is so awesome that it would make a nice magazine cover!!!
    You always seem to know how to catch the trains. I don’t see that much when I get up that way on Sundays. Maybe I’m not patient enough…

      1, yessir I’m getting there, definitely not my car, or full license yet, but most definitely progress! 2, overcast, dark backgrounds have always been a favorite of mine, as long as I’m not IN the rain! Haha! 3, I loved that scene, definitely one of my favorite shots to date. I definitely do know my way around, but often some days hardly yield anything. Quantity wise, sundays are much better than Saturdays for Railfanning around plant city and such, cause a few local switchers run, which don’t on Saturdays. Though some Saturdays or slow days can yield amazing results. Stay tuned for the next video😉

      Oh yeah thanks! Actually a funny comment on that - Over the past 3 weeks, we’ve seen (across a number of trains) Amtrak 128, 129, 130, 131 and 132. Kinda interesting haha

      @@kotabeaner Also, my opinion on Q144 and 45, kinda cool, even though mixed freight sounds weird on the A line diamonds, still pretty cool, especially seeing 046 longer when sometimes he can be only a couple cars long am I right?

    • @kotabeaner
      @kotabeaner  3 роки тому

      Oh absolutely. I don’t really like the idea of mixed stuff going with everything else, but rack and intermodal combines actually look pretty neat to me. I’ve seen 46 as short as 1 car, so absolutely, he can rival the light engine moves!! Haha

      @edwardrhg 3 роки тому

      @@kotabeaner Yea, there are other longer trains that run in other parts of the country, and they have intermodal and autorack combines, can't wait to catch this guy!

    • @kotabeaner
      @kotabeaner  3 роки тому

      Oh yeah it’s pretty neat. Remember - Only one train on one day. Q145 runs Saturday nights only, Q144, Sunday nights only. Good luck!!

    8:52 who needs a weep spraying train when you have lots of lawn mowing equipment

    • @kotabeaner
      @kotabeaner  3 роки тому

      Anyone smart. Cutting it only keeps it down for a week or two in the summer. Spraying it completely kills the seeds, but even then it’s only effective for a few months.

    Technically, CSX Dash 9s aren’t really Dash 9s. They were built as C44-8Ws, which are just D8s with some D9s components. CSX Derated them to 4000 HP a while back, hence why they decided to call them C40-9Ws. CSX was the one and only buyer of the C44-8Ws, making them very rare.
