Blur 2 is my favorite cancelled game. The first one was an incredibly fun racer, that included abilities similar to Mario Kart but with with a higher skill focus and less randomization, and real cars and unique tracks more close to street racers. And Blur 2 was about to amp up and do some incredible stuff and looked really fun. But there was no trailer or anything, but the dev build of the time was leaked and some people played and showed it.
I remember playing Silent hill PT on my cousins ps4, it’s what got me into the franchise and I didn’t have a ps4 but I did have a psvita, so I made my mom get me silent hill book of memories, it wasn’t the most iconic silent hill game, but after watching countless hours of gameplay and play-throughs of PT I always enjoyed playing silent hill book of memories, I was really sad when I heard it was canceled, though thankfully Kojima productions was born and Kojima and del toro, along side Norman Reedus, who was in the PT trailer, made death stranding, which was just as outstanding as I would imagine kojima would do, of course it got it’s fair share of criticism, but in the end it was an enjoyable experience.
As sad as it is that scalebound was cancelled, I'm glad that it was because we likely never would have gotten platinum to work on nier automata without that happening
I admit i was only really interested in scalebound because i like dragons and i like customisation so customisable dragons that you can fight alongside was appealing to me. The main character felt like standard Kamiya fair to me, not too dissimilar from Dante or Gene from God Hand so i didn't mind him at all.
I disagree with almost everything you said about Scalebound. Platinum was at that point still a very pedigreed studio with a dedicated niche following. It was also announced in a time period where the DMC franchise was still seemingly abandoned, as such a game from Kamiya, who is colloquially known as the grandfather of the series was the closest anyone in the fanbase expected we would get to the tone and gameplay of the fanbase.
