Kyokushin Karate hands down. It’s only problem is no punches to the head, and you can literally solve that by training with punches to the head while solo training or sparring at a boxing/MMA gym with punches to the head.

Sport karate makes you improve so much tour footwork, it's really good to keep distance, but of course it's also important to know how to hit hard and exchange strikes
Kyokushin karate has more real-world serviceable techniques as a focus. Sports karate have some benefits in that it allows you to learn a VERY crucial skill in distancing and spacial awareness. I think the former is more serviceable. I think it gives more at base and you have to add less to Kyokushin to make it more viable than the latter
You forgot to add that kyokushin doesn't do punches to the faces whereas in sport karate you can but not allowed to knock out. Personally I think both are great arts. Probably better if you can combine them but if I was forced to pick one, it will have to be kyokushin.
i want to try kyokushin one day but we practice point sparring at my dojo. I think that's good for utilizing strategy and developing balance but one day I wanna just get thrown across a room lol.

Just get into it your flexibility will get better over time just search up basic hip stretches and do them everyday, I would suggest kickboxing because tkd is boring af n more of a performance compared to some other martial arts.

I practice Kyokushin and it brings me inner peace but I love learning about all martial arts. I don’t think there is one style that is complete, one would need to be proficient in several arts to target each field, like grappling, throws, fighting from the floor... and so on. That's what I've come to think while doing some intense research after learning I was indeed practicing kyokushing (I had no idea there were different styles of karate when I started training 😂)
Definitely Kyokushin. I've never trained in that style but BMT Kickboxing(Western Boxing, Dutch Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Kyokushin Karate, & Wrestling) is the closet thing I do at my Kickboxing school.
I've trained both for over 10 years both of them and my perspective is: If you want to learnt how to fight fight you need Kyokushin, because its real fighting, however the kumite in Wkf/Sport Karate is so high...Pointy Karate is very complex and learning how to become a technical fighter isn't easy at all, in my oppinion you need to pursue a mix of both, the endurance and trainings of Kyokushin, but the distance and range understanding of sport karate
Both can definetely be used in fighting, but as a person whose dojo is a mix of shotokan and kyokushin, I'd say kyokushin is much more easily applicable in real fights. sport karate/shotokan look much better visually though. so for some players its nice to get a mix of both worlds for self defence and sport-wise as you can get a sick combo of actually knocking someone out, and being able to do showy kicks on punching bags or less experienced fighters.
Pple usually think kyokushin is not good cuz it got no face punching but they dont know a lot of kyokushin dojo have face punching class. In my dojo we have boxing classes twice a week and really do sparring with headgear on

Kyokushin does play tap sparing sometimes, but mainly for demonstrations and certain tournaments. As long as you're being taught how to punch, kick and block with full force and how to hold a fist correctly. I wouldn't see why sport karate isn't transferable in regards to Self Defense, Street Fights, MMA etc

For a good reason. Kyokushin Karate isn't called Karate for nothing. If punches to the head were allowed in tournaments, it would be far too bloody. Only a limited amount of types of kicks are allowed in full contact tournaments purely because it requires more energy to do, and more skill to pull off. If it was an actual Kyokushin fight. You'd expect the fighters to end up very badly damaged from head strikes alone
